Breast Cancer Awareness Month is around the corner

Hello Crafty friends,

I hope all is well with everyone. Today I have a special card that I worked on using a Robert Jackson digi.
The Inks and Such challenge this week at http://jacksonsdigitalexpressions.blogspot.com/
is use PINK or the Breast Cancer Awareness theme.
Chana along with several other JDE designers have pledge to donate $0.25 to Breast Cancer Research for every entry on this week's challenge. Please post on your blogs, facebook and or twitter let your crafty friends know to join in on the challenge.

Here is my card and envelope to go with the card.
I used Robert Jackson's two digi images
Sunday Hat and Rose

For the envelope I only used the Rose and cut off the stem.
If you are going to use glue such as glossy accents or any wet glue make sure not
to glue it on the flap area with adhesive because it will make it wet enough to seal
the envelope...

I colored with Copic and Spectrum Noir markers.
I used a cuttlebug embossing folder
The Bible verse was printed on regular printer paper. I cut
several pages to add to the 3D look on the book. I used
Spellbinders labels seven (2nd to largest die) I cut the pink
part of the book with the largest die but then it seemed too large
so I trimmed it down with scissors.

I shrank the rose and printed 3 times then cut a few petals
to give it that 3D look.

I hope you enjoyed your visit. Make sure to participate in this week's challenge at
http://jacksonsdigitalexpressions.blogspot.com/
this week's sponsor is at JDE is Bugaboo Stamps.

Remember both women and men get breast cancer.
So I won't say get the "girls" checked (this time). Just make sure to do self exams and get checked
by a professional especially if you have a family history.

Here are some fun Breast Cancer Slogans you can use on your card or project:

Big or Small save them all

A feel a day keeps the doctor away

Thanks for the mammories

Stop the war in my rack!

Feed your faith and your fears will starve to death

Show you care, be aware

Real men wear pink

Have fun making something crafty and thank you so much for visiting.

11th Anniversary card for my hubby

Hello there crafting friends,

I have a card for you with a little bit of  an "adult humor" heehee the image is sweet... just my mind is a little... well twisted LOL. My hubby and I have been together since high school and married 3 years ago. So when some of our old buddies see us they think we've been together for eternity. Our wedding vows say to be together "until death do us part" and we were thinking like wth! lol I still want to be with you beyond that (is that weird?) So what perfect image to use the Addams couple heehee. Wait, did they ever die in the story? I don't know... but I thought the sentiment was rather funny and I know he'll like it. Enough rambling here is the card:

The digi images are from Simply Betty Stamps.
Christian Addams digi
and Betty Addams digi

I made him tall he's 6'2'' and I'm... well I'm under 5' lol. I flipped
Betty Addams so she looks like she's looking at Christian Addams.
(Note: Christian's hair is not curly/wavy but I have permission from
Betty Roberts the owner of Simply Betty stamps for
changing only the hair texture for this particular card)

This is when I was done coloring.
All skin tones and flowers are done with Copic markers
and the the clothing is done with Spectrum Noirs.

I used a recipe for this card from Designed to Color
but we had to hunt for the recipe ingredients.
I hope I got them all correct.

  • A colored image: I colored Christian Addams and Betty Addams
  • Something Doodled: I "doodled his curly/wavy hair" I also doodled little white stars.
  • Bling Bling! I used bling for her "wedding ring" and on the left corner.
  • 2 or more patterned papers: I used 4 (LOL) all from DCWC the immortal love stack
  • twine: I have one holding the Love you charm that I "died" red with a Copic marker.
I had fun coloring the image; the sketch for the card was a little challenging for me but my hubby likes the card. Hope you like it too. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Monster Mash Party Hop

Hello Crafty friends,

***I'm late :( yes, I know I suck... which is why I chose a vampire (j/k) lol that was a coincidence*** AND please be nice this is my first "Halloween card."

If you're coming from: Irene Sherman  http://irenescardcreations.blogspot.com/ then you're in the right place otherwise start at http://simplybettystamps.blogspot.com/2012/09/monster-mash-party-hop.html

I used Simply Betty (digi) Stamp Verity Vamp and Boris the Bat I chose to color her in in warm grey tones following one of Ms. Betty's YouTube tutorials... this is also my first time using this technique. I only have a very small supply of Copic markers so I substituted the colors with my Spectrum Noir markers. I make my own paper roses and for some reason they always seem to come out different.... For these rose petals I used my Cricut but the leaves I used a Spellbinders die.

The card- Ta-dah! (I got that from Betty's video lol)

Close-up* small elements colored in with Sakura "Red Star" for that shimmery look.

My own paper roses.

Enlarged and cut out an element from Verity Vamp's top hat
to tie-off the rose bouquet.

Happy hopping and thanks for visiting ;)

Anything but a card: Earrings

Good morning everyone!

I hope your extended weekend was awesome and if you didn't have that extra day I hope it was still jammed packed with fun/family/food and crafting.

This week at Jackson's Digital Expressions the team welcomed a wonderful digi stamp company My Heart Pieces again :) You'll be seeing more from them at JDE as well.

The hosting team was the Altered Art Group that means we work on "anything but a card."

I've seen a few videos here and there online and decided to give bottled cap earrings a go.

Robert has so many neat and interesting digi drawings when I found "Profile 7" I knew she'd make some cool earrings. I copied and pasted the image then flipped one for that mirror image and reduced the size so that I can fit it on the bottle cap.

Finished set
 Close up

This was my very first time working on earrings of any kind (please be gentle on the comments (; ) I think I did quite alright so I'm going to have to make a necklace to go with these earrings to make it a complete set.

Well ladies and gentlemen I tried to keep it short and sweet this time ;) I know I blabber too much sometimes on writing but I'm awfully quiet in person heehee. Don't forget to visit http://jacksonsdigitalexpressions.blogspot.com/ for our weekly challenge and also visit this week's sponsor : http://myheartpiecesdigitalstamp.blogspot.in/ a very sweet artist lady to work with.

Thank you so much for visiting.

Spoketacular Birthday

Hello Crafty Friends,

Hope all is great! Today is my youngest brother's birthday. Happy Birthday Bro'! {plays song "1st of tha month" in the background since that's his favorite song for hist birthday lol}He turned 21 today- of course to me he's still a little kid.... heehee I'm the oldest of them all. We always sort of called him my mom's birthday present because he was born the day before her birthday. I bought this stamp one because it's cute, second it was on sale 40% off, third because I knew I needed a "bike" stamp and fourth I know I'll be making him "bike" cards for him to give out. My brother
co-manages a bike shop in Richmond, Calif. named Richmond Spokes or some call it The SpokeShop. Photography, bikes and gardening are my brother's LIFE!!! I'm so proud of him doing many positive things in his life and for the community we grew up in.

Well I wanted to make him something that was simple yet have nothing "girly foofoo" heehee as we crafty ladies tend to do.
The stamp is from: Penny Black # 2881J Hedge Delivery
(I didn't know this was a Berkeley, CA
company which is very close to our city about a 15-20min drive

The sentiment was just printed out, no special inks or lining up.
I added gray brads since bikes have all of these special "Machine Screws"
with socket heads instead of your typical Phillips or slotted screws.

I colored my image with Spectrum Noirs on a this Adirondack Alcohol Ink Cardstock.
They took a while to blend but there was no bleeding or smearing which was awesome for me since this was the first time using this paper. Oh yea, I stamped and colored on the shiny side
(It looks just like shiny photo paper to me...)

Well that's all folks. Enjoy your 3 day weekend if you have a one that long and if not- have fun anyway ;)

Thank you for visiting.
