Christmas card swap hosted by Cricut Crafts

Hi Everyone!

I'm back for a little while.... Just wanted to show the cards I made for a Christmas Card Swap I joined. It was a small group which was good for me because of family life adjustments here and there (new baby) but I really wanted to join something this year. It ended up being 6 of us total so I only had to make 5 cards but I made an extra card which I will mail out to a Hello Kitty fan/bloggy friend lol. Anyway, here are my Hello Kitty snow globe cards:

I hadn't really used my Cricut in a long time and on top of that I hadn't
used my Hello Kitty cartridge in a really long time.
 The cards measure 5x7.
Carts I used are: Hello Kitty Greetings, Create a Critter and Joys of the Season.
I used Stikles for the falling snow holes.
The snowflakes are from Martha Stewart's Aspen Snowflake around the page punch set .
The Hello Kitty rubber stamp on the envelope is from Target.
The "Merry Christmas" sentiment is from My Creative Time.
The Buttons on Hello Kitty's coat are from Viva Decor Pearl Pens
Here is a close up of the card. I mailed all of these in
cellophane envelopes so that my recipients were able to use
blank envelopes... I mailed them all out on the 1st of December
I hope all of the ladies have received them. I'm still waiting for one card.
The ladies are: Lourdes (swap host), Luz, Jessie, Gloria, Gina and myself (Katya)
You can request to join the facebook group at:
There are a lot of talented ladies there.
Some even have YouTube videos with tutorials.
I love the cards I received. I hope I wasn't too bad for my first swap
and hope they liked the cards I made for them.
Can you believe my daughter Jade got to do a card swap before me? LOL
I'd like to finish stating this was a fun experience for me
especially checking my mailbox with my daughter Jade and opening the cards together.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hello Kitty Composition Book & Bookmark

Hello Everyone!

Hope all is well. I finally finished my first altered composition book. I used my Cricut Expression to make the shapes and letters. I made this especially for Rosie Mini's challenge: Hello Kitty Birthday Challenge. Here is the link: http://www.scraplovingminis.blogspot.com/2012/06/hello-kitty-birthday-challenge.html

Rosie's daughter is turning 19 years old TODAY! Happy Birthday Ruth! She loves H.K. as so does my daughter and myself.
I left space at the top to "personalize with a name"

I used my Hello Kitty Greetings Cartridge to alter the composition book and make the tiny bookmark. I now kick myself in the butt for not buying the Hello Kitty Font when I had the chance; I went on eBay to "try" to buy it and ALL and I mean ALL listings were over $100.00 that's crazy! I just used Baby Steps cartridge to create the font this time. I embossed the glasses on the big Kitty and the small Kitty (LOL) to give them that "shiny" look.

Here is a "mini bookmark tutorial:"
With a square about 4 inches or so. Mine was 3&3/4 by 3&3/4
fold in in quarters. Cut the as shown in the pix. You'll have
1 square and 2 triangles that you can toss or keep as scraps.
on one of the triangle flaps I also cut just a sliver because
when I folded it down it created a little bulk.

Fold in this fashion...

use bone folder if necessary to make the crisp folds

paste your nerdy Hello Kitty.
Finished bookmark

Hope you had fun... now to link up at Rosie's place.

Thanks for visiting.

Cardz TV Bunny Week Challenge

Hello everyone,

My take on the bunny card. I used the Hello Kitty Greetings cart. I didn't have any carts with eggs so I had to improvise and use ovals as eggs and used glitter cardstock. Grass is from Paper Doll Dress Up. The basket is from Create a Critter Cart. I drew on some faux stitching to give it a more complete look. The Spanish sentiment "Feliz Domingo de Pascua" means "Happy Easter Sunday." The font I used is Giddyup std and size 23.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks Mary for the opportunity.

Emma's "Chinese New Year" Challenge! -Episode~149

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to my page, hope you are doing well. I made this money envelope card for Emma Aguilar's "Chinese New Year Challenge" http://www.creativetimeforme.com/2011/01/imagination-monday-chinese-new-year.html
I used the Hello Kitty Greetings Cart. Being that this will be the Year of the Rabbit or Year of the Hair I decided to use one with a bunny- I saw one I liked for the pose with hello kitty but it was a bear so I modified it... the one with the bear and welded some bananas for the "bunny ears" looks somewhat odd but oh well I still like the outcome. I was trying to go for Hello Kitty's friend My Melody but when I was done I realized I put her flower on the wrong side... oh well for that too. lol. For the background paper I used from my Far East stack I bough from Big Lots a couple of years back. For the gilded letters I used a technique from mybutterflykisses12 (that's her youtube username)
My version didnt come out as good as hers because I decided to see how it would look if I embossed it- so it looks beat up but the looks works with the theme- I think. Also The red envelope and flat card are from the Recollections line.

Oh yea some US currency will also embellish the flat card ;)

Thanks for checking out my blog.

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge # 38

Hello Everyone,

Hopefully all of you enjoyed your weekend. I did with the family and had some time to do some crafting. This project is for the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge # 38 here's the link: http://peachykeenstampschallenge.blogspot.com/2010/10/peachy-keen-stamps-challenge-38-october.html The challenge was to create a project that was NOT A CARD. Something that was part of this season such as Halloween... or Thanksgiving and I'm not sure but you had to use some Peachy Keen Stamps in your project. I Decided to do a wall or door hanging for Trick-or-Treaters or "office guests" at work lol... not sure which one I want to use it on yet... (hmm... who deserves it more hmm... j/k) Part of this idea came from Emma's Episode 93 and the Hello Kitty project she did. I must say this project took me almost all day stopping often and I mean often to check on the kids, feed them, clean them... blah blah blah.... Also took me a while because I decided to make my Hello Kitties small.... I'm not sure if I want to make them that small in the future anymore. But I did love how my sign/wall hanging came out. Now I just need to figure out how I will hang it and with what.
