My book of nightmares

Good morning!

Hope everyone is doing great! Today I'm joining as Guest DT for Simply Betty Stamps. Last month I won a couple of little trivia questions Betty gave out at the SBS Fan page... This one was Mr. Gibbs from Pirates of the Caribbean.

If you're just visiting me... Thank you very kindly if you'd like to hop along to see what the SBS DT and other Guest DT created just go to the start:
http://simplybettystamps.blogspot.com/2013/09/creeps-and-zombies-walking-around.html

Okay here's the image..... BUT let me warn you it's super scary. LOL it's scared me... when I opened the file I was thinking what in the world will I make with that? LOL I tried my best to make it look "dark" even though hubby says it's not dark enough (he was talking about my color choices but he loves the image.) Ha!

Okay, okay, okay.... here it is---
This image was drawn by Abigail Larson for SBS.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! Screams of horror Right? That's how I felt. LOL

I decided to cover up a composition journal and make it into a "nightmare journal..."
I colored my entire image with copic markers and I freehand wrote:
"My Book of Nightmares" on the scrolls.
Betty definitely put a challenge on me with this image. LOL
I decided to give this to my husband... Lets see if I can read what he writes... heehee.

The Skullhead Babes

Hi Everyone!

Here with another card for Simply Betty Facebook Fan group. This was a freebie for 24 hours but you can purchase from here: http://simplybstamps.net/item_2305/Bonnie-Skullbabe.htm

Her name is Bonnie Skullhead drawn by Betty Roberts
The challenge was to use Green, Pink and Black.

I used Copics on everything except the green coloring or
the green and pink hair strands.
Derby girls are rough so I made a little bit of scrape and bruising
on her thigh. I also drew ripped up a fishnet hose.

Hope you like my creation.

Hugs,

Katya Bess

You're the apple of me eye

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all are having a wonderful day. Just finished a card that I stated working on yesterday... My little brother came to visit the kids and me and didn't get to finish. The challenge from TGF: FFF is to "Mix It Up." All you need to do is use parts from two different TGF images to create one.

I used Cheeky Howdy for the head. http://thegreetingfarm.com/rubber-stamps/cheeky-cherry-collection/cheeky-howdy.html and I used Cheeky Geeky http://thegreetingfarm.com/rubber-stamps/cheeky-cherry-collection/cheeky-geeky.html for the body and clothes. I love The entire Cheeky Cherry Collection rubber stamps and I'm only missing one: Cheeky Glamour  oh yea and if TGF makes Cheeky Kitty in rubber I'm so getting that one too but I have it in digi. (Gotta save up my pennies.) LOL

I made this for my daughter, Jade, she'll be 6 years old in a few days
and she'll be starting 1st grade in about a week.
I made a little file folder and used an index card to make fake school writing paper. LOL
I had some super cute little paper clips so I used one of the gold ones.
I hand wrote the sentiment.

I used 365 Cards Sketch

I hope you liked it.

Thank you so much for visiting.

Good Girl Gone Bad: Spika

Hi Everyone!

Hopefully you all had a wonderful Saturday! Today we mostly had a ball with my son, Xzavier, who turned 4 years old today. He was counting down the days since last years birthday LOL. Finished my card earlier but hadn't gotten online that much as I started getting these weird and horrible headaches (that was the only thing that sucked today.) Anyway, won't keep you long with my chatter... Here is one of Betty Roberts' mermaids Spika the "Evil Mermaid." To me she just looks like she's a little bad... maybe mad but not evil. LOL

You can get here here:
 http://simplybstamps.net/item_2268/Spika-the-Bad-Mermaid-Digi.htm
I bought her as part of the mermaid bundle http://simplybstamps.net/item_2275/Mermaids-Bundle-Digis.htm not realizing this was also the freebie at the Simply B Stamps monthly chanllege. LOL Too quick to buy eh?

Okay on to the challenge "Good vs. Evil" to choose the good/nice one or choose the evil/mad looking one. I had to challenge myself make my mermaid a bada**. ha!

I drew a mouth cavity of a Shark and it's Teeth (30,000 teeth or whatever it may be they get in their lifetime LOL) as her little "cave" for all of her kills... and her treasure.

The skull and skeleton paper is from Delicious Doodles and it's called Pile O' Bones
http://deliciousdoodles.blogspot.com/2013/07/pile-o-bones-paper.html

I drew the treasure box myself but bought a the skull with crown is from Rick St. Dennis "Treason Skull" https://www.etsy.com/listing/128011357/treason-skull-digi?ref=pr_shop
I used Copic markers, Spectrum Noir marks and Prismacolor pencils
to color my images. The bones I printed on a cream cardstock then sort of shaded with Distress ink
and or with prismacolor pencils.
I added gems and Copic Atyou glitter to make it more fun
I hope you liked my bad girl mermaid I had so much fun coloring her.
Go to the link bellow at the end of the challenge you can vote for your favorite mermaid ;)

Hi Everyone!

Hope you all are having an awesome day.

This is not a new project (I colored her up around May but sent it around June- yes I'm horrible about sending cards on time working on that) but wanted to share anyway. One of our bloggy friend's sister was diagnosed with breast cancer and is still battling with the effects of it. A bunch of us from the Simply Betty Fan group sent her cards Using Simply B's image.

This particular one is called "Cindy for the Cause."

I enlarged her and cropped her out then added the sentiment to the shirt.

I colored my image with Spectrum Noirs.

I hope she liked my card and hope she is doing much better each day.

Thanks for stopping by.

TGF Kid Jade

Hi Everyone,

This is a card created by my very colorful daughter Jade, who is 5 years (well 6 in one month.)
I told her about the TGF Kidz challenge and she was over the moon or at least somewhere over the rainbow. Ha-ha! I asked her if she wanted to make a card for anyone in particular and she wanted to make a card for her friend BFF Estrella. I gave her a pre-scored card and she chose the papers, words and stickers from a little stationary set an aunt gave her.

Jade used The Greeting Farm (TGF) Rubber stamp: Anya Treats and she said because she loves cupcakes. LOL http://thegreetingfarm.com/rubber-stamps/anya-ian/anya-treats.html

Jade used my Berol Prismacolor Set.

 Here she is at work.

Ummm she was way too excited about using those old big scissors.
Here's the completed card again.
Her inside note :)

Hope you enjoyed Jade's card. I think it came out too cute. We'll mail it out tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday: Dead in dog years

Hello everyone!

Here's my smart a** birthday card in Celebration of Simply B Stamps blog birthday. For this card the the challenge was to make a "Smart A#$ card! Meaning make a card suitable for that smart mouthed person in your life, nothing sweet out of these packed with attitude images! Make it funny, sarcastic, just not sweet and endearing!  Heehee I don't use profanity "in person" but I had fun with that sentiment... it's not mine I found it online.

I used Corinne digi which was given away last December for Corinne's birthday. You can get it here:

http://simplybstamps.net/item_1931/Corinne-Digi.htm

I used colored pencil to color the door which was from digi darla's and Corinne was colored with Spectrum Noir markers and the wiener dog is from the Silhouette store. The sentiment I typed that on my computer using Open Office as well as the chat/thought bubble.
I had a rough time trying to complete the cards... you all know family life... When I start to get lazy everyone is chillin' as soon as I head to my crafty corner everyone wants to be hungry, poop, fight, argue, get hurt, whine and bug. LOL It happens to me every time. BUT all in all it was super fun creating these cards and I'm so glad some were already colored from before or cut out since I love fussy cutting my images. Thank you for stopping by. A Teen Dark Knight's Birthday

Hi back again!

Hope everyone is having a fantastic day. Just posting another card I created this week using another Simply B Stamp. Joining Day 16 Challenge with Corinne Jones and Sharon Brown I chose the second challenge: For Teen Scene Hollywood: We were to recreate a movie scene on our project.

The stamp is called Christian the Dark Hero and you can get it here:
http://simplybstamps.net/item_1504/Christian-the-Dark-Hero-Digi.htm

I love Batman movies and my favorites are the newer Batman versions especially The Dark Knight. In this scene The Joker crashes a party then grabs Rachel and tries to intimidate her with his knife and tells one of his thousand stories of how he got his "smiley face" but then Batman (Bruce Wayne) comes to her rescue. The Joker of course always wants Batman to take off his mask.

Since this is a more kid friendly image I felt like the party should have more kid friendly beverages and decorations. I fast drew the party scene myself since I couldn't find a table digi background that wasn't girly or too much stuff going on. Drawing my own backgrounds and elements is another favorite thing for me to add to my cards or projects. I colored the background with Copics and Batman with both Copic and Spectrum Noir markers. The Sentiment, I found online but typed it up on my computer and cut the endges to make it look like torn edges. I hand cut up an image of a bat then inked the edges to make them look like sharp edges... this is my version of a Batarang. Silly, I know. LOL

Hope you like my creation. Thanks for stopping by,

Katya Bess

Bond Girl Birthday

Hi Everyone!

The image I colored a whiiiile ago but finally made it into a card. I'm sharing this card for "Birthday Celebration Day 20 with Corinne & Sharon." Betty and her DT gals are having fun challenges all month long. The challenge Show your favorite technique and anything goes as long as you use a Simply B Stamp.  (Easy enough right?) The prize is for $10 Gift Certificate to Simply B Stamps store. This one is drawn by Alicia Bel for Simply Betty Stamps.
I love these stamps! the Bond girl is from Simply B Stamps (Retired image in digi form Betty has them back Saturday June 29th through July 3rd in collection sets) but the background is from Make It Crafty. I created the sentiment on my computer and just added a little glitter with Copic Atyou pens. The image was colored with Copic and Spectrum Noir Markers. My favorite technique is merging stamps or adding a background. Thanks for visiting. I hope you liked it.
