LMMS: Wicked Good Friend!

Hello and Welcome back to my blog.

For this week's Inspirational Thursday card for Little Miss Muffet Stamps. I used Polka Dot Pals Tamsin and a Polka Dot Pals Add-on Faces. I like that there's a twist on this little witch because she has some Steampunk Gear on. I think next time I create with this image I will work with a steampunk background as well- probably one of those cool ones from Make It Crafty. For now I just wanted to make it bright and a tad bit of a spooky night sky.

I used lots and lots of colors to create this card and had fun doing so.... that's some of my
crafty mess but too embarrassed to show my entire desk. LOL

The odd thing this time is that I didn't complete the face and coloring first like I usually do.
I was a little bit hung up on the leather colors I wanted to use. I knew I wanted her to be a redhead though. I think you'll be proud of me this time 'cause I actually took note (pictures) of most the colors I used but I still typed the ones I didn't take a photo of. Usually I get into my coloring and don't write colors down. haha

The Copic Colors + 1 Polychromos Color Pencil I used:
Leather: E99, YR24 and E39
Blouse/Scarf: R29, R56, R39 and R46
Pants: E53, E84 and E55
At first I wanted to do some copper but I then changed my mind because
I thought it would conflict with her red hair and reddish brown leather.
I went with a brass tone for her goggles, buttons/hardware.
Brass: Y23, Y26, Y28, E87 and E84
Lens: BG13, B63, BV13, V22 and YR23
Skin: E0000, B000, E21, E000 and E30
Hair: E09, YR23 and YR27
Eyes: YG61, YG67, YG61 and YG00
Bat: V04, V06, V22, R56, N4 and N6
Broom:Y15, E84, E43,  E71, E42 and R39
Moon: Y00, Y15 and Y11
Night Sky: BG11, BG13, BG05 and B28
To create the clouds I scribbled the 0 Colorless Blender
Clouds: 0, B28, BG11, Y00
and a Polychromos Color Pencil White.
and to create the spooky tree I use drew in some lines with N9
trees: N9

Here's a close-up

I hope you liked my card,

SBS DT: Happy Birthday Lisa H

Hey Everyone,

On February 14th it was our lovely teamie Lisa Howell's birthday. She loves loves loves Steampunk and Betty has drawn up an image for the occasion.

You can find her on this link http://simplybstamps.net/item_3105/Lisa-H-Steampunk-Bday-Digi.htm

Isn't she cool?

I colored her up with Copic markers
Of course I chose red as part of the colors since it was also Valentine's day
The paper is from DCWV Tattered Time stack (12x12)
My Crafty Friend BreAnn McFarland sent me the gears as part of a Christmas gift.
(She's is looking at this from Heaven)
I fussy cut a larger gear for a little bit of dimension
The faint stamping is from a Heartfelt Creations stamp
which I have misplaced on this messy desk....
I used Antique Linen Distress Ink to stamp that on the edges.

That is it. I hope you like it
I hope Lisa H likes it too.

Thanks for looking.

Slinky Tart DT: Be Stylish

Hey Everyone!

Gung Hay Fat Choy!  (Happy New Year!) I'm back with a shaped card today for Slinky Tart Design Team. I was inspired by the corset this digi stamp is wearing and by my mom who used to sew and had all of these different sewing machines; mostly the Singer brand and I would love to feel on that black metal and how the pieces moved. They would often have gold or metallic designs. Very Steampunky if you think about it. Also, thinking about the amount of manual work and hours it would take to make such a beautiful and interesting creation.

I used The Big Teese digi stamp that I purchased last year, click on the link and you'll find her or you can explore the site and find some personal favorites here http://payhip.com/SlinkyTart.

I colored her up with some of my favorite colors to wear: Red and Black
I cut it with my Silhouette Cameo but I created a card with simple welding in the program.
The paper is from Recollections.
The pearl swirls are from Prima Marketing.
I used Faber-Castell Pit pens Silver and Gold to doodle around
Then some layering with colored Sakura Gelly Rolls
The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts and then used Copic refills to color them up.

Here is a close-up of The Big Teese
I used Glossy Accents to add a glass effect or add a lens to her eye piece.
Here you can see that it is an actual card and not just a flat piece.

The backdrop is my prom dress... of course I can not fit into it anymore
but I love the design and I love the colors. My hubby didn't want to go to the prom and in the end
I convinced him and we found it the night before our prom in San Francisco's Chinatown.
If I remember correctly I only paid $38... maybe a few pennies less...
The price was right and it fit perfectly... well a little tight on my hips but it was okay
I was happy I didn't pay like $300 to $500 like some other classmates. LOL

May 2002 with my High School Sweetheart (and now husband + 4 kids together :D )

Thank you for visiting.

SBS DT: Color Combo

Hey Everyone,

Simply Betty Stamps is bringing back the Teen Scene Steampunks! These cuties will be making their way onto the site something this month.  There was a contest going on at Simply Betty Stamps Fan Page and you just have to use your favorile color or favorite color combo.

I love all of the colors... rainbows... iridescent anything.... but for this card I chose a color that pops for me that I enjoy buying and that is HOT PINK and black.

I used My Funky Valentine Betty (will add the link when it's back in the shop) in the meanwhile you can look around in the teens section if you like this style of digis.   Here is the link http://simplybstamps.net/category_331/Teen-Scene-Digis.htm

Okay here's my card.

I colored her with Copics. I printed her pretty small
and took me a lot longer to color but it came out alright in the end.
I used Bazzill Basic cardstock for the base and The Sweet Lace cardstock from DCWV
the steampunk gear dies are from Prickley Pear and I bought them here  http://www.thestamproom.com/search.aspx?manufacturer=24
The big heart box is actually the one she's holding
I just flipped it, enlarged, fussy cut it and then I covered the hand
with some of the design paper I used as the back ground.
Here is a close up of the digi.
Took me a while to color it only because it's much much smaller than what I'm used to coloring.

Thank you for stopping by.

With a Heart of Gold

Hi everyone,

Today showcasing a little fun DT work at Just Inspirational Challenges. This week's challenge is sponsored by Mitzi, the creator of Stamps By Aurora Wings and the theme is make it "Girly". Check out more of her stamps at AuroraWings etsy shop.

The image I'm using today is called: Steampunk Girl w/doll (just click the link)

I altered a journal with scrapbooking paper (Tim Holtz I believe)
then ripped up some scraps of K&Company distressed the edges and
hand wrote a fraction of a Steampunk poem I found called:
Ticking Lullaby by DJ White Spirit.
I colored my image with Copic markers. This image took me a while to color but
it was fun doing it. Loved each stage as it sort of came alive.
Here's a closer look. Probably would of had better pictures in the morning.
It's a little hard to tell but there is Gold Copic Atyou pens on the goggles
and on the lace on her hat.
The pearls in her hat were done with VivaDecor Pearl pen.
The Jolee's Boutique Steampunk stickers
I got at a really good deal at TheStampRoom,
they were on clearance.

Thank you so much for stopping by
Don't forget to link your project at
I hope you liked my project took me all weekend and a day
especially having to stop so many times.
