JIC DT: Shabby with SSD

Hello my crafty peeps!

IDK why it feels like I haven't been creating anything... but I have behind the scenes. I guess it doesn't feel I made anything unless it's complete and in the blog world...

Okay this week I worked on a card for http://justinspirationalchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/ using an image which was graciously sponsored by http://buysassystudiodesigns.blogspot.com/. I'm not sure of the image name but it might be Sassy French Honey.

I really tried to do "Shabby"- It's not something I typically do and even though I googled shabby I still had a hard coming up with something that looks as nice as everyone else's with this theme BUT here you go:

I used papers from KaiserCraft 6 1/2 paper pad it's called True Romance.
I colored my SSD image with Copic markers. When I was done I didn't like that my image didn't
match the flowers very well so I sort of tweaked the roses on papers to make
them match a little with the image. The roses were much prettier before but at least it matches. LOL
I distressed the edges with scissors a little on the pink paper to make it a little more shabby.

Fussy cut some of the images to add to the front and inside of the card.

I hope you can enter in this week's Shabby theme.
Sassy Studio Designs and Zuri Vice President Jr are this week's sponsors.

Thank you for visiting.

JIC July Monthly Challenge- SBS

Hello Everyone!

Loving the weather these days... here in The Bay Area the weather is unpredictable though... Some days it's really hot then it's too windy or cold so we have HAVE to put on some MORE clothes. LOL I do love the summer time birthday parties though even if it's cold... AND even if its just kids parties they're always so much fun to go to. LOL Yes I enjoy pinatas, candy and all of that fun stuff I'm really a big kid at heart.

Okay on to what I really wanted to "talk" about....
Welcome to to our July Monthly Challenge over at
http://justinspirationalchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/ (the monthly challenge is at the top of the blog post just under the header.)
This month's theme is Stitchy: Real of Faux

Our sponsors are Whoopsi Daisy and Simply Betty Stamps.

I bought my Pinata Betty Boo (click on the link and it'll take you right up to her at the SBS shop.)

I used paper from a 6X6 Recollections pad I have. I lost the cover for the pad so I don't remember sorry- I think it has to do with all seasons... not sure.
I colored my image with Copic markers and no glitter at all... can you believe that? LOL
I also used a die from from My Creative Time called Stitched Tab Die

Thank you for stoping by

JIC DT: Around the World with SSD

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to show my little card... took me forever and a day to make it. LOL I had fun except for the stopping and stopping and stopping to do errands or whatever...

I originally wanted to do something else for the background but then I went to the site and I noticed the company is out on vacation or something... aaaaaah!!!! I had to draw my own background looking at various photographs trying to not copy but take elements into my imagination to make my own Egyptian Oasis.... After I drew my image I inked it manually then scanned it so I can print more in the future.

Here is my card I made for Team A's DT at Just Inspirational Challenges.
I used Bonnie of the Nile (Cleopatra) just click on the link and you'll find her there or just go to http://buysassystudiodesigns.blogspot.com/ and look around for yourself. ;)

My completed card.
The entire image was colored with Copic Markers and I use Copic Spica Atyou sparingly.

This image is also the inspiration photo for the JIC challenge this week.

Wrote my own sentiment like a vacation photo or vacation postcard. LOL

I used a piece of left over Spectrum Noir paper, colored it and cut it like a wooden stick.

Here is the image of the Oasis I drew up. I colored it a little more at the bottom then trimmed after I decided where I was going to write my sentiment and glue my SSD girl.

Thanks for looking.

Hello Everyone!

It's been so long since I've posted. Been having this weird cough for a couple of months. Turns out it was some variant asthma and bronchitis. Yucky stuff! Spent most of the time either catching up on things because I was sleeping a lot more or trying to sleep from not feeling well on top of that my kids have been sick tool. Now I'm feeling much better but still have to finish up my meds... according to doctor... booo I hate medicine.

Sorry about that! Let's talk about the fun stuff now. LOL So here again with another Just Inspirational Challenges Design Team Challenge... The theme is SUMMER. Our sponsor this month is Time for Tea Designs and I used Butterfly Fairy. There is another digi but with a toadstool and I kind of wish I used that one. lol Next time... next time.

Although it's hard to believe I used loads of Copic Markers for this little image. I sort of put together my card before I colored my image. I just needed some color inspiration and I grabbed some papers from BoBunny Country Garden 6x6 paper pad.

Materials used:
Copic Markers
Bo Bunny: Country Garden 6x6 Pad
Prima Marketing: Say It Crystals
La La Land Crafts: Butterflies Set Die
Magnolia DooHickey Dies: Lace Coaster

JIC DT: Anything but a Square with Emma Canning digi

Hello my crafting pals and gals,

Here is another DT card for Just Inspirational Challenges with an Emma Canning Digi.

I used the digi called: Playing Dress Up. Special thanks Emma Canning for sponsoring us at JIC.

We were to make any project that wasn't a square shape... I decided to make it a Step card.

I used Kraft Cardstock paper for my base. I colored on Kraft Cardstock as well. I used Prismacolor Pencils to color my image except for the black in the hair. I used O.M.S. to blend\smooth my coloring.  I colored that with some Cool grey tones.
I tried to give the

I  used designer paper from Heart Warming Vintage Collection called Classic.  The pearls are from Prima Marketing called Say It in Crystals. The brad is from Bo Bunny.

JIC DT: Monochromatic SSD

Hello Crafty Peeps :)

Here with another Design Team A card for Just Inspirational Challenges. This week I'm very happy that we got to have Sassy Studio Designs as our sponsor. Thank you very kindly SSD (even my hubby likes the image- I think it's the hair... what do you think? [giggles])

Her name is Sexy Cupid Sassy and you can purchase her at http://buysassystudiodesigns.blogspot.com/ on blog date Feb. 15, 2014.

When I got my image I was too excited about the image and realized that I hadn't colored her as a monochrome (ooops!) LOL So I'll have to post that one another day, plus it's not a card yet. Ha! Okay, I colored this one in Sepia sort of tones with Copic markers - mostly E30's.

The Paper is from Prima Marketing: Julie Nutting "Buff A4 paper pad"
I bought from one of my favorite small business online shops:
ah she (Kina) still has it on sale 40% off. I also bought the tiny clouds from her shop
but couldn't find them anymore to give you the link.
The sepia was a little challenging for me...
I was almost getting used to coloring with the same
color combo for skin/hair/eyes
In the end even with some marker and paper booboos I had fun... just don't look too close.

Have to give credit to the poet. I found this Haiku online. I read it and I instantly loved it :)

Beautiful angel
With dark brown eyes staring with
A heart filled with love
Haiku poem by India Wilridge

I felt like it matched this image wonderfully.
Here's an extra picture- it shows the colors a little truer than the first picture
and shows the tiny dies a little better.

Don't forget to visit
and enter the challenge and of course the sponsor is Sassy Studio Designs.

Thank you so much for visiting.

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome to our first Just Inspirational Challenges DT Anything Goes Blog Hop.
If you're just paying me a visit- thank you very kindly but if you'd like to win some prizes you can hop along and start at Caroline's page. I've included a list of the hop at the bottom of the post for reference.
There will be more details about the special prizes and all of the sponsors at http://justinspirationalchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/

If you'd like to participate in the challenge:
You must be a follower at "Just Inspirational Challenges" Blog.
Leave a comment on the blog of every member of the DT participating in the blog hop.

This is the card I created with the image provided by: http://www.encinostamps.com/
The image is called Annie as a Baker (if you'd like to buy it, just click the link.)

I had to retake the photo in the daylight... although the other photo (below) wasn't so bad
just that I wanted to show the truer colors.

I love this 6x6 paper stack it's from Prima and it's called The Optimist
I bought it from Kina at the http://www.thestamproom.com/, she is just awesome seller
and has some very good deals every month. Check out her store sometime.

Here is the inside. I fussy cut part of a paper and added it to the top.
I thought it would be neat to write a note inside with an opaque jelly roll,
so I went with the black chalkboard paper.

I used the sketch on the right to help me complete my card. :)

I hope you like it. Next in line for the hop is Pam

JIC DT: Pretty Winter Wonderland

Hello My Crafty Peeps!

Just wanted to stop by and show my little card. Thought it came out kind of cute. :P

Kathryne designer for StampArt at http://www.whimsystamps.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=13_38 sponsors us at this week. The theme for us was Children.
Her images are so so so cute. Last year I struggled at making cards at the last minute soooo now I'm going to try my best at creating some wintery/Christmasy cards each month... or at least once a month right? LOL So Here's my first Christmas card of the year. Ha!

Here is the very cute image named: Alannah (if you wish to purchase her just click on the name.) I reversed the image and I also used the little bonus sentiment and bird the lovely artist Kathryne, sent included with the stamp.
I've been practicing on coloring blonde... (well practicing a little) I'm usually scared to color blonde
so I try to color with pencils when I do but this time I used my Copic markers.
Here's a little close-up (sorry for the lighting it was a night photo)

Make sure to join in on the challenge.
Reminder the theme is: Children
click on the link and you'll be directed to the challenge :)

With a Heart of Gold

Hi everyone,

Today showcasing a little fun DT work at Just Inspirational Challenges. This week's challenge is sponsored by Mitzi, the creator of Stamps By Aurora Wings and the theme is make it "Girly". Check out more of her stamps at AuroraWings etsy shop.

The image I'm using today is called: Steampunk Girl w/doll (just click the link)

I altered a journal with scrapbooking paper (Tim Holtz I believe)
then ripped up some scraps of K&Company distressed the edges and
hand wrote a fraction of a Steampunk poem I found called:
Ticking Lullaby by DJ White Spirit.
I colored my image with Copic markers. This image took me a while to color but
it was fun doing it. Loved each stage as it sort of came alive.
Here's a closer look. Probably would of had better pictures in the morning.
It's a little hard to tell but there is Gold Copic Atyou pens on the goggles
and on the lace on her hat.
The pearls in her hat were done with VivaDecor Pearl pen.
The Jolee's Boutique Steampunk stickers
I got at a really good deal at TheStampRoom,
they were on clearance.

Thank you so much for stopping by
Don't forget to link your project at
I hope you liked my project took me all weekend and a day
