SBS DT: Aloha & Howdy

Hey Ya'll,

How's  it going? Coming in with a brand spanking new line from Simply Betty Stamps.

I got to color two digis one for the State of Hawaii and the other State of Texas. Both were colored with copics only for Hawaii Betty I colored the background with distress inks.

Here is Hawaii Betty and she comes with that sentiment.

Distress inks used:
Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Mermalade and Fired Brick
Sand paper from Recollections

Close up

Here you can see the mess on my desk and the process before cropping.

Here is Texas Betty.
You can find her here:

Paper and Embellishment are from BoBunny Anthem collection

Again mess on my desk and the process before cropping.
I don't know much about Texas besides what I see on tv and food I've tasted
but this is how I image some places that would have armadillos... maybe???
I hand drew the image with Copics... just skipped pencil and inking all together and
freehand the scenery but I'm happy with it.

Thanks for looking.

SBS DT: What's Your Sign?

Hey Everyone!

Hope all is well with everyone! First, I would like to say Happy Teacher's Appreciation Week and Happy Mother's Day to all the lovely mothers.  :)

Okay on to the post, so what's your sign? LOL I remember growing up I would watch Walter Mercado give out the daily horoscope or at least Monday through Friday on Primer Impacto a Spanish television show... it was all silly but I watched it everyday religiously and there was no DVR to pause and rewind so if we missed what he said oh well. LOL Then in high school the students or at least all of the seniors would get the local newspaper for free so we always read our daily horoscopes and it was fun to read your friends' daily readings too... it was all silly but it gave us a good laugh.

I'm not into horoscope stuff anymore but I do love reading or listening to the Ancient Mythologies behind them either Greek or Roman versions. Besides the Big Dipper and Little Dipper I couldn't tell you which constellations I'm looking at unless I've been given a hint or sat there long enough to make little pictures around them. LOL Last year we went to Big Trees in Calaveras County, drove up to a mountain where an astronomer pointed out the stars with a green laser and told us the stories of these constellations and I even got to see the Milky Way. The whole experience was fascinating! Everything in it's natural state is so beautiful.... something we miss out on living in the city-  of course there is beauty in the urban life... but doesn't compare to natural beauty. :)

You can find the entire Zodiac Bettys Bundle here:

or you can just search for the individual images.

Okay on to my cards. I feel like I made them sort of simple but I didn't want to hide the papers. LOL

This is Aries Betty, my sign, I was born April 15th! :)

I colored her with Copic markers.
I used papers from the Stardust Stack by DCWV.
Copics used:

Here is Cancer Betty.
She actually has straight her it's just the way I decided to color her hair makes in different.
 Same papers used.
I decided to give her an natural afro texture
Colored with Copic markers

Here you can see the shimmer on her dress and eyelids

Here is Saggittarius Betty.
Again paper from the same stack.
I noticed that the constellation of Hercules was in this page... and even though it was like smacked in the middle of the page lol I cut it up and will use the scraps for more cards.
The constellation of Sagittarius, a centaur who was a great archer was placed near the Hercules constellation to keep guard of him from Scorpius, the scorpion.

Copics used

Here is a closer look at her face.

I hope you liked my cards.

Thanks for looking and/or commenting.

Slinky Tart DT: I'm back

Hey Everyone I'm baaaaaack!

How's everyone doing? I had to take the longest break ever from crafting... I absolutely didn't touch my markers... okay well I did but only to rearrange them.... life was getting a little bit too crazy for me and had to put crafting aside to reorganize my life some. With classes, meetings, trying to stay fit... I've been doing Zumba more and I've also been doing some weight lifting... okay not that much but I can definitely life more weight. Just different things it was just wearing me out. Of course I hated not doing anything creative but it was essential to get a routine going... it is now the end of the school year and some of these meetings are dying down for the time being and my last Parent Academy class was last night the celebration will be next week but no homework or projects due... woohoo lol

This past month had lots of up and downs... Hubby took me to Las Vegas to unwind during the kid's Spring Break... that was fun! Hubby and I both have birthdays in April so we both had nice dinners with the family, got some good news and some bad news... I can't say the good news yet... I think... (no it's not about a DT spot lol) the sad news is that my remaining grandmother died and I didn't get to visit her once more. :( I will always love and cherish her; always. I am so happy that I got to meet such a beautiful soul.

Okay on to my card...

I used Dayna of the Dead (clink on the link)  If you'd love to see more images to purchase, check them out here https://payhip.com/SlinkyTart

I used Copic markers to color her of course.
the doily is from Michaels (Recollections brand)
I typed up that sentiment, cut it and used distress ink for the edges
The hand I bought in a set from ebay years ago
The orange rose was a little gift from shopping at
(I love her store for physical stamps, dies and embellishments)
the flower under that, my crafty friend Carmen Shannon sent to me in a R.A.K. :D
the die is from My Creative Time.

Here is a close-up of the face
please excuse the shaddows at the bottom I think I had my big head blocking the lamp light
This was a Spanish poem I found on the internet;
translated it and added it as a sentiment to my card.

Well ladies and gentlemen it's time for me to go back to bed.
As always thanking God for another day and for the gift of creativity.
I hope you all liked my card.

Hugs,

Katya Bess
