7 Kids Crafts: Steampunk Debutante

Hello Everyone!

I purchased another Graphic 45 - Steampunk Debutante (Deluxe Collector's Edition) and felt like yes, I can cut the one I already have. haha I love things Steampunk or Victorian Era but always feel intimidated to cut my paper or really I don't feel that I know how to ensemble a great project with such fancy papers.

When I think about the Victorian era I also think about Steampunk. Fancy people of society roaming the sidewalks, many political gatherings, dinners or parties and lots of inventions. Even the houses and gardens that I imagine are beautiful to sit and admire. If I had lots of money for my wedding, I would have chosen a Victorian theme especially after watching a Novela called Alondra.  I was fascinated with their wardrobe in that Novela.

I had so much fun creating this card and with pretty much everything from the Graphic 45 - Steampunk Debutante (Deluxe Collector's Edition) except for the flowers some are from 7 Kids Craft Store and some are from Not2SshabbyShop. The Sprocket Gears are by Tin Holtz idea-ology that I got from Michael's many moons ago and same from the clocks which are a Michael's brand.

Lots of fussy cutting went down to make this project. Some days I look at it and it looks like a fancy feminine card and other days I look at it like: Oh man did I pile it on too much? But nah, you can't have too many roses or butterflies right?

Here is how the original lady with the corset looks and I added some
color with Copic markers. I forgot to write them down but I did
take note of the Copic Refills I used to tint the flowers to try
to match to the fun Steampunk Papers.

7 Kids Crafts: Sweet Summer Life

Hello Everyone!

I hope you got a chance to play with all of the little Tadpoles from the Vault over at 7 Kids Crafts with 3 images by Sweet November digital stamps. Hit the "newest items" button and you'll get right to them and don't forget these vault images are out for just one week... so by this Saturday they go back in the vault. Just three more days until the go back in the vault.

Sweet November - Lily Tadpole
Sweet November - Tadpole
Sweet November - Phoebe Tadpole

Here's a little excerpt for Phoebe:
"It's summer in Sweet November Land and while the mermaids are migrating off the coast we are going to hit the beach and meet some very special pixies who are always up for fun and exciting times when the weather starts to warm up. So grab a towel and slip on your flip flops 'cause we're heading down to the sandy shore where the Tadpole swim team are chillin'.

Have you ever seen a pixie surf? If not, you are in for a treat because Phoebe is the best on a board in all of Sweet November Land. Just watch as she flies atop the waves doing all sorts of trick moves as she comes back to shore. Phoebe is a little bundle of energy and a total free spirit. She likes nothing more than to spend her days swimming and surfing... always chasing that next big wave. If you are feeling up to it she would be more than happy to give you a lesson or two. ;)"

I used Sweet November - Phoebe Tadpole to create this card as well as Doodlgebug Designs 6x6 Sweet Summer pad. The dies are from My Creative Time except one, the rectangle is from Spellbinders.

I used Copic markers to color her up.

7 Kids Crafts: Bee Awesome!

Hello there Crafty Friends,

I hope you are having a wonderful day. Today I had so much fun creating a card with Sweet November - Poly Tadpole and the super versatile Pink Ink Designs - Bee-utiful clear stamp set. As soon as as I saw Poly Tadpole I had a few ideas in mind, one of those ideas was to give her wings.

Oh yea, remember that it's Vault Week over at 7 Kids Crafts with 3 images by Sweet November digital stamps. Hit the "newest items" button and you'll get right to them and don't forget these vault images are out for just one week... so by this Saturday they go back in the vault.

Sweet November - Lily Tadpole
Sweet November - Tadpole

Here's a little excerpt of Pixie Poly Tadpole's story:

"It's summer in Sweet November Land and while the mermaids are migrating off the coast we are going to hit the beach and meet some very special pixies who are always up for fun and exciting times when the weather starts to warm up. So grab a towel and slip on your flip flops 'cause we're heading down to the sandy shore where the Tadpole swim team are chillin'.

Pixie Polly is the fastest swimmer on the team and wins all the races that she enters... well, unless she challenges a mermaid, but even then it is close. And if she's not splashing in the waves Polly can be found catching a few rays on the beach sipping her favorite strawberry lemonade. She's simply a spunky little gal who is always looking for the next good time."

Okay here's my card:

Here is part of my process in photos:

I hope you can see the sparkle better.

Copic colors used:
E0000, E00, E21, E13, R21, R30
E79, E29, Y21, Y32, E57, T8
T8, T6, T4
Y18, Y21, E31
Y23, E30, Y21, E70, E71

Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle on the veins of the wings
and on the tiny little bee, in between the Bee Awesome sentiment.
Uniball-Signo Sparkling Gold for parts of the honeycombs.

Distress Oxide:
Scattered Straw, Fossilized Amber, Brushed Corduroy

Light Brown and Gambogue

I painted fragments of the honeycombs with a little bit of Brusho.
I tried to control the Brusho by mixing a tiny bit of Light Brown (not really light by the way)
and some Gamboge on a separate piece of paper. I also didn't want to went the paper very much because it's not intended for water use. Some of the crystals have other colors so I noticed that some
looked more blue, more sienna or more red. Because of the variation in colors
I only used a very little amount with a small watercolor brush.

7 Kids Crafts: Hello from the Beach

Hello Everyone!

It's Vault Week over at 7 Kids Crafts with 3 images by Sweet November digital stamps. Hit the newest button and you'll get right to them and don't forget these vault images are out for just one week.

Sweet November - Lily Tadpole
Sweet November - Tadpole

Here is some excerpt for Lily Tadpole: "It's summer in Sweet November Land and while the mermaids are migrating off the coast we are going to hit the beach and meet some very special pixies who are always up for fun and exciting times when the weather starts to warm up. So grab a towel and slip on your flip flops 'cause we're heading down to the sandy shore where the Tadpole swim team are chillin'.

Sure, little Lily loves to jump into the waves and splash around with all her pals but she may just love lounging on her beach towel even more. There's nothing more relaxing than sunning on that white sand with a good book and a friend or two to chat and gossip with. If you have the time to settle down next to her I promise that you will get an ear full of all the latest going-ons in Sweet November Land. Just be sure to borrow some of Lily's sunscreen so you don't get burned while hanging out. ;)"

Today I'm sharing the card I created with Sweet Pole - Lily Tadpole and a Make It Crafty Background rubber stamp is called The Beach. The "HELLO" writing on the sand drew/wrote in myself. I created a frame with two rectangle dies from My Creative Time. The paper is from Doodlebug called Sweet Summer still available at 7 Kids Crafts.

When I was done with the skin I put the image aside and put the markers away so I only
have the skin colors and the hair colors.

Copic Markers:

Polychromos:

Aloha!

Good Morning!

Just wanted to share a card I made with the rubber stamp I colored for Day 25: of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. This one is from the Aloha Kit. All of the stamps in the Aloha Kit are super cute and I have colored only one before this one. I had this Doodlebug paper out on  my desk so I decided to pull out my Aloha Kit- good thing I had already cut the rubber stamps too. The aloha sentiment is also from the same kit I just stamped and cut around. The rectangle die is from Our Daily Bread Designs, the small circle die is from My Creative Time and scalloped die is from

I am this deep...

Hello Everyone!

I want to share a bookmark I created using a Fathom Calmsea a Sweet November vault image as well as Bobber (the nicest looking angler fish out there.) Since she is deep in the ocean I wanted to create a dark scene and light up or glowing in certain areas with stars and with the bioluminescent anglerfish. I created the sentiment myself that says, "I am this deep..." That is to represent the deep ocean waters but also to represent how deep someone gets in a book but only stop because your eyelids won't give in anymore. haha I used lots and lots of colors that I just play around with my desk has lots of markers all over it at the moment... I was really fun to create this bookmark that I just may make another one soon.

Sweet November Stamps: Fathom Calmsea
Bobber also from Sweet November Stamps

I have this rainbow thread that I like to use for bookmarks and the Bead Landing
star with pearl charm I purchased from Michael's.
I used Nuvo Dream Drops - Dragon Scales for Bobber and
Nuvo Dream Drops - Fairy Wings for her peal belt.
You can't really see it on these photographs but I added lots
of shimmer to the stars with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen.

Here is the back

I was debating if I wanted to laminate this bookmark but
I wanted to show off the Nuvo Dream Drops and I'm not sure
if they would melt in the laminator. So I used 110 paper as a
sandwich between the color image and mermaid tail papers
from Echo park that I got from 7 Kids Crafts the paper is called
Echo Park: Mermaid Dreams. I used a tiny hole puncher
before gluing them together so I can add the little string through it.
I hope you can give this deep in the ocean look a try.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

HB2U Francisco

Good morning!

Today I'm sharing a birthday card that I made for my brother Francisco. Chico (Francisco's nickname) has a big birthday today, he turns 30 years old.

Chico is very caring, giving, helpful, thoughtful and a funcle. heehee Chico doesn't have children of his own so he likes to get little toys or books from Walmart or Thrift Town for my kids and my nephews too. The kids could of been having a bad day but when they hang out with Uncle Chico he makes them laugh with silly/corny jokes, most of the time he makes them two or three batches of quesadillas, gives them soda (which we don't buy for our home) or he gives them ice cream and blows up lots of balloons for them likes it's a somebody's birthday.

For today's card I also used my Day: 6 and Day: 26 images of The 30 Day Coloring Challenge. For Day: 6, I colored Buddy Ian from The Greeting Farm. For Day: 26 I colored the HB2U from the Mini-Remix Balloons set by The Greeting Farm and the cloud shapes are from a die I made into a stencil from Land of Oz set by Stamp AnnieThing. Then I tried to draw a little bit of the San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge peaking out from the Bay Area fog. I don't really like the fog when I'm driving but it does really look cool (when I'm not driving. ha) Another thing is that a lot of the redwood trees get watered with fog. I still haven't gone up that hill next to the Golden Gate to take that must do photoshoot that most tourist seem to do. When you look at it in person or in photographs it seems like you're up in the clouds with all of the angels. heehee or at least that's how I think of it.

Oh yea so on to the card, I popped up the balloons with foam tape and drew some thing lines with silver Copic atyou Spica only because it's not really that shimmery and makes pretty thin lines.

For A Star Student

Hello Everyone!

Just wanted to share my completed card with the image I colored for Day 24 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. To make this card I used Taylor - Think Like A Proton. I created this card for my daughter Jade. I was inspired to use a different hair color copic combination when I saw Stephen's Facebook live video while coloring Cleopatra.

I colored her up with Copic Markers.
The Background is done with Distress Oxide.
The Stars are from a Memory Box stencil called Stars Star Show
The tiny little stars are from one of the Grab and Box- I think it was the Star Wars one.
The letters are from a Tim Hotlz/Sizzix set I got on Clearance from
7 Kids Crafts clearance section.

Thank you for visiting

I will be entering my card at:

7 Kids Crafts: Flying by to say Hello

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope you're all having a marvelous day. I've completed a card with the Day: 14 image I colored for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. I finished this card on the very same day I completed the card and I've been trying to be patient to show you all. I purchased this set from  Hello Bluebird and it's called Maverick and now Kelly at 7 Kids Crafts carries these Hello Bluebird stamp and dies. I just love the storybook type of images they have and are really fun to work with especially because somehow they remind me of Calico Critters.

There are several dies in the Hello Bluebird website that go with this set
but I didn't get any of the dies. I did some serious or at least I thought it was some
serious masking until I saw Amy Young's 4th of July card and Oh my word! I was my face was
stuck with a wide eye and open mouth in admiration. Amy
has some super talent and dedication. Oh yea, back to my back, heehee After I masked everything
(including that cloud in the middle... I was just too lazy to stamp and hand cut another mask) I used
Distress Oxide: Tumbled Glass.
I found that I much prefer this color over Broken China for a soft blue "day" sky.

7 Kids Crafts: Shake, Shake, Senora!

Hello Crafty Friends!

I completed the card I was working on with Pearl Tidepool on Day 12 of the 30 Day Coloring challenge. This digital stamp is not in the Sweet November Vault so she's no longer available. Vault images are only available for usually one week. Keep an eye out for the next Vault release which is usually around the 22nd of each month. There are usually announcements on the 7 Kids Customer's Create Facebook  so if you like what you see or would like to see more, make sure that you join the group.

While I was making this card I kept thinking and playing Caribbean music either in my head or on my computer while I colored. Some Bob Marley, some Third World, some Harry Belafonte... some Reggae and some Calypso. I decided to give her some dreadlocks by adding some texture. With the salinity of the Caribbean sea and the hot sun her hair now has that sun-kissed color. The music notes are from a Hello Bluebird set. The rocks with coral and barnacles are from a retired Kraftin Kimmie / Moonlight Whispers stamp set.
