Happy Birthday Hector

Hi Everyone,

Just posting the card I made for one of my little brothers. I made it on my cricut I still have to work on proper measurements so the pop up cake can look better when it's open. I guess there is a die out there but I'd rather do it on my cricut. Just need some practice and some adjustments I guess. One of my first errors that I made today was that I made it with cardstock and it's well lets just say it's too stiff. lol so then I had to work with thin scrapbook paper instead- worked much better on the mobility (the pop up part). Well, Hope you kind of like it- It's had working on male cards for some reason.

Good night- Have to get some rest and wake up early for church. Good night and blessings to everyone.

Alphabet Challenge Blog: F for Foliage

Hello Everybody,

Here just entering a challenge and working on a Christmas card or should I say CARDS that I need to catch up on. The challenge is from The Alphabet Challenge Blog called:"...F for Foliage" - According to the site: this can be Christmas trees, holly, leaves etc. And don't forget anything goes for this challenge, not just cards!

Anyway, I got the idea from two people that I have to give credit to for inspiring me to do this card.

Thank You Cards

Hi Everyone,

I've been M.I.A. for the past few weeks... I was sick for a while (with a cold). Besides that I've been working on some thank you cards that a relative asked for me to make.
Here are some... I need to work on better layouts and color choosing I think.... but they kind of came out okay... I hope. Plus it gives me practice for cards I would like to give out for Thanksgiving as well... not too traditional with the color and images but the message and all of it's meaning is in place. All though I must admit i was having a mental block... I asked my auntie-in-law what would she like in the cards besides "thank you" she left it all up to me and out all of the times I get all of these ideas non really came to mind... maybe cause I've been sick or tired...I don't know... until I worked with Sentimentals cart I started feeling a little more creative there.

Some cricut cartridges used were:
*Sentimentals
*Once Upon a Princess
*Gypsy Wandering
*Gypsy Font
*Forever Young

Other items used:
*Martha Stewart Punch
*Stickles

*Oh yea and the roses I made those too.

Those were just the centers of the pink roses and of course some leaves
Publish PostThis is where I need some color choosing help...

Thanks you for visiting- Hugs and Smiles,

X & :)

Diaper Cake

This is a diaper cake I'm working on for my friend. Please excuse the quality of the pix... as I ran out of space on my SD card and I don't like to delete the originals from the SD card. The diaper cake is not finished yet. I still need to add the cake topper. I'm planning for it to be the mommy on the New Arrival Cartridge- I haven't cut her yet... but she'll be wearing something "Safari like outfit colors" I used the http://www.peachykeenstamps.com/products/PK_742_Baby_Animal_Faces_5-254-0.html
I don't have the create a critter faces yet... so for the lion's face I used the bear's face. LOL. I would also like to say that my diaper cake was inspired by http://nicki8875.blogspot.com/2009/08/diaper-cake_29.html Thanks Nicole for the idea.

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge # 38

Hello Everyone,

Hopefully all of you enjoyed your weekend. I did with the family and had some time to do some crafting. This project is for the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge # 38 here's the link: http://peachykeenstampschallenge.blogspot.com/2010/10/peachy-keen-stamps-challenge-38-october.html The challenge was to create a project that was NOT A CARD. Something that was part of this season such as Halloween... or Thanksgiving and I'm not sure but you had to use some Peachy Keen Stamps in your project. I Decided to do a wall or door hanging for Trick-or-Treaters or "office guests" at work lol... not sure which one I want to use it on yet... (hmm... who deserves it more hmm... j/k) Part of this idea came from Emma's Episode 93 and the Hello Kitty project she did. I must say this project took me almost all day stopping often and I mean often to check on the kids, feed them, clean them... blah blah blah.... Also took me a while because I decided to make my Hello Kitties small.... I'm not sure if I want to make them that small in the future anymore. But I did love how my sign/wall hanging came out. Now I just need to figure out how I will hang it and with what.

Emma's Throwback Challenge Episode # 104

Hi everyone,
So I decided to enter this challenge... well I decide I will do a lot of these challenges but finishing a card is another topic on it's own. LOL Well for Emma's Throwback Challenge @ http://www.creativetimeforme.com/2010/10/throwback-thursday-challenge-episode104.html The card has to be a "shaped" card and you must use the color "orange" which is under used by me I have a lot of orange HA! Oh yea and you have to use the "Create a Critter Cartridge" unless of course you don't own it.

Butterfly on a child's hand

My inspiration, my little Jade!
This card I made today. The idea came when the power went out since last night... the transformer on the post blew out argg... lol... I missed my electronics... (ie computer "internet"and my Cricut.) But since I couldn't use my Cricut I went through some of my Arts and Craft books and got the butterfly on hand idea. Well the idea really came from a picture I took of my daughter the beginning of this year when we made a trip to the California Academy of Sciences and something which reminded me of this picture today is from "The Pop-Up Book" page 76, by Paul Jackson. I didn't make it quite a pop-up card like on the book but I did add some dimension by slightly bending the fingers and bending the butterfly. The hand I actually made it by coloring my daughters hand with a Marvy Uchida Brush Markers and used her hand as a stamp. The butterfly I misplaced the cardboard that it comes with the makers name... so I can't really say who made it... but I did buy it from Michael's sorry about that... I also added some foam mounting dots for more dimension.
Here is the card from the side. I didn't want to quite copy the entire thing from "The Pop-Up Book" so I made it into an easel card and got the idea from: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/easelcard/
My 3 year old daughter says, 'I love you, I missed you, Bye bye, See you tomorrow!" whenever particular family members are leaving from a visit. I thought it would be really cute on a card for her Great-Granny. Heehee I love her she's so funny. I'll make this card for the other few family members too.
That is a "custome" stamp I purchased from someone on Ebay. I added a little something something on how the card was made too.

Sympathy Card

My Granny-in-law just had a brother that passed away and wanted to make her a card. This is not the card I intended to do but at the last minute after making all of these paper roses [that you'll see at a later post] I changed my mind on the layout and theme so I left them out and put another flower I previously made with the same color paper.
Items used-
*Clear Stamps: Cross, from Spiritual Sketches #99548 by Inkadinkado
and Everyday Sayings CL342 by Hero Arts.
*Brush Markers by Marvy Uchida
*Stickles by Ranger: Star Dust, Green and Yellow
*Cardstock Paper: the Lavender one from the Pastels collection made by Recollections
*Flower: cricut cut from cartridge Accent Essentials- Accnt24s (petals) page 55 and Accnt33s (leaves) page 64

Hello there bloggers,

Well my vacation this week is coming to a finalization... :( [booooooooooooooo!] Even thought I was being a lazy prego chick most of the time I did get to work on some paper crafting. I started and finished a few cards (yay me!!!) and some are still a work in progress... mainly stopping so many times to take care of my kiddies 3 and 1 year old :P, taking care of a few errands/appointments and or taking breaks from back or neck pain (arggg) while crafting BUT I still enjoyed it.

I'll post some pix in a few.... (minutes I hope)

Thanks for visiting.
