7 Kids Crafts: Beary Merry Christmas

Hello Crafty Friends,

I hope you're having a lovely day. Today I decided to work on a Christmas card using this 'beary' sweet stamp. You can find a wide selection of Dreamerland Crafts stamps here.
This Dreamerland Crafts stamp is called Beary Merry Christmas, the die is called Snowy Sky Scene Die by Hello Bluebird and the snowflake paper is called Winter Wonderland by Doodlebug Designs and the sentiment is by The Greeting Farm, Secret Santa stamp kit. To give the snow some depth I used Distress Oxide Speckled Egg. If you shop at 7 Kids Crafts use this code at checkout for a special discount:  GRSWYCSUFB

Sweet November Guest DT - Tide Mayfin

Hello Everyone!

I'm excited Sweet November has launched their own website and also asked me to guest DT for their opening release. The newest stamp in the shop is called Tide Mayfin, you can use her with or without the little fish. I decided to use Tide Mayfin with the little fish because I wanted to create a Teacher Appreciation card. During the Quarantine the classes have been on zoom and have different classroom times, some are the entire class, some days small groups and some days one on one. Tide Mayfin looks so happy with the little school of fish swimming around her that I was inspired to make a teacher card with her.

I colored her up with Polychromos and the background with a marker to cover the base. I tried to keep the most detail on the mermaid and the little school of fish by coloring with bright and cheerful colors.

You can find more info about the new releases and other fun content at: Friends of Sweet November Stamps

7 Kids Crafts: Journaling Mochi Girl

Hello Everyone!

Hoping you've had a lovely day. Just sharing the card I created using this lovely Journaling Mochi Girl by StampingBella. I love how serene she looks journaling in her lovely and feminine space. The sentiment set is also from StampingBella and it's called Mochi Girl Sentiment Set eb938 that I stamped with VersaFine Clair Tulip Red. I loved framing her space by fussy cutting papers by Mintay Papers called Love Letters. It's a new brand that Kelly is carrying in the store so there are lots to chose from. For a slightly more vintage effect I distressed some of the edges of the Mintay Papers that I fussy cut.

Here's the card. :D

Wish You A Beautiful Day

Hello Everyone!

I had so much fun trying Kathy Racoosin's Coloring Challenge Road Trip (online edition.) Some techniques I've already done just by the number of years playing with these mediums and some were new. I tried to follow her instruction as much as possible and I love what I came up with in the end. The stamp I used is from Waffle Flower Crafts called Peony Bouquet, which I've been hoarding for a while but I had courage to stamp it out because of Kathy's suggestions in being fearless.

Nixie Snowflake Fairy
for today and tomorrow Norman Narwhal is free only at the 7 Kids Create! Facebook group
there is also. Make sure to participate by creating something with these images for a chance to win next month's stamps but anyone who participates gets to have a tot digi.

Okay, on to my card... The first image I decided to color is Nixie Snowflake Fairy
A little excerptNixie Snowflake Fairy is  floating among the snowflakes like a fairy snowflake angel! She is delightful and beautiful snowflake fairy!

I love that she looks like she's a snowflake twirling in the sky and looks so happy and loving. Did you check out the dimple I gave her? heehee  All of the fairies from this release also make me think of the Sugarplum Fairies from the Nutcracker or the little fairies from the Disney Fantasia movie.

With this release I wanted to try and color on blue cardstock because I was feeling kind of lazy with coloring the background but I think I gave myself more work by having to color the snowflakes LOL  (lesson learned.) I did like the effect those because on top of having a solid blue background I added some Distress Oxide around the edges of the card and part of the snow flurries to make it look like she's glowing. On top of the small snow/fairy dust I added Nuvo Dream Drops: Cloud 9 and on the bigger snowflakes I added GellyrollClearstar as well as part of the snowflake skirt just to show how thin the ice is. The sentiment is from Lavinia stamp and is called Fairy Dust is like Love

That is it for now. I hope that you enjoy these pretty stamps as much as I do.

7 Kids Crafts: Compliments of the season

Hello Crafty Friends,

I am excited to share this card. I really enjoyed coloring this beautiful Christmas Mistletoe Fairy and wanted to create a special card with her. After racking my brain for a few days I decided I wanted to do a little mixed media. I don't do too much mixed media and it looked a little different in my mind than it came out but I actually really love results. I think it has been almost a year since I have done a little mixed media but the process is very relaxing. The process takes me longer, especially drying time but most things I complete by sections anyway so it wasn't too much of an issue. For the background I wanted a certain snowy scene from the Prima marketing paper but I also fussy cut a barn and added it to the scene, then I added falling snow with gesso.

To create this card I used: Christmas Misletoe Fairy by Sweet November StampsPrima Marketing paper pad called Christmas in the Country, Nuvo Crystal Drops: Metallic - Soft Mint for the mistletoe berries and Nuvo Glitter Drops: Holiday Cheer for the holly berries, Hello Bluebird: Holly and Pine DieElizabeth Craft Designs: Garden Notes - Heart Grapevine WreathC.C. Designs: Mistletoe ATS028 and a little white gesso for snow on the tips of the pine needles, pine cone, snow falling and on the wreath. Oh yea on last thing I added some Spectrum Noir: Clear Sparkle pen over the wings.

Here's a little excerpt from the Sweet November Digital Stamps team about Christmas Mistletoe Fairy : And last but not least we have Mistletoe Fairy. This sweet fairy knows that it doesn't matter how a home is decorated for the holidays because as long is it is filled with love and laughter it is the most beautiful place in the world to be no matter the time of year.

Here's a little close-up of the dies I used

I Hope you can see that I added Spectrum Noir: Sparkle pen to the wings
and white gesso for the snow falling.

Don't forget to check out the other beautifully drawn digis for this month:
and if you missed this month's Freebie stamp you can still purchase it here: Jingle

I hope that you like the card and hope that you can play along for the month of December at the

7 Kids Crafts: Bundled Buddies

Hello Crafty Friends

Happy Veterans Day! Today!

I wanted to share a card using this cute clear stamp set called Bundled Buddies by Penny Black. Many of the Penny Black are so cute but I especially love working with the images drawn by Mo Manning. This stamp can be used as a Christmas card but also as a Autumn/Fall or a Winter card.
Time I put this bundle cutie in an autumn colors setting using the Hello Bluebird - Winter Woods Overlay die and I copic colored in some lines to make them look like birch trees. The leaves are left over from my previous project and that die is also from Hello Bluebird - Oak Tree Scene Die which I colored with ColorCraft Brusho powder pigments.

I really enjoyed creating this autumn scene and I hope that you get a chance to grab these from the 7 Kids Crafts store and have some play time as well.

I created this card using the stamp I colored for
Day#12 of The Daily Marker 30 Day coloring challenge.
I colored this cutie up with Copic markers.

The background was created with Distress Oxides
and the front overlay I colored with Copic markers.

Thank You FOR EVERYTHING

Hello Crafty Friends,

I hope you're having a lovely day.  I had a lovely early morning working on the coloring for the background of this little scene using ColourCraft Brusho pigment powders. For the tree and leaves the main color I used is: Gamboge, then a little bit of Leaf Green and a tiny bit of Scarlet. I really love the effects that the Brusho creates and I purchased them for foliage and backgrounds in mind. Next, although not in the 7 Kids Craft Store, Kelly the owner carries a lot of Hello Bluebird items, especially the newer releases. The die set is called Oak Tree Scene Die and the stamp set I used is called Fall Friends.

I used Copic markes to color the critters and the pumpkins.
For the sentiment I used a gold tinsel embossing powder
from Recollections that I found at Michael's.

Here's a little bit of how it looked when I finished coloring in the tree
and adding Brusho to the leaves. To color the grass and the tree trunk
I used Spectrum Noir marker because they are a bit juicier.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

I colored up another one of the fairwees from Sweet November Stamps this one is called
Mia's Confetti. You can tell she's the life of the party with her expression and pose. She is full of life and happiness. I colored her up with Polychromos color pencils and I used some Distress Oxides for the background.

Here's a little excerpt of her: "Mia is a wee little ball of energy zooming in a showering everyone with a burst of sparkling fairy dust and colorful confetti!

Another reason Mia is so happy is because Kelly over at 7 Kids Crafts is having a nice sale,

7 Kids Crafts: Cupcake Cutie

Hello Everyone!

It feels like I've been gone from my craft room forever even though only a week has passed by.  I did do a couple live crafty videos while out of town for 7 Kids Customer's Create!  and I was a nervious wreck. LOL If you have watched them let me know what you think and I'm open to suggestions because I am still learning.

On to my card, I wanted to make sure I colored her up pretty big without cropping her. I knew that while I was going to be out of town I was going to use my Polychromos pencils so I printed her on Kraft paper. I kept this card pretty clean and simple because I wanted to put details on her face and the whip frosting of the cupcake. Isn't Josie adorable?! When I looked at her I imaged her with dimples. At first I was a little sketchy on how it was turning out but as I kept coloring it came out alright, I think.

Cupcake Cutie - C.C. Design

Polychromos (in random order) used:
Ivory, White, Black, Burnt Siena, Burnt Ochre,
Cadmium Yellow, Burnt Umber, Dark Flesh, Black

Light Cobalt. Turquoise, Light Phthalo Blue, Cobalt Turquoise,

Cold Grey, Warm Grey IV

7 Kids Crafts: Bee Awesome!

Hello there Crafty Friends,

I hope you are having a wonderful day. Today I had so much fun creating a card with Sweet November - Poly Tadpole and the super versatile Pink Ink Designs - Bee-utiful clear stamp set. As soon as as I saw Poly Tadpole I had a few ideas in mind, one of those ideas was to give her wings.

Oh yea, remember that it's Vault Week over at 7 Kids Crafts with 3 images by Sweet November digital stamps. Hit the "newest items" button and you'll get right to them and don't forget these vault images are out for just one week... so by this Saturday they go back in the vault.

Sweet November - Lily Tadpole
Sweet November - Tadpole
Sweet November - Phoebe Tadpole

Here's a little excerpt of Pixie Poly Tadpole's story:

"It's summer in Sweet November Land and while the mermaids are migrating off the coast we are going to hit the beach and meet some very special pixies who are always up for fun and exciting times when the weather starts to warm up. So grab a towel and slip on your flip flops 'cause we're heading down to the sandy shore where the Tadpole swim team are chillin'.

Pixie Polly is the fastest swimmer on the team and wins all the races that she enters... well, unless she challenges a mermaid, but even then it is close. And if she's not splashing in the waves Polly can be found catching a few rays on the beach sipping her favorite strawberry lemonade. She's simply a spunky little gal who is always looking for the next good time."

Okay here's my card:

Here is part of my process in photos:

I hope you can see the sparkle better.

Copic colors used:
E0000, E00, E21, E13, R21, R30
E79, E29, Y21, Y32, E57, T8
T8, T6, T4
Y18, Y21, E31
Y23, E30, Y21, E70, E71

Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle on the veins of the wings
and on the tiny little bee, in between the Bee Awesome sentiment.
Uniball-Signo Sparkling Gold for parts of the honeycombs.

Distress Oxide:
Scattered Straw, Fossilized Amber, Brushed Corduroy

Light Brown and Gambogue

I painted fragments of the honeycombs with a little bit of Brusho.
I tried to control the Brusho by mixing a tiny bit of Light Brown (not really light by the way)
and some Gamboge on a separate piece of paper. I also didn't want to went the paper very much because it's not intended for water use. Some of the crystals have other colors so I noticed that some
looked more blue, more sienna or more red. Because of the variation in colors
I only used a very little amount with a small watercolor brush.

For A Star Student

Hello Everyone!

Just wanted to share my completed card with the image I colored for Day 24 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. To make this card I used Taylor - Think Like A Proton. I created this card for my daughter Jade. I was inspired to use a different hair color copic combination when I saw Stephen's Facebook live video while coloring Cleopatra.

I colored her up with Copic Markers.
The Background is done with Distress Oxide.
The Stars are from a Memory Box stencil called Stars Star Show
The tiny little stars are from one of the Grab and Box- I think it was the Star Wars one.
The letters are from a Tim Hotlz/Sizzix set I got on Clearance from
7 Kids Crafts clearance section.

Thank you for visiting

I will be entering my card at:

7 Kids Crafts: Flying by to say Hello

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope you're all having a marvelous day. I've completed a card with the Day: 14 image I colored for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. I finished this card on the very same day I completed the card and I've been trying to be patient to show you all. I purchased this set from  Hello Bluebird and it's called Maverick and now Kelly at 7 Kids Crafts carries these Hello Bluebird stamp and dies. I just love the storybook type of images they have and are really fun to work with especially because somehow they remind me of Calico Critters.

There are several dies in the Hello Bluebird website that go with this set
but I didn't get any of the dies. I did some serious or at least I thought it was some
serious masking until I saw Amy Young's 4th of July card and Oh my word! I was my face was
stuck with a wide eye and open mouth in admiration. Amy
has some super talent and dedication. Oh yea, back to my back, heehee After I masked everything
(including that cloud in the middle... I was just too lazy to stamp and hand cut another mask) I used
Distress Oxide: Tumbled Glass.
I found that I much prefer this color over Broken China for a soft blue "day" sky.

7 Kids Crafts: Thinking of you

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are having a nice day. This time I wanted to create a card with a storybook feel to it. I'm using this super sweet stamps from Hello Bluebird sold at 7 Kids Crafts. The stamps remind me of Calico Critters that my 6 year old loves to play with and also Peter Cottontail book illustrations. I combined 2 different stamps to achieve this look. One stamp set is called McGregor's Garden set and the other is from the Maverick set. The stitched rectangle die is from My Creative Time and the Scalloped die is from Mama Elephant.

                                                                  McGregor's Garden
+
Maverick

To achieve this look I first stamped some of the images with Memento Desert Sand and masked them, then stamped one more cloud and masked it as well. After that, I used Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass for the sky. Distress Oxide Shabby Shutters for the grass and a little bit of Tumbled Glass and light touch of Pine Needles. When everything looked to my liking then I carefully peeled off the masking tape for future use and I drew in some simple grass lines with a Polychromos pencil. The paper I used is a multi-media paper so instead of watercolor as I originally planned I used Copic marker for the images. Keep in mind that this paper absorbs more of your ink but I used it only because I wasn't planning on covering big areas and I do have the refills just in case. For the eyes I used a Black Copic-multiliner pen and for the birds legs and bunny's mouth I used a Sepia Copic Multi-liner pen.

Copic markers used:
B24, B21, E11, E0000, YR12
E40, E42, E93, R20,
W00

7 Kids Crafts: Sparkle Moondrifter

Hello again Crafty Friends!

Welcome back to my blog to showcase another fabulous stamp from the newest Sweet November release over at 7 Kids Crafts. Here is my second card using Sparkle Moondrifter + Ocean Background Builder #1 + Ocean Background Builder #2 I used Copics to color her up as well as the background. To soften up edges and emphasize on the light in the water I used PFS - Life Changing Brushes and Distress Oxide - Broken China. The sentiment is from a retired Kraftin' Kimmie stamp set and I used Versafine Clair - Shady Lane that I had purchased from 7 Kids Crafts.

Here's a slightly moving the photo so you can see some of the shine and
so you can see the Nuvo drops.
I had lots of markers on my desk and had to put a lot of them away so I
could keep working which is why I didn't get to write them down.
I used many of the colors from my previous post plus a few more
if you'd like to reference it here.
I did use a very light touch of Polychromos Rose Carmine on the
cheeks for blush.

To add shine to the tail I added
Sakura Gelly Roll- Clear Star and Sakura Gelly Roll Sky Star
For the Bubbles I added Nuvo Jewel Drops - Sea Breeze
and for the pearls I added Nuvo Dream Drops- Fairy Wings
The Nuvo drops are available at 7 Kids Crafts.

Sparkle Moondrifter, Skater and Ray

I hope you liked my first card for this release.
Don't forget to check out all of the games and a couple

7 Kids Crafts: Fearless Pursuit

Hello Everyone!

I hope you had a nice weekend! We've had a 3 Day weekend, Memorial Day, in honor of the men and women who have died while serving in the U.S.A Military. My Husband's Grandfather Celsus Yopp enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1951 and continued to served for over fifty years but passed away last year.

I didn't get to do very much crafting as I hoped but I did get work on a little ink blending. I used this pretty cool set called Catherine Pooler - Fearless Pursuit along with some Distress Oxide and some blender brushes, you can find some here: Picket Fence Life Changing Blender Brushes. With some good tools it doesn't have to have to be complicated to create a very colorful card.

I wanted to create a sunset with the colors and I wanted to be a beach scene so I used a marker to block in a section to make it look like a silhouette of an island. Then I used the Palm leaves and used the same marker that I created the island for the palm tree trunks. The Catherine Pooler - Fearless Pursuit comes with the palm tree trunks separated but I wanted to be a different angle so I drew the trunks myself. When I finished I added a few water ripples with a White Gelly roll and it was dry I added a little bit of clear star right above or under the white lines.

Distress Oxide:
Scattered Straw, Fossilized Amber, Fired Brick,
Broken China, Chipped Sapphire

Versafine Clair:
Nocturne

Sakura Gelly:
White and Clear Star

7 Kids Crafts: Thank You So Much

Hello Everyone!

Happy Sunday! at https://www.7kidscrafts.com/ there is free shipping with any order over 25 this weekend only. Also the vendor of the month is Mama Elephant and Nuvo Drops (this excludes new arrivals.)

Today I wanted to share another card using the Mama Elephant Big Thank You So Much die (only I used the negative portion this time.) I also used a little bear from the Mama Elephant - Big News stamp set. There are so lots and lots of sentiments to choose from this set but I used the Little Bear holding a wooden sign and used "You're the beary best!" sentiment to go on his little wooden sign. To get the sunset gradient I used Picket Fence Studios - Life Changing Brushes

Distress Oxide:
Scattered Straw, Fossilized Amber, Fired Brick, Broken China and Chipped Sapphire

Copic Markers:
E30, E33, E35, E35, E37 and E47

Polychromos:
Rose Carmine (very lightly for the bear's cheeks)

Here's part of the process. After I colored in the background with
Distress Oxides, I placed the Thank You So Much die where I wanted
to die cut it. After that make sure to save all of the pieces from the
negative. I placed the part that most people save like a puzzle
so I can see where the little cut-outs fit and glue those on.
Then save the die cut for another card or project.

Thank you so much for stoping by.

7 Kids Crafts: You are Special

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are having a nice day.

If you haven't check out the Vendor of the Month over at 7KidsCrafts.com is Mama Elephant and Nuvo Drops (Does NOT include new arrivals.) To make sure you get the 20% discount make sure to enter the code: MAMA

Also, I'm happy that Kelly has restocked Kylee's Unicorn because it's such a pretty set to play with and actually one of my very favorites. I have colored another image from the set for Artist Trading Cards I made before you can check it out here: http://kattyxotica.blogspot.com/2019/02/7-kids-crafts-unicorn-atc.html and I even made a video with the ATC share here: https://youtu.be/Qm-uZB1bep4
This Kylee's Unicorn set just makes me think of clean and positive magical beings. When I get a chance to color any either image from the set I always think of using the colors of the rainbow.

I used Distress Oxides to create the background
and then I smeared and buffed some white pigment ink
to form the clouds. As the white ink over the clouds dried
I noticed that the opacity started to fade and some of the color
from the oxides showed but I actually like the effect.
To emphasize that the lighter color were clouds I just used a white
gelly roll to draw the silhouette of clouds.

Here is a close-up of the unicorn using Copic markers
on Copic paper. The hair was also colored with Copic markers
but I used the ZIG Wink of Stella pens with their matching Copic
colored hair strands. For the Eyelashes, I went a little safer
and just went over with a black colored pencil.

Copic:
RV0000, Y00, G00, BV000, BG10
V15, B05, YR04, Y08, R17, G09

I fussy cut the unicorn and stamped the image on my background
to keep some of the little details on her crown that stick out
but are too thin for me to cut over.
I colored those little thin crown details in green.

just click the link.

Don't forget that this week we have opened
the Sweet November vault over at
7 Kids Crafts but they are only available
for just this week.

Thank you so much for visiting!
