SBS DT: Aloha & Howdy

Hey Ya'll,

How's  it going? Coming in with a brand spanking new line from Simply Betty Stamps.

I got to color two digis one for the State of Hawaii and the other State of Texas. Both were colored with copics only for Hawaii Betty I colored the background with distress inks.

Here is Hawaii Betty and she comes with that sentiment.

Distress inks used:
Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Mermalade and Fired Brick
Sand paper from Recollections

Close up

Here you can see the mess on my desk and the process before cropping.

Here is Texas Betty.
You can find her here:
http://simplybstamps.net/item_3231/Texas-Betty-Digi.htm
Paper and Embellishment are from BoBunny Anthem collection

close up

Again mess on my desk and the process before cropping.
I don't know much about Texas besides what I see on tv and food I've tasted
but this is how I image some places that would have armadillos... maybe???
I hand drew the image with Copics... just skipped pencil and inking all together and
freehand the scenery but I'm happy with it.

Thanks for looking.

SBS DT: What's Your Sign?

Hey Everyone!

Hope all is well with everyone! First, I would like to say Happy Teacher's Appreciation Week and Happy Mother's Day to all the lovely mothers.  :)

Okay on to the post, so what's your sign? LOL I remember growing up I would watch Walter Mercado give out the daily horoscope or at least Monday through Friday on Primer Impacto a Spanish television show... it was all silly but I watched it everyday religiously and there was no DVR to pause and rewind so if we missed what he said oh well. LOL Then in high school the students or at least all of the seniors would get the local newspaper for free so we always read our daily horoscopes and it was fun to read your friends' daily readings too... it was all silly but it gave us a good laugh.

I'm not into horoscope stuff anymore but I do love reading or listening to the Ancient Mythologies behind them either Greek or Roman versions. Besides the Big Dipper and Little Dipper I couldn't tell you which constellations I'm looking at unless I've been given a hint or sat there long enough to make little pictures around them. LOL Last year we went to Big Trees in Calaveras County, drove up to a mountain where an astronomer pointed out the stars with a green laser and told us the stories of these constellations and I even got to see the Milky Way. The whole experience was fascinating! Everything in it's natural state is so beautiful.... something we miss out on living in the city-  of course there is beauty in the urban life... but doesn't compare to natural beauty. :)

You can find the entire Zodiac Bettys Bundle here:
http://simplybstamps.net/item_3221/Zodiac-Bettys-Bundle-Digis.htm
or you can just search for the individual images.

Okay on to my cards. I feel like I made them sort of simple but I didn't want to hide the papers. LOL

This is Aries Betty, my sign, I was born April 15th! :)

I colored her with Copic markers.
I used papers from the Stardust Stack by DCWV.
Copics used:

Here is Cancer Betty.
She actually has straight her it's just the way I decided to color her hair makes in different.
 Same papers used.
I decided to give her an natural afro texture
Colored with Copic markers

Here you can see the shimmer on her dress and eyelids

Here is Saggittarius Betty.
Again paper from the same stack.
I noticed that the constellation of Hercules was in this page... and even though it was like smacked in the middle of the page lol I cut it up and will use the scraps for more cards.
The constellation of Sagittarius, a centaur who was a great archer was placed near the Hercules constellation to keep guard of him from Scorpius, the scorpion.

Copics used

Here is a closer look at her face.

I hope you liked my cards.

SBS DT: Brighter Days for Friends: Vicky

Hi Everyone,

How are you doing today? Hope all is well and some friends here I know have health issues or feel sort of gloomy for personal reasons... I know that sometimes in the crafting community some can get a little dramatic but in most cases most people are here to uplift your spirits to let you know that you did a really good job, to check on you, to be  your friend, to appreciate you... and many more positive things. We have many friends like that even if we've never met in person. I had a special friend, BreAnn that if you follow me on my blog then you'd know she was very special to me as well as Tanja, Corinne and few more. It is important to let them know you care for them and appreciate their friendship as often as you can... you never know when they may be called to leave this Earth....

Anyway, today we are going to cheer up our bloggy friend Craftin' Vicky. I first met her during our DT time at http://jacksonsdigitalexpressions.blogspot.com/, although there is no more DT there, the blog was left open for all to enjoy the work we all created. JDE was my first DT and I believe it was hers too. Vicky has always been ready to join on in all projects, always eager to learn and participate in as many projects or teams. I see her as a Vampire... girl you don't sleep... lol or simply put Super Craftin' Vicky. LOL

So here is my card. I hope you like it too Vicky and I hope that the girls and I have "lifted up" your spirits. Have a blessed day :)

I colored Vicky with Copics. I chose a bright bright pink for her dress and umbrella.
I fussy cut  some DCWV papers from the Street Lace stack
and colored the butterfly and flowers to match.

Slight close-up.

SBS DT: Are You Feeling Lucky?

Hey Everyone!

So back today with a fun and super cute image. her name is Kiss For Luck. You can find her here:

Ever since Betty came up with the drawing and showed us I knew what I wanted to do with her. She was so much fun to color. I colored up another one... well just the skin LOL but I finished this one. I still think I need to add a few butterflies here and there... but maybe I'll do it with the other image I started.

Look! Isn't she so cute?

You can find her here: http://simplybstamps.net/item_3121/A-Kiss-For-Luck-Digi.htm

I  used Copic markers to color her.
The Shamrock is from Silhouette store but I cut it up to make it look more wild,
the flowers I just hand cut myself then shaped and colored them.
The paper is from My Mind's Eye and I believe this one my crafty buddy
Roz sent me in a swap a couple of years ago.

Here is a close up.

I tried to give her that pucker up/ kissy face. I colored a rainbow behind her since
I knew I might mess up fussy cutting the thin frame but it works.

Check out my SBS teamies work at

SBS DT: Teen Eras 2 Release

Hey Everyone!

Just popping in to show some cards.

Today is release day over at http://simplybettystamps.blogspot.com/ hop on over and you'll see the rest of the line up. Today I'm showing a couple of projects that I have created with these super cute digi stamps.

I'm using
Arabian London Princess click on the link to find her on the shop
http://simplybstamps.net/item_3099/London-Arabian-Princess-Digi.htm

Christian The Kid click on the link to find him at the shop http://simplybstamps.net/item_3096/Christian-The-Kid-Digi.htm

Here are my projects:

Arabian London Princess
Colored Arabian London Princess with Copic markers
I used some K& Company Bling I got from JoAnne's
The Flowers are from Recollections
The Paper is from DCWV (I think)
The lace was from Walmart
I tried to give her some abs... you know from all of that belly dancing. LOL
I also tried to make her pants and sleeve sort of transparent.

Christian The Kid
Here is Christian The Kid I also colored him with Copic markers
The pebble paper is from Recollections (I think)
The Cowboy paper is actually vellum.
My Mom found this scrapbook paper I believe at a yard sale....
I wasn't sure when I was going to use this paper she got it for me years ago
but it was perfect with this image- it's from
K&Company and it's a 12x12 Cowboy Printed Embossed Vellum
For the vellum booths and hat I just fussy cut and glued them on white paper so
the colors can pop a little since they were too dark by themselfs.

Here is a close up of Christian The Kid
I tried to go for the weathered looking jeans and colored the hat so it can look old and worn.
I also made it a toy gun. heehee

King Chris

Rio Queen of the Nile

Don't forget to go to

and you will see more inspiration from all of the DT gals
they all have done a beautiful job.

SBS: Rio's 17th Birthday

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to say "Happy Birthday Rio!" Hope you are having a very special time young lady. I wish you the best in life- ALWAYS!

I used this image which Betty particularly drew just for Rio's birthday but of course you can buy it and use it for whenever you'd like to use it. Here is the card I made for Rio's birthday using

http://simplybstamps.net/item_3069/Franken-Make-Up-Rio-Digi.htm

I colored her with Copic markers
used a bunch of Halloween stuff that I've gotten in swaps. I would say all decorative
elements and papers were all given in a swap... except the roses and the doily.
Rio love Frankensten so of course I made here in her classic wedding dress only
it's a little tainted.... just to add that Halloween touch to it.
 added some blood splatter.
I like that the Halloween border is so glittery- I cut a few of them just to add
to the areas that were sort of naked on the card.

Will be mailing this out soon...

Happy Birthday Rio.

SBS DT: Dies and Judes

Hey Everyone!

Back today with a little image from Simply Betty Stamps and it's all about the Jude and the Rockers. We are to use any die cut; frame, border, cuts, anything just use any die cut from any machine or favorite die brand.

I used Baby Jude Addams that I purchased oooh so long ago and you can find him here: http://simplybstamps.net/item_1693/Baby-Jude-Addams-Digi.htm This particular digi did not come with a sentiment like most SBS digis do so I created my own with a poem I found online.

When I colored him up I was totally inspired by the baby Pubert Addams. He's too too cute but he is a handful little fella. LOL I also have a couple of Crafty friends that are Anti-Valentine so they also inspired this card... BreAnn and Tanja. Heehee.

Since the card was inspired by a movie
I used the film die which was gifted in a RAK by BreAnn McFarland.  <3 p="">
The button was given to me in a SBS Secret Pumpkin Blog Hop by Stacey Stratis.  :)
Here is a close-up of him. Too cute and has that totally lovable baby face.
I really love his expression.

Card Recipe:

 Digi Stamp: Jude Baby Addams

Coloring Medium: Copic Markers

Papers: DCWC The immortal Love Stack
and Bazzil Basics Paper for the base

Die/s: The Greeting Farm - Film & Polaroid die set

Accessories: Martha Steward Elegant Witch Fabric and pearl swirls are from Prima just colored with Copic in W9 to match colors of the paper/clothing.

Thank you so much for visiting.

SBS DT: Color Combo

Hey Everyone,

Simply Betty Stamps is bringing back the Teen Scene Steampunks! These cuties will be making their way onto the site something this month.  There was a contest going on at Simply Betty Stamps Fan Page and you just have to use your favorile color or favorite color combo.

I love all of the colors... rainbows... iridescent anything.... but for this card I chose a color that pops for me that I enjoy buying and that is HOT PINK and black.

I used My Funky Valentine Betty (will add the link when it's back in the shop) in the meanwhile you can look around in the teens section if you like this style of digis.   Here is the link http://simplybstamps.net/category_331/Teen-Scene-Digis.htm

Okay here's my card.

I colored her with Copics. I printed her pretty small
and took me a lot longer to color but it came out alright in the end.
I used Bazzill Basic cardstock for the base and The Sweet Lace cardstock from DCWV
the steampunk gear dies are from Prickley Pear and I bought them here  http://www.thestamproom.com/search.aspx?manufacturer=24
The big heart box is actually the one she's holding
I just flipped it, enlarged, fussy cut it and then I covered the hand
with some of the design paper I used as the back ground.
Here is a close up of the digi.
Took me a while to color it only because it's much much smaller than what I'm used to coloring.

Thank you for stopping by.

SBS DT: Favorite SBS image

Hey Crafty Peeps!

Happy New Year!!! I hope you all had a beautiful holiday season. Today I'm sharing my little card... I colored the image a looong time ago. LOL So the challenge over at Simply Betty's Fan page is to use your favorite SBS image and it's an anything goes challenge.... Woohoo! Crafty Freedom! LOL
The crazy part is that I have sooooo many that I would call favorites it's hard to choose just one but I chose this one since it was already colored  up and all...

The Challenge details can be found here:
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.1022940871056634&type=1
You have until  Thurday January 7th 11:59PM PST- it has to be uploaded to that specific album.

Her name is Doctor Brittany and you can find her here http://simplybstamps.net/item_1381/Doctor-Brittany-Digi.htm

The hair looks crazy to color but it's the fun part for me. :)
Whenever I get a chance (aka time) I try to challenge myself with something
a little more difficult to color. I perhaps may be easy for someone else though...
you just have to give it a try.
I colored her up with Copic markers and I tried to match it with
the little ribbon Corinne sent it to me in a Simply Betty Swap,
You can check out that blog post here:
My mom found me those pretty papers from a either a yard sale :)
The papers were still new and wrapped and the recollections cardstock I have
matched it perfectly.
The little butterfly dies are from Prickley Pear and I bought
that little die set from one of my favorite online shops

Thank you for stopping by.

SBS DT: Winter Beauties

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day or Week. We have just been lounging most of the time... I did a little crafty shopping well more for organization.... wanted to do a whole lot more... but only in my dreams right?

Okay so it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.... Do I keep saying that with every Christmas card I make? LOL

Here you go:
For my first card, I used Bettina.
We are to use lots of sparkle. (Glitter glue or just plain glitter)
I colored her with Copics, the snowy background I colored with Distress inks
but since it's not a rubber stamp to stamp on another sheet of paper to mask it off I used
masking fluid. I covered her up completely before coloring... I learned my lesson...
the only thing I noticed it's that when I removed the masking fluid the paper looked a little
yellow... but I think it may have been from the distress in from seeping in or maybe not...
In the end after I colored her up you can't see any of the yellowing and the only part exposed
now is the sclera but didn't yellow at all. There were tiny areas when there where no color
around the border so what I did was tried to roll so of the masking fluid and used a tiny bit of
distress ink to cover white areas... I still missed a few spot when I removed all of the masking fluid
so I looked for the closed copic color and now you can barely notice the difference.
I used Stickles glitter glue for the snow in the background as well as the falling snow dots.
All of the he papers are from Recollections and it's called Christmas
I tried to match her outfit to the papers.
________________________________________________________________________________

For my second card, I used Jackie.
The challenge is to use 2 designer papers and ribbon!
I colored her with Copic markers and tried a salt and pepper gray hair look...
did that with Sakura gelly roll pen.
The die is from My Creative Time it's called Scalloped Stitched Oval Dies.
The paper is from American Crafts called Holiday.

 detail of the clothing....
Close up of the face so you can see the frames and the lens I used glossy
accents to make them look like real eye glasses.

Well I hope you liked my cards.

Thank you for stopping by.

SBS DT: Hot Hot Christmas

Hi Everyone.

I'm a little behind on posting through blogland but I have posted these a few days ago (Saturday 15th) on facebook though the SBS fan page, Kit  & Clowder and Digi galore. So if you have seen these I hope I don't bore you with the same stuff. LOL Just wanted to share a little bit of the process that goes in the way I made my cards.
So here we go. Were to use some Summer 1950's styled beach babes and turn them into Christmas cards. You can buy them singular or you can buy the bundle and I'll share the links with you.

So here is the bundle (4 images and sentiments):  http://simplybstamps.net/item_3000/Summer-Babes-Digi-Bundle.htm

So now to the image I used for the first card:
Summer Time Betty here's the link:  http://simplybstamps.net/item_3004/Summer-Time-Betty-Digi.htm

I used Copic markers to color her up.
I also drew my own background and lined it with a Copic multiliner to give it that
Christmas in the Caribbean/Central America, Hawaii,
or Florida. LOL Anywhere but where I'm at now... where it's co-co-co-cold.
Don't get me wrong I do love to go see the snow and make real snowmen and snow angels and what not... I just can't deal with cold for too long.

YouTube...

This one is Anne '50's Summer Beauty and here's the link: http://simplybstamps.net/item_3002/Anne-50s-Summer-Beauty-Digi.htm
Same as the previous image I drew my own background except the palm tree... I did add the string or Christmas lights though. This was inspired by Sandy Allnock's Snoopy Video
I used some different colors because I didn't have what she had but the technique was all her idea.
Here's a little process video on Youtube.

Thank you for visiting.

SBS DT: Thanks Rachel and Furry pals

Hello there crafty world!

Hope you all are having a good day/evening. Today I'm showcasing a thank you card that I made using http://simplybstamps.net/item_2999/Rachel-and-Furry-Pals-Digis.htm. Isn't she so pretty? I'm not a dog person... kind of scared of dogs but I'll sit still like a totem pole just so they won't bark or bite. Even though I'm a tad bit scared of dogs there are some that have been very sweet and very very cute. I have a few friends who have doggie friends or doggie kids really LOL and they were very nice to me even though I get a little paranoid around them.

So enough of that... here is my card and I really tried to give the furry pals a nice coat. The colors were inspired by one of my online crafty buddies BreAnn's doggie kids. heehee.

This card I have made with a friend in mine.

I colored this image with copic maers
I used flowers that were sent to me  by Roz and some by Carmen.
Here is a close up.

This card is for a PHriend (BreAnn McFarland) who was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension as
a child but still living with this illness.
Also the reason I chose these colors. Periwinkle is the official color but different purples can
be used to make cards or be worn for awareness.
You can learn more about this illness at  http://www.phassociation.org/AwarenessMonth

BreAnn had sent me a RAK twice already and I've been making some cards for her along with some crafty goodies. This card is for her but some will be for her to give to her PHriends.
I hope you like my card.

Thank you very much for visiting!!!

SBS DT: Day of the Dead Blog Hop

Hello Everyone!

It's November 1st and it's The Day of Dead. It's celebrated differently in many countries but it all comes down to remembering your deceased loved ones and honoring their lives. In this part of the country the most known and widely celebrated are the Mexican traditions of The Day of the Dead.
They create altars with photos of their loved one, bake bread or other pastries, make sugar skulls, candles with saints and lots and lots of flowers. Everything looks very colorful and beautiful to honor their loved one.  In my native country I don't remember much but I do remember my mother always lit a candle for my grandmother and I do remember the graves and tombs are always cleaned and decorated with colorful (either handmade or real) flower crowns and everything is made to look fresh. Music is celebrated and people dance and dance to celebrate life. In my country there are actually two days to celebrate. One day is to celebrate All of the dead and then the second day is to celebrate the ones that died as children or virgins....

It's a hop and I'm the last on the list so make sure to start http://simplybettystamps.blogspot.com/ and hop along to see everyone's creations! The hop list is posted below the cards.

Well too much chit chat... let me show you these beauties Betty came up with.
This one is called Dia De Los Muertos Betty and it can be found here:
http://simplybstamps.net/item_2991/Dia-De-Los-Muertos-Betty-Digi.htm

This one was actually my favorite one to color but I felt I ruined her face a little
by making it a no lines coloring.
Here are a few details and to see how dimensional the card really is.

This one is Lenore Forevermore and you can find it here:
http://simplybstamps.net/item_2990/Lenore-Forevermore.htm
I took flowers from a flower garland (Petaloo) I got in a Halloween Swap last year. I thought
I had some serape paper but I'm not sure if I bought it or not... LOL maybe I just looked at it so
many times... so I ended up changing my mental card design.
Here is the close up of the sugar skull face I drew on her.
We were to create our own face Sugar Skull face paint, use a lace trim and use bright colors. LOL If you click on the Lenore Forevermore then you'll see the difference.

For this last image Sugar Skull Betty
http://simplybstamps.net/item_2883/Sugar-Skull-Betty-Digi.htm
The challenge was... Anything Goes :)

Here is a close up of the face.
