7 Kids Crafts: On the way

Hello Crafty Friends,

I've been having fun coloring these super cute Dreamerland Crafts stamps this one is called On the way. I also used a flowery Doodlebug Designs 6x6 paper called Sweet Summer to stamp on and fussy cut her dress. The die is from Mama Elephant called Creative Cuts, Framed Tags Artist Mat. The grass die is from My Creative Time. For the frame I got inspiration from Nichol Spohr and used the 3M Foam Tape to the back of the frame to add dimension.

7 Kid Crafts  has the adorable  Dreamerland Crafts stamps & washi tape for 20% discount when you use code: DREAM at check out.

I imagine this little girl on her summer break. She's on her way to the ice cream
truck just down the driveway with her sweet little kitten. Her Mommy is
trying to keep up to capture this sweet moment. :D

7 Kids Crafts: Thinking of you

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are having a nice day. This time I wanted to create a card with a storybook feel to it. I'm using this super sweet stamps from Hello Bluebird sold at 7 Kids Crafts. The stamps remind me of Calico Critters that my 6 year old loves to play with and also Peter Cottontail book illustrations. I combined 2 different stamps to achieve this look. One stamp set is called McGregor's Garden set and the other is from the Maverick set. The stitched rectangle die is from My Creative Time and the Scalloped die is from Mama Elephant.

                                                                  McGregor's Garden
+
Maverick

To achieve this look I first stamped some of the images with Memento Desert Sand and masked them, then stamped one more cloud and masked it as well. After that, I used Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass for the sky. Distress Oxide Shabby Shutters for the grass and a little bit of Tumbled Glass and light touch of Pine Needles. When everything looked to my liking then I carefully peeled off the masking tape for future use and I drew in some simple grass lines with a Polychromos pencil. The paper I used is a multi-media paper so instead of watercolor as I originally planned I used Copic marker for the images. Keep in mind that this paper absorbs more of your ink but I used it only because I wasn't planning on covering big areas and I do have the refills just in case. For the eyes I used a Black Copic-multiliner pen and for the birds legs and bunny's mouth I used a Sepia Copic Multi-liner pen.

Copic markers used:
B24, B21, E11, E0000, YR12
E40, E42, E93, R20,

7 Kids Crafts: You Blow My Mind

Hello Crafty Friends,

I hope you are having fun with all of the mermaids as much as I am coloring them up and mixing them up with their marine friends. The stamp I colored up today is Treasure Tempestwind and Eddy (instead of using Eddy I used Hootie from the Sweet November - Squishy and Hootie set
For the sentiment I was inspired by Hootie and being a blowfish I had this song stuck in my head ever since I first saw him. The song is called: "Outstanding" by The Gap Band.
I just couldn't shake the idea every time I saw Hootie so I created a digi sentiment saying, "You blow my mind!" because she's so amazing to him... hehee even though in reality the blowing up for a puffer fish is actually a defense mechanism.

Keep in mind that if you want the 3 newest mermaid sets, they are only available until July 1st 2019

Copic
colors used:

E00, E11, E13, E25, R21, R20
E18, E15, E11
R22, R29, R89
B01, BG45
YG95, BG96
R05, R27, R22, R29, R89
Y08, Y15,  Y32, YR23, YR24

Then embellished with
Crystal Drops - Metallic - Mustard Gold
for the gold belt chain, earring and hair brooch
Jewel Drops - Sea Breeze
for the bubbles
Crystal Drops - Gloss - Simply White
for more texture on Hootie
Then I used
Spectrum Noir Sparkle brush pen
for the scales, bra and some on the sand

7 Kids Crafts: Current Ebbtide

Hello Crafty Friends,

The Sweet November stamps Vault has opened until July 1st, 2019 with several stamp for you to enjoy. Today I'm featuring a mermaid from the vault  of Sweet November: Current Ebbtide and Anela and a sentiment Neat & Tangled - clear stamp - Magnolia, which is currently on clearance.

I love hearing and reading little stories on the images I color. Here's a short story I found in the store for this mermaid and friend:

"Sweet November: Current Ebbtide and Anela, can be found swimming between the Sea of Japan and the Yellow Sea for most of the year. She has a very zen and mystical demeanor and she exudes a sense of peace and calm that flows out to all of the sea creatures that are lucky enough to share the waters with her. One of those friends is Anela, the angelfish, and together these two enjoy tending their undersea zen garden of anemones."

Neat & Tangled - clear stamp, Magnolia

Isn't she so beautiful! I love how angelic she looks in her pose.

I colored everything with Copic markers
then added a little bit of Distress Oxide - Broken China
around the edges. To finish off the mermaid and angel fish
I added Nuvo Dream Drops - Fairy Wings
to add dimension and a little shimmer.

Thank you very much

7 Kids Crafts: You Make Life Bloom!

Hello Everyone!

I used a Dreamerland Crafts stamp. Just an FYI all of the stamps from Dreamerland Crafts are part of o the Vendor of the Month sale at 7 Kids Crafts using code DREAM for a 20% off discount.

Nourishing Life

To make sure not to cut around the bunny's tail, ears and the boy's hat I first fussy
cut around those sections so I can use the outer bounds method with
the circle spellbinders die. I also don't have a circle that is 1/4 bigger
so I just traced the outer part of the circle die and fussy cut it.
I used Memento: Desert Sand ink (Copic safe) to stamp the image. I know I want to
cut it with a circle die so I just traced my circle die before I started coloring.
I used the Homegrown 6x6 pad from Echo Park.
I used a little distress ink for the sky
and Distress Oxide for banner Shabby Shutters and Vintage Photo
and Kraftin' Kimmie rubber stamp for the sentiment.

Easy Breezy Coneflowers... still in the game

Hello Everyone!

Today was a bit of a long day and I barely made it to Day: 3 of The 30 Day Coloring Challenge over at Kathy Racoosin's page and on IG with hashtag #thedailymarker30day
I did take a little nap but besides catching up on The Originals tv show, coloring on this Power Poppy: Easy Breezy Coneflowers is one of the only things I did just for me.

I still need to add more colors and lines for details but this will do for now.
I started with a base layer of Copic RV25 and YG17
then added color on top with Polychromos pencils.

Thank you for stoping,

7 Kids Crafts: Princess of Roses

Hello Everyone!

Happy Father's Day to all of the fathers out there!

The sun is setting and I've made it to Day: 2 of The 30 Day Coloring Challenge over at Kathy Racoosin's page and on IG with hashtag #thedailymarker30day

This regal, sweet and innocent looking lady is actually a mermaid named Siren Seafoam and Elektra (I only used the mermaid and not the eel that she comes with.) I cropped her up and enlarged her to focus on her facial features and her torso. Instead of coloring her arms and belly as skin I made it to look like clothing.

Copic Colors used:

7 Kids Crafts: Happy Birthday to You

Hello Crafty Friends!

I feel like I haven't colored in a long time and it's only been about a week. heehee I guess it was just a pretty long week being the last week of school I've been running all over the place.

Today I'm excited because today is the first day of The 30 Day Coloring Challenge over at Kathy Racoosin's page. I usually participate on IG and use hashtag #thedailymarker30day After finishing the card I took a break to cook and feed the family and I'm proud I finished the card. I got inspiration from card sketch of a Kraftin' Kimmie card I saw from http://alexiscsmith.blogspot.com/

I'm always in need of birthday cards so I used Echo Park - Lets Party 6x6 Paper Pad from 7 Kids Crafts for a fun and festive look. The stamp I used is from The Greeting Farm called HB2U Anya. I love this sentiment set called called Say Bday from the The Greeting Farm. To color the sweet  HB2U Anya stamp and add dimension to the balloons I used Copic markers. The die balloon die and the rectangle for the card layer are both from My Creative Time.

7 Kids Crafts: Dreamerland Windy Days Together

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope you're all having a wonderful day. I wanted to work with a combination of watercolors and color pencils. For this card I used a rubber stamp from Dreamerland Crafts called Windy Days Together. I wanted to show you a card with this stamp because Dreamerland Crafts and Washi Tape are both items included in the Vendor of the Month Sale over at 7 Kids Crafts just make sure to enter code: DREAM for 20% off discount.

I started with Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolors (first time using this one) on Canson Mixed Media 138 lbs paper. It's not very a heavy paper so I made sure not to over saturate it with water. After watercoloring and drying the image, I went in on certain areas with Polychromos just to outline certain areas and to give her a plaid look on her dress and hat. For the purple flowers on the bush
I used a Caran D'Ache Supracolor Watercolor pencil. The Dreamerland Crafts stamp did not come with a sentiment but I have another really cute set from The Greeting Farm called Hey Pretty Kitty and I use one from there. When I was all done I used a Picket Fence Studios - Life Changing Brush with Distress Oxide Vintage Photo to well make it look like a vintage photo. To give it a
finished look I used a rectangle die from Our Daily Bread Designs.

Winsor & Newton (Cotman) Watercolors:
Ultramarine, Chinese White, Alizarin Crimson Hue,
Viridian Hue, Yellow Ochre and Burn Umber

7 Kids Crafts: Sparkle Moondrifter

Hello again Crafty Friends!

Welcome back to my blog to showcase another fabulous stamp from the newest Sweet November release over at 7 Kids Crafts. Here is my second card using Sparkle Moondrifter + Ocean Background Builder #1 + Ocean Background Builder #2 I used Copics to color her up as well as the background. To soften up edges and emphasize on the light in the water I used PFS - Life Changing Brushes and Distress Oxide - Broken China. The sentiment is from a retired Kraftin' Kimmie stamp set and I used Versafine Clair - Shady Lane that I had purchased from 7 Kids Crafts.

Here's a slightly moving the photo so you can see some of the shine and
so you can see the Nuvo drops.
I had lots of markers on my desk and had to put a lot of them away so I
could keep working which is why I didn't get to write them down.
I used many of the colors from my previous post plus a few more
if you'd like to reference it here.
I did use a very light touch of Polychromos Rose Carmine on the
cheeks for blush.

To add shine to the tail I added
Sakura Gelly Roll- Clear Star and Sakura Gelly Roll Sky Star
For the Bubbles I added Nuvo Jewel Drops - Sea Breeze
and for the pearls I added Nuvo Dream Drops- Fairy Wings
The Nuvo drops are available at 7 Kids Crafts.

Sparkle Moondrifter, Skater and Ray
