7 Kids Crafts: Many Thanks

Hello Everyone,

I think I'm getting hooked on making slimeline cards, they are perfect for cash, for a check or just to write a long-winded message like I like doing sometimes. heehee For my card I wanted to make it look vintagey (I know that can't be a real word) but with a pop of color. I colored the Stamping Bella Daisy Squidgy with Caran D'Ache Water-soluble colored pencils. On top of the dried watersoluble color pencil/watercoloring, I then used a little bit of Polychromos to add depth. The slimline die is by Mama Elephant called Creative Cuts, Slim Card Basics. The letters that form the word "many" come from the Altenew set that I've been hoarding for a while called Tall Alpha die.

7 Kids Crafts: Make Waves

Hello Everyone! I hope you're having a fantastic day.

Today I worked on a card featuring this pretty mermaid by Maria Medel who has done these stamps exclusively for 7 Kids Crafts Store. This set is called Making Waves. I colored her with Karin Brushmarker Pro and a little bit of Polychromos. The Slim Card Basics die is by Mama Elephant. There are also some fun slimline dies by Whimsy Stamps in the store.

When I think about Slim Line cards I always think about money envelopes so I think
they would be a fun way to give a cash or check as a gift.

Sweet November Guest DT - Tide Mayfin

Hello Everyone!

I'm excited Sweet November has launched their own website and also asked me to guest DT for their opening release. The newest stamp in the shop is called Tide Mayfin, you can use her with or without the little fish. I decided to use Tide Mayfin with the little fish because I wanted to create a Teacher Appreciation card. During the Quarantine the classes have been on zoom and have different classroom times, some are the entire class, some days small groups and some days one on one. Tide Mayfin looks so happy with the little school of fish swimming around her that I was inspired to make a teacher card with her.

I colored her up with Polychromos and the background with a marker to cover the base. I tried to keep the most detail on the mermaid and the little school of fish by coloring with bright and cheerful colors.

7 Kids Crafts: I love you in so many ways

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today I'm sharing a card made with two sets from the latest Penny Black Inc release, make sure to grab some of these cute stamps sets at 7 Kids Crafts Store while supplies last. For this somewhat simple card I used: Penny Black IncTake Me Away and Penny Black Inc: Love Language.

To color these cute bears that are floating away via balloons I first used a Spectrum Noirs as a base and then added shading details with color pencils. I wanted the teddy bears to sort of represent my hubby and I so I made one dark brown and one lighter brown.

Take Me Away and Love Language

I used both Polychromos and Prismacolor pencils.
Polychromos:
Burnt Umber, Caput Mortuum, Black, Burnt Ochre, Dark Red,
Fhuchsia, Rose Carmine, Cold Grey VI
the sky was done lightly with Light Ultramarine
Prismacolor:
Sienna Brown
Uni-ball Signo White Angelic

Although I stamped my sentiment with my Misti I did not realize that my ink was kind of dry and attempted to go over it several times but my image shifted and had to go over the font with a gel pen.

I hope you like the card even though I messed it up with how my sentiment came out.

Don't forget to participate all month long with this new release.
Everyone who participates this month will get an exclusive Tot
next month or you could possibly win all of next month's release as well.

7 Kids Crafts: Gingy have a holly jolly Christmas

Hello Crafty Friends!

Last week over at 7 Kids Crafts there was a vault release with sweet Gingy. There were 5 images in total.

For today's card I used Gingy with Popcorn by Sweet November Stamps. I colored him up with Polychromos pencils and I used both a soft and burnishing techniques depending on the area I was coloring. I used an older Hello Bluebird sentiment from the Typed Christmas sentiment set. I stamped the sentiment with VersaFine Clair: Nocturne.

I loved coloring and giving little Gingy a background setting for his little popcorn and holly berry garland. I started with some big pine tree needles to emphasize on Gingy's small stature. Then I sort of filled in the background with a big Christmas tree skirt. Then added a dark wood floor, white baseboard and a creamy yellow wall. To add some shine to the frosting and holly berries, I added glossy accents and let dry overnight before cropping down with the rectangle die by My Creative Time.

I hope you get a chance to play with theses cute little Gingys if you grabbed them

Sweet November - Rose Fae
Sweet November - Dahlia Fae
Sweet November - Gerbera Daisy Fae

Plus lots more  add-ons

A little excerpt on Sweet November - Rose Fae:

First along the garden path is Rose. Everyone knows that Rose is the queen of the summer garden, her beautiful blooms standing tall and proud above all the other flowers. She is as sweet as the fragrance of her flowers and even more lovely than an entire bouquet.

For this image I kept thinking she looked like a mixture of Snow White, Rapunzel and even Elsa from Frozen. After I colored her hair black I was thinking I should have colored her hair blonde instead... but maybe for another card right? I used Polychromos on Kraft paper to color her up but I didn't press very hard or tried to burnish to keep the soft look.

Here you can see some of the shimmer on the sheer fabric of her dress.
I know it's a little hard to see the shimmer with my lighting.

Polychromos:
White, Warm Grey II, Warm Grey IV, Black
Dark Flesh,  Chrome Oxide Green

Distress Oxide:
Pumice Stone, Black Soot

Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen

7 Kids Crafts: You've been in my thoughts

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome to the Summer Garden by release Sweet November Stamps over at 7 Kids Crafts. The design team has some really beautiful cards to share and I really enjoyed coloring this month's release. Because these images have many details I really wanted to use my colored pencils to give them justice. I am sure that anyone can color them beautifully with markers or other mediums but for my ability I wanted to use pencils. I get a little more control using colored, plus I hadn't used mine in a while. I wanted to use only Polychromos pencils but I didn't realize that I grabbed a couple of Prismacolor pencils as well.... shows my organization heehee but I did like the colors when I laid them down on Kraft Cardstock..

August 1st and 2nd there will be a Sweet November Summer Garden Bundle Deal Just click the link for the special price.

If you checked out the link you'll notice that there are several lovely Summer Garden lady fae in this collection.

Here is an excerpt of Sweet November - Gerbera Daisy Fae:

Next along the garden path the happy Gerbera Daisy Fae welcomes all with a cheery disposition that matches the flowers she so loves. There is a happiness in this corner of the garden that is completely irresistible. One can't help but smile as you watch the daisies sway and dance atop their long stems and Gerbera Daisy dancing right along with them.

To create my card I use 4 different sets listed below:

I used lots of colors to color my image.

7 Kids Crafts: You're All Sorts of Wonderful

Hello and Happy Sunday Everyone!

I hope you area all having a wonderful day. First I like to mention that the Vendor of the Month over at 7KidsCrafts.com is Mama Elephant and Nuvo Drops (Does NOT include new arrivals.) To make sure you get the 20% discount make sure to enter the code: MAMA

For my card I used two sets of Mama Elephant sets, one is called Mama Elephant: Big News and the other one is called Mama Elephant: Stackable Cuties.

I first colored the little unicorn with Copic markers on the Catherine Pooler - Premium White Cardstock.  I drew a rainbow and sky for the background with watercolor pencils from Caran D'Ache which are so pretty especially when you add the water on top. I feel that I can control the color a little more with watercolor pencils.  I had drawn some clouds and I did not like how they came out but remembered that I had some small cloud dies from Stamp AnnieThing so I used those
and distressed them a little on the edges.

I'm a little uncomfortable making CAS cards but I think this one came out alright... just the planning took me a little longer than I had hoped for.

Mama Elephant: Big News and Mama Elephant: Stackable Cuties

I dimmed the lights so you can see
the shimmer on the wings and on the unicorn
and I even added a few little sparkling stars
around the unicorn and sky
Here is how the colors look with the light.

I added a little bit of embossing powder to the
sentiment just to give it a little sparkle.
Here is how I started, lightly colored
then added water in a controlled fashion
with a small watercolor brush.

Copic markers:
RV000, Y00, G00, BG10, BV0000, C3 and C1

Caran D'Ache Supracolor II Soft:
080, 060, 010, 210, 140, 120, 110, 005 and 171

Don't forget today is the last day if
you want to get the Sweet November MERMAY Bundle
of course you can buy them individually and I believe
they are here until Friday 5/24

Thank you for so much for visiting.

7 Kids Crafts: Bubbles Lostlagoon

Hello again Everyone!

It's Sweet November Stamps Vault Release week over at 7KidsCrafts.com and in honor of Mermay these cuties have swam out to play. There are 3 mermaids and their 3 little pals.
You can chose to get the entire bundle or the 1-3 mermaids with their companion.

Mermay Vault Release bundle
Shimmer Redkelp and Otto
Bubbles Lostlagoon and Palu
Tidepool and Seamoor

This time I used Bubbles Lostlagoon and I used Mostly Polychromos colored pencils to color her up on Kraft Cardstock but I did use some Copic markers first to fill the mostly the background first layers. I drew in the Clam to look like a seat or perhaps her throne.  I also drew in the sea kelp.

I did use Copic B02 to fill in the first layer of the background and then I used B05 to color the base layer for the tail. I also used 26 for the base layer of the sand. RV21, E04 and E71 for the first layers of the clam.

I had started coloring her skin and hair with the Polychromos but I stopped to do the Copic coloring areas so I can do my Polychromos coloring on top and that too lots of layers and playing with different color pencils.

When I first saw this stamp I immediately thought of Marie Antoinette with her regal hair, smile and pose.  So I gave her the hair color she had before it all turned gray from all of the financial and political issues she had in her court.
how to create the scales video:
Here you can see the Nuvo Drops that I added to
the pearls in her hair.  I gave her dimple on
her chin just like Marie Antoinette.

7 Kids Crafts: Shimmer Redkelp

Hello Everyone!

For this card I had a chance to play with Shimmer Redhelp and I began with Copic markers
but being the naughty crafter that I am... I don't really clean my nibs so I had
lots of blotchiness going on. To fix my booboo I rescued the coloring with Polychromos
colored pencils on the top to hide my errors and eventually I kept
adding details with the pencils. I also printed another image in the same
size so I use it as a mask and color up the entire background
with Distress Oxide.

I also made a Youtube video to show how I created the scales.
https://youtu.be/qwRKroZoedI

Shimmer Redkelp
Copic markers used for the under layers:

7 Kids Crafts: Sweet November - Nixie Surfacing

Hello Everyone!

Today is the big day! It's release day for brand spankin' new images from Sweet November called Surfacing at 7kidscrafts.com

You can choose to get the entire Limited Time Surfacing Bundle Pack or you can buy your favorite ones separately:

Sweet November- Loire
Sweet November - Nerida
Sweet November - Nixie
Sweet November - Talise
Sweet November - Gully
or you can chose a background that includes a fish, frog, two lily pads, post reed and water lily.
Sweet November - Surfacing Background Builder Set which is completely customizable.

Amy Young, will be on live at 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook Page
at 11AM PST and then at 3:00PM PST, today May 1st. Throughout the day there will be games and prizes.

Okay on to my card.... I colored her with Polychromos coloring pencils and one Prismacolor. Around the edges of the water and sky I used Distress Oxide. For the Glowing fireflies I used a Sakura Gelly roll and smeared it with my finger, then added yellow Polychromos on top. The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie stamps. I've been very excited since I fist saw these stamps. I need that I wanted to color them with color pencils to be able to work on blending skin more. I love my Copic markers but sometimes I can't get them to blend the way I want compared to the way I can with color pencils. Yes, color pencils are much slower... it's like a miniature painting but I love it either way and it's so much more relaxing.

I used Polychromos (+1 Prismacolor):
Ivory, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Caput Mortuum, Rose Carmine, (Beige), Cinnamon
White, Black, Cold Grey VI, Ultramarine,
Permanent Green, Hooker's Green, Chrome Oxide Green
Earth Green

Distress Oxide:
Black Soot, Pumise Stone and Broken China.

It's usually a little difficult for me to capture color pencil on photograph
but here's a pretty good close-up of Nixie

Also for May over at 7kidscrafts.com

Passionate Paper Creations: Power Poppy Coneflowers

Hello Crafty Friends,

I had loads of fun creating this card using Power Poppy: Easy Breezy Coneflowers. My Mom has many flowers and even works at a school garden. At Verde Partnership Garden there are many pretty flowers, among them there are these bright yellow Cornflowers which inspired me to choose this color. I love that these flowers are available in digital for so I can blow them up or make them smaller if I wanted to. Thank you so much for the friends and sponsors over at powerpoppy.com

I used primarily Polychromos color pencils to color my image.

Cadmium Yellow, Caput Mortuum, Sanguine, Light Cadmium Yellow,
Cadmium Orange, Burnt Umber,
Permanent Green, Hookers Green,
Cold Greey VI, Light Cobalt Turquoise

Then I lightly daubed it with
Distress Saphire (Distress Oxide)

Thank you so much for visiting.

7 Kids Crafts: When Life Brings You Troubles

Hello Everyone!

I hope you're having a day without troubles. I had fun creating this image with Distress Oxide and water. I created another card with a similar technique which I talk more about here: 7 Kids Crafts: My Heart Belongs To You. I'm really loving this cute little image from Picket Fence Studios this one is called Kylee Boo - S118. To color her Kylee Boo and the grass, and bubble I used Polychromos color pencils. After I colored the bubbles I added Glossy Accents on top to give them the round and wet appearance of soap bubbles. Even though the image seems very small and the lines are like loose sketches, when I started coloring I felt it was pretty easy to color especially with pencils. It was really easy to follow the artist's lines. I had partially worked on this image since February (Day:18) for #thedailymarker30day challenge.

Before I forget this month's
Picket Fence Studios and Cardstock
please be sure to use PAPERHOARDING to save 20% on those items
(Note: This does not include New Arrivals)

Here is my card:

Picket Fence Studios: Kylee Boo - S118
The rectangle die is from My Creative Time

I hope you gathered a little inspiration and maybe you can grab
some of these cute stamps with the discount while they last.

Don't forget that there are always lots of inspiration
from the lovely DT ladies over at
Also, lots of games, prizes, limited time free digis sometimes.

Thank you for stopping by and
colorful and bubbly day.

7 Kids Crafts: Baby Bunny Butterfly

Hello Everyone!

I hope you're liking this Baby Bunny line from Sweet November Stamps.  You can find them here:
7 Kids Crafts: Sweet November Stamps for a limited time. This is my third stamp of the Baby Bunnies and this one is called: Sweet November: Baby Bunny ButterflyI've had lots of fun creating scenes that all tied together in some way. They all have furry bunny suits, all have light puffy clouds with Colorbox Frost White and Broken China (Distress Oxide) as the background sky and they all have dandelions covering the grass (cause you know there's no weed killer -that poisons and kills all of the pollinators and we don't want that.) Speaking of weeds I drew in some dandelions and some milkweed, which is the perfect host plant for the butterfly I'm pretending is a Monarch butterfly by the colors I chose. The sentiment is from a rubber stamp I found in my stash that I had forgotten I purchased- it's from Impression Obsession: #C14072 I know it's not an Easter sentiment but I thought it was perfect because this Baby Bunny seems to be flapping his arms like wings, as if he's trying to fly like the butterfly.

Polychromos + 1 Prismacolor I used:
Ivory, Burnt Sienna, Dark Flesh, White, Light Flesh + (Beige = Prismacolor)
Ultramarine, Light Ultramarine, Indanthrene Blue, Warm Grey IV,Warm Grey III, White
Permanent Green, Hooker's Green, Emerald Green
Dark Naples Ochre, Cadmium Orange, Dark Cadmium Orange, Cadmium Yellow, Black
Light Magenta, Crimson + Sakura Gelly Roll (XPGB-M #520) for milkweed flowers
Cadmium Yellow for the dandelions

Distress Oxides:
Pine Needles, Broken China

Colorbox:
Frost White (I used it lightly for clouds)
Versafine:
Onyx Black (to stamp the sentiment)

Don't forget, there are 3 total Sweet November "Vault Images" this month:

All of the stamps mentioned above are only found at 7 Kids Crafts: Sweet November Stamps  If you follow the 7 Kids Customers Create! you will be able to grab a fourth Baby Bunny called Baby Bunny Daffodil for FREE but these are all available until 3/22/2019 and they will go back in the vault.

7 Kids Crafts: Baby Bunny Egg

Hello Everyone!

I hope you have been having fun creating with these cute bunnies from the Baby Bunny line.
There are 3 total Sweet November "Vault Images" this month:

I colored up this cutie with Polychromos pencils
and the sky was done with
Distress Oxide Broken China + Colorbox Frost White
The eggs are from an older
Stamp Anniething Easter set called: For Peeps Sake and the
sentiment is from Paper Smooches called: I Heart Art.

I had lots of fun creating a little egg painting scene with Baby Bunny Egg
Since this baby was painting an egg I figured it would be nice if it also
had more eggs and little paint cups around.

7 Kids Crafts: Mermaid Kisses in watercolor

Hello Everyone!

For today's card I decided to work with watercolors. Some of my favorite watercolors to work with are Dr. Ph. Martin's Hydrus - I love to use these because they come in these small glass bottles with droppers and they are already liquified.

I tried to keep a small color palette to tie everything together.
Dr. Ph. Matin's Hydrus colors used are:
Phthalo Blue, Hansa Yellow Light, Quinacridone, Phthalo Green and Venetian Brown

Normally I set my water color to the side and work on something else
but this time I had my heat gun ready so I can lay down the next color/s.
I wanted to created like a mermaid lagoon and a waterfall in the background.

To define their cute faces, I went to trace over the faint stamped lines with a color
that matched or was somewhat darker than the watercolor paint.

I hope you liked my watercolored card using these cute little mermaids.

Also, don't forget that there are 3 total Sweet November
"Vault Images" this month but only until 3/22:
and if you join the
7 KIDS Customers Create! Facebook Page
you can find a 4th Baby Bunny for free!!!

7 Kids Crafts: Kylee's Unicorn

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all are having a lovely day. Today's project is for 7 Kids Crafts and I am working with a clear stamp called Picket Fence Studios - Kylee's Unicorn. This is a really cute set to work with. The images are adorable and the sentiments can be used with many other stamps or projects.
I haven't done this in a long time but I colored with pencils on white paper... it's a little scary but doable. heehee When I saw the little girl "Kylee" I immediately thought about the collectible Blythe Dolls which I think are super cute and I wish I could afford a real/custom doll for my"inner-child"self and to put in my craft-room. I have a factory version (still pricey) of the Blythe doll with a long wig but still needs clothes because well I spend my money on stamps, paper and dies. LOL

Picket Fence Studios - Kylee's Unicorn

I colored this image with Polychromos

I didn't write down the colors for skin and fur
but here are the ones for the hair, the crown, horn and dress

Hair:
Light Phthalo Green, Phthalo, Hookers Green
Light Phthalo Blue, Ultramarine
Permanent Carmine, Madder
Blue Violet,  Violet, Light Magenta
Fuchsia, Light Purple Pink, Middle Purple Pink

Crown/horn:
Cadmium Yellow, Burnt Ochre, Walnut Brown

Dress:
Light Magenta, Violet, White

The dies are from My Creative Time
and the chunky glitter is from Recollections

Here's a close-up

Don't forget that January's Vendor at
