SBS DT: Winter Beauties

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day or Week. We have just been lounging most of the time... I did a little crafty shopping well more for organization.... wanted to do a whole lot more... but only in my dreams right?

Okay so it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.... Do I keep saying that with every Christmas card I make? LOL

Here you go:
For my first card, I used Bettina.
We are to use lots of sparkle. (Glitter glue or just plain glitter)
I colored her with Copics, the snowy background I colored with Distress inks
but since it's not a rubber stamp to stamp on another sheet of paper to mask it off I used
masking fluid. I covered her up completely before coloring... I learned my lesson...
the only thing I noticed it's that when I removed the masking fluid the paper looked a little
yellow... but I think it may have been from the distress in from seeping in or maybe not...
In the end after I colored her up you can't see any of the yellowing and the only part exposed
now is the sclera but didn't yellow at all. There were tiny areas when there where no color
around the border so what I did was tried to roll so of the masking fluid and used a tiny bit of
distress ink to cover white areas... I still missed a few spot when I removed all of the masking fluid
so I looked for the closed copic color and now you can barely notice the difference.
I used Stickles glitter glue for the snow in the background as well as the falling snow dots.
All of the he papers are from Recollections and it's called Christmas
I tried to match her outfit to the papers.
________________________________________________________________________________

For my second card, I used Jackie.
The challenge is to use 2 designer papers and ribbon!
I colored her with Copic markers and tried a salt and pepper gray hair look...
did that with Sakura gelly roll pen.
The die is from My Creative Time it's called Scalloped Stitched Oval Dies.
The paper is from American Crafts called Holiday.

 detail of the clothing....
Close up of the face so you can see the frames and the lens I used glossy
accents to make them look like real eye glasses.

Well I hope you liked my cards.

Thank you for stopping by.

TSC DT: Messenger Angel

Good morning Everyone!

I hope all is well. Today is the start of my kids' Thanksgiving break....  Seriously.... they didn't have to take Wednesday out.... LOL My sanity is going to go out the window.... I'll have to pray on that. LOL

Okay, on to my card. I wanted to make a CAS religious Christmas card... but then it was too CAS so I added a bow.

I used http://thestampingchef.com/Shop/downloads/angelic-angel-ann/ to show the messenger angel... I supposed most angels in the Bible that I have heard of have masculine names and are some very powerful beings.... but I really wanted to use this image in this case.

I used Distress inks and a ripped up piece of scratch paper to form the clouds.
There were specific colors I wanted to use to represent a messenger angel At least for the clothing:
A belt of fine gold. I used Copic Atyou pens to add some shimmer on top of the Copic coloring.
The clothes white as snow but I added strays of color to show the radiance or glowing and shimmering  that comes from an angel.
The yellow light shinning in the background clouds is also with distress inks.
The gold ribbon was a thrift store find- my mom got it for me. :D
Close up of the face and wings
this photo was to show the shimmer from the gold Copic Atyou pen.
The die is from Our Daily Bread Designs and you can find it here:  https://www.ourdailybreaddesigns.com/index.php/elegant-oval-dies.html

This is from Luke 2. Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
14 “Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
15 So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. 17 Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. 18 And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.
I hope you liked my card.

Happy Birthday Sharman

Good Evening Everyone!

Today a crafty friend celebrates another birthday, her name is Sharman.

Sharman is a special lady that I have come to meet in the crafty world. She is always so gracious and has lots and I mean lots of words wisdom. HeeHee She is a beautiful person inside and out, a mother, grandmother, a person that loves the Lord and a very good friend -there is no doubt. :)

Happy Birthday Sharman!

This image was drawn up by Betty as a commission for her and when I had the chance I made sure I bought it myself.  :)  You can find her here http://simplybstamps.net/item_2532/Sharman-Digi.htm

I colored her with Copics and Sakura GellyRolls

Okay, I know the way I made the card is sort of Springy... and not of the current season... but it's because I know Sharman loves flowers; in particular Calla Lilies. I didn't use Calla Lilies this time but I used these Jolee's boutique 3D stickers with orchids and I hope she likes them as much as I do.
The birthday greeting Starform Stickers were sent to me by BreAnn McFarland. :D Thank you!

Here you can see the shimmer in the orchids and the shine from sentiment and vine swirls.

I hope you liked me card.

Happy 30th Birthday Louise

Hey there Crafty World!

It seems like forever since the last time I posted. Had to sort of take a break. Been a little sick- just a cold but I'm a lot better now.

So today I'm showcasing a card for Louise; she's my design team mate on SBS.

We decided to surprise her with a card on her 30th birthday. I hope it's fun and very memorable for her as well as surrounded by the ones she loves and love her back.

You can find her here: http://simplybstamps.net/item_3015/Louise-30th-Bday-Digi.htm

Here is my make for it:

I think my phone lens was a bit dirty because it's not very sharp.
Will have to take another photo during sunlight.
I Use Copic markers and Sakura Gelly Rolls to color my image.
The paper is from Recollections: Mercury Glass/Christmas paper pad.
As soon as I saw the paper on the cover I wanted it... then I flipped through the pages and I had to think of what I could take out from my shopping basket because
I was definitely taking this paper home with me. LOL
Here is a better look at her face.

Inside joke:

Are you slightly comforted
by the fact that if you
write your age as a
Roman numeral, it becomes
Naughty...?
Happy XXX
:)

I hope you liked it and I hope Louise likes it as well.

Thank you for visiting.

SBS DT: Hot Hot Christmas

Hi Everyone.

I'm a little behind on posting through blogland but I have posted these a few days ago (Saturday 15th) on facebook though the SBS fan page, Kit  & Clowder and Digi galore. So if you have seen these I hope I don't bore you with the same stuff. LOL Just wanted to share a little bit of the process that goes in the way I made my cards.
So here we go. Were to use some Summer 1950's styled beach babes and turn them into Christmas cards. You can buy them singular or you can buy the bundle and I'll share the links with you.

So here is the bundle (4 images and sentiments):  http://simplybstamps.net/item_3000/Summer-Babes-Digi-Bundle.htm

So now to the image I used for the first card:
Summer Time Betty here's the link:  http://simplybstamps.net/item_3004/Summer-Time-Betty-Digi.htm

I used Copic markers to color her up.
I also drew my own background and lined it with a Copic multiliner to give it that
Christmas in the Caribbean/Central America, Hawaii,
or Florida. LOL Anywhere but where I'm at now... where it's co-co-co-cold.
Don't get me wrong I do love to go see the snow and make real snowmen and snow angels and what not... I just can't deal with cold for too long.

YouTube...

This one is Anne '50's Summer Beauty and here's the link: http://simplybstamps.net/item_3002/Anne-50s-Summer-Beauty-Digi.htm
Same as the previous image I drew my own background except the palm tree... I did add the string or Christmas lights though. This was inspired by Sandy Allnock's Snoopy Video
I used some different colors because I didn't have what she had but the technique was all her idea.
Here's a little process video on Youtube.

TTPH DT: Thankful with TSC

Hey Everyone!

Just a quick post to show my card for Through The Purple Haze DT. This week we are being sponsored by The Stamping Chef and I'm using an image I bought a whiiiiile back she's called
Leg or Breast? It's on sale for $1.50 since The Stamping Chef also has a monthly challenge on their Facebook fan page. The TSC monthly theme is "Thanks" and the Recipe is Ribbon and Kraft card AND use the 'Leg or Breast?' image. Here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TSCRecipes/  The image is very sexy. I had a different idea on how I wanted to use her but I went a little mainstream and just made it a 'Thank you' card instead.

So here's my card:

I colored with Copics... and since I was doing Native American skin I tried out different colors
didn't even write them down since I have a tough time blending. I seriously need to practice with more colors. I have like 3-4 combos down and that's what I stick to. LOL
I Also did some experimenting. I tried to mask the image
but the black ink started to bleed and paranoia kicked.... argggg!
When I removed it it wasn't as bad as it looked but still a little bit got messed up.

I used this paper stack I bought like 2 years ago I think. It's called Garden Harvest by Recollections.
It's Kraft paper mixed with glitter! Well most of the pages anyway. It's cute.

The 'thanks' die is from the Happy Thoughts Stamp set at

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas... sort of- so I felt like doing a little bit of Christmassy coloring.

I used The Stamping Chef'sFantine Oh Dear, My Deer. (Just click on the links and it'll take you to the shop)

I colored my image with Copic markers and used a Sakura gelly roll for the eye lights.
The die is from The Greeting Farm
The design papers are from Martha Stewart's Wonderland 12x12 Paper pad
Here's a close up of the digi
Here's a close up of the glittery paper :)

SBS DT: Tanja Girl Power

Hello there my Crafty Peeps!

Good morning (afternoon/evening)!

Today I'm showcasing Tanja Sexy Heroine. I colored her inspired by one of my online crafty buddy Tanja's fave characters Black Cat. I probably mistaken her so many times with Catwoman by just the photos/illustrations of her... which is one of my favorite characters. Similar personality of course but Black Cat has powers and likes Spiderman I hear.... I'm on Team Batman. LOL :P

You can find Tanja Sexy Heroine here:
http://simplybstamps.net/item_2996/Tanja-Sexy-Heroine-Digi.htm

I colored her with Copic markers.
I had a few issues coloring her because maybe i use these colors way too much
and now they're all gummy and gunky.... it's making me sad. I have to do some intense cleaning
or some shopping which I try to avoid because funds aren't always there for crafty stuff.
I created the sunset/night sky with Distress Inks
I freehand drew the suspension bridge... (didn't even use a pencil first and I should have.)
It's supposed to be San Francisco's Golden Gate.
LOL  don't laugh at how wonky it is.

Sorry it's such a short post. Time for church!

Have a good time everyone.

Thanks for visiting.

SBS DT: Thanks Rachel and Furry pals

Hello there crafty world!

Hope you all are having a good day/evening. Today I'm showcasing a thank you card that I made using http://simplybstamps.net/item_2999/Rachel-and-Furry-Pals-Digis.htm. Isn't she so pretty? I'm not a dog person... kind of scared of dogs but I'll sit still like a totem pole just so they won't bark or bite. Even though I'm a tad bit scared of dogs there are some that have been very sweet and very very cute. I have a few friends who have doggie friends or doggie kids really LOL and they were very nice to me even though I get a little paranoid around them.

So enough of that... here is my card and I really tried to give the furry pals a nice coat. The colors were inspired by one of my online crafty buddies BreAnn's doggie kids. heehee.

This card I have made with a friend in mine.

I colored this image with copic maers
I used flowers that were sent to me  by Roz and some by Carmen.
Here is a close up.

This card is for a PHriend (BreAnn McFarland) who was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension as
a child but still living with this illness.
Also the reason I chose these colors. Periwinkle is the official color but different purples can
be used to make cards or be worn for awareness.
You can learn more about this illness at  http://www.phassociation.org/AwarenessMonth

BreAnn had sent me a RAK twice already and I've been making some cards for her along with some crafty goodies. This card is for her but some will be for her to give to her PHriends.
I hope you like my card.

Thank you very much for visiting!!!

SBS DT: Day of the Dead Blog Hop

Hello Everyone!

It's November 1st and it's The Day of Dead. It's celebrated differently in many countries but it all comes down to remembering your deceased loved ones and honoring their lives. In this part of the country the most known and widely celebrated are the Mexican traditions of The Day of the Dead.
They create altars with photos of their loved one, bake bread or other pastries, make sugar skulls, candles with saints and lots and lots of flowers. Everything looks very colorful and beautiful to honor their loved one.  In my native country I don't remember much but I do remember my mother always lit a candle for my grandmother and I do remember the graves and tombs are always cleaned and decorated with colorful (either handmade or real) flower crowns and everything is made to look fresh. Music is celebrated and people dance and dance to celebrate life. In my country there are actually two days to celebrate. One day is to celebrate All of the dead and then the second day is to celebrate the ones that died as children or virgins....

It's a hop and I'm the last on the list so make sure to start http://simplybettystamps.blogspot.com/ and hop along to see everyone's creations! The hop list is posted below the cards.

Well too much chit chat... let me show you these beauties Betty came up with.
This one is called Dia De Los Muertos Betty and it can be found here:
http://simplybstamps.net/item_2991/Dia-De-Los-Muertos-Betty-Digi.htm

This one was actually my favorite one to color but I felt I ruined her face a little
by making it a no lines coloring.
Here are a few details and to see how dimensional the card really is.

This one is Lenore Forevermore and you can find it here:
http://simplybstamps.net/item_2990/Lenore-Forevermore.htm
I took flowers from a flower garland (Petaloo) I got in a Halloween Swap last year. I thought
I had some serape paper but I'm not sure if I bought it or not... LOL maybe I just looked at it so
many times... so I ended up changing my mental card design.
Here is the close up of the sugar skull face I drew on her.
We were to create our own face Sugar Skull face paint, use a lace trim and use bright colors. LOL If you click on the Lenore Forevermore then you'll see the difference.

For this last image Sugar Skull Betty

The challenge was... Anything Goes :)
