7 Kids Crafts: Many Thanks

Hello Everyone,

I think I'm getting hooked on making slimeline cards, they are perfect for cash, for a check or just to write a long-winded message like I like doing sometimes. heehee For my card I wanted to make it look vintagey (I know that can't be a real word) but with a pop of color. I colored the Stamping Bella Daisy Squidgy with Caran D'Ache Water-soluble colored pencils. On top of the dried watersoluble color pencil/watercoloring, I then used a little bit of Polychromos to add depth. The slimline die is by Mama Elephant called Creative Cuts, Slim Card Basics. The letters that form the word "many" come from the Altenew set that I've been hoarding for a while called Tall Alpha die.

7 Kids Crafts: Make Waves

Hello Everyone! I hope you're having a fantastic day.

Today I worked on a card featuring this pretty mermaid by Maria Medel who has done these stamps exclusively for 7 Kids Crafts Store. This set is called Making Waves. I colored her with Karin Brushmarker Pro and a little bit of Polychromos. The Slim Card Basics die is by Mama Elephant. There are also some fun slimline dies by Whimsy Stamps in the store.

When I think about Slim Line cards I always think about money envelopes so I think
they would be a fun way to give a cash or check as a gift.

Sweet November Guest DT - Tide Mayfin

Hello Everyone!

I'm excited Sweet November has launched their own website and also asked me to guest DT for their opening release. The newest stamp in the shop is called Tide Mayfin, you can use her with or without the little fish. I decided to use Tide Mayfin with the little fish because I wanted to create a Teacher Appreciation card. During the Quarantine the classes have been on zoom and have different classroom times, some are the entire class, some days small groups and some days one on one. Tide Mayfin looks so happy with the little school of fish swimming around her that I was inspired to make a teacher card with her.

I colored her up with Polychromos and the background with a marker to cover the base. I tried to keep the most detail on the mermaid and the little school of fish by coloring with bright and cheerful colors.

Wish You A Beautiful Day

Hello Everyone!

I had so much fun trying Kathy Racoosin's Coloring Challenge Road Trip (online edition.) Some techniques I've already done just by the number of years playing with these mediums and some were new. I tried to follow her instruction as much as possible and I love what I came up with in the end. The stamp I used is from Waffle Flower Crafts called Peony Bouquet, which I've been hoarding for a while but I had courage to stamp it out because of Kathy's suggestions in being fearless.

Day: One

7 Kids Crafts: I love you in so many ways

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today I'm sharing a card made with two sets from the latest Penny Black Inc release, make sure to grab some of these cute stamps sets at 7 Kids Crafts Store while supplies last. For this somewhat simple card I used: Penny Black IncTake Me Away and Penny Black Inc: Love Language.

To color these cute bears that are floating away via balloons I first used a Spectrum Noirs as a base and then added shading details with color pencils. I wanted the teddy bears to sort of represent my hubby and I so I made one dark brown and one lighter brown.

Take Me Away and Love Language

I used both Polychromos and Prismacolor pencils.
Polychromos:
Burnt Umber, Caput Mortuum, Black, Burnt Ochre, Dark Red,
Fhuchsia, Rose Carmine, Cold Grey VI
the sky was done lightly with Light Ultramarine
Prismacolor:
Sienna Brown
Uni-ball Signo White Angelic

Although I stamped my sentiment with my Misti I did not realize that my ink was kind of dry and attempted to go over it several times but my image shifted and had to go over the font with a gel pen.

I hope you like the card even though I messed it up with how my sentiment came out.

there is also. Make sure to participate by creating something with these images for a chance to win next month's stamps but anyone who participates gets to have a tot digi.

A little excerpt about  Neva Snowflake Fairy: She is as soft and gentle as a midnight snowfall under the full moon. Peace and tranquility emanate from her like an aura of serenity. She never seems to be in a hurry to get anywhere... for Neva it is the journey, not the destination, that is important. And of all the Snowflake Fairies only Neva has the patience and skill to create the most beautiful icicles that decorate the winter landscape.

This mini bundle includes 6 digis: Neva the Snowflake fairy, her shadow, magical snow flurry and 3 snowflakes. Also included is a completed scene jpg, all ready to print and color. As

I was coloring my card, I was watching Amy Young's 7 Kids Facebook live where she created an Aurora Borealis on her background so I was inspired to create one too. Of course mine didn't come out as beautiful as hers but I still liked the colorful background. I also wanted to color in an African skin tone and give her a fun hair color.

It's kind of hard to photograph but in person this looks very shimmery and so pretty.

I hope you liked my card.

7 Kids Crafts: Nixie Snowflake Fairy

Hello Everyone & Happy New Year!

Welcome to the Beautiful Blizzard release over at 7 Kids Craft Store. There are 3 main fairies and a couple of ocean animals for you to enjoy.

For today and tomorrow there is a special mega bundle deal 2 Day Mega Bundle Deal - Beautiful Blizzard, you get more images to play with but you can also chose to get the smaller sets

there is also. Make sure to participate by creating something with these images for a chance to win next month's stamps but anyone who participates gets to have a tot digi.

Okay, on to my card... The first image I decided to color is Nixie Snowflake Fairy
A little excerptNixie Snowflake Fairy is  floating among the snowflakes like a fairy snowflake angel! She is delightful and beautiful snowflake fairy!

I love that she looks like she's a snowflake twirling in the sky and looks so happy and loving. Did you check out the dimple I gave her? heehee  All of the fairies from this release also make me think of the Sugarplum Fairies from the Nutcracker or the little fairies from the Disney Fantasia movie.

With this release I wanted to try and color on blue cardstock because I was feeling kind of lazy with coloring the background but I think I gave myself more work by having to color the snowflakes LOL  (lesson learned.) I did like the effect those because on top of having a solid blue background I added some Distress Oxide around the edges of the card and part of the snow flurries to make it look like she's glowing. On top of the small snow/fairy dust I added Nuvo Dream Drops: Cloud 9 and on the bigger snowflakes I added GellyrollClearstar as well as part of the snowflake skirt just to show how thin the ice is. The sentiment is from Lavinia stamp and is called Fairy Dust is like Love

That is it for now. I hope that you enjoy these pretty stamps as much as I do.

7 Kids Crafts: Snowy Christmas Blessings

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the Christmas Fairy Release week by Sweet November Digital Stamps. I am excited to share the card I made today using:  Christmas Pine Fairy. I colored her up with Copic markers and and little bit of Polychromos for shading/molding the facial features. For the wings I used Spectrum Noir Sparkle brush pend and Uni-ball Signo Sparkling Gold. The die set is by Hello Bluebird and it's Snowy Sky Scene die. I used Distress Oxides for the background.

There are in the four pretty little Christmas fairies that were released for you all to enjoy. You can find them here:

Christmas Pine Fairy
Christmas Holly Fairy
Christmas Mistletoe Fairy
Christmas Poinsettia Fairy
and if you missed this month's Freebie stamp you can still purchase it here: Jingle

Here's a little excerpt from the Sweet November team about Pine Fairy:

"Some say that Pine Fairy coined the term 'rustic elegance'. She is all about finding the beauty in natural elements when it comes time to decorate for the holidays. From pine cone wreaths bathed in the glow of bees wax candles to the classic Christmas tree decked out with nuts and winter berries, she knows that Christmas doesn't have to be bright and flashy to be beautiful."

She does look very elegant and reminded me of those High School Senior portraits we take
for the yearbook. heehee
So I enlarged her and cropped her so I can give her more details on the face.

Here I had to tilt the card and changed the lighting again so you can see her
shimmery wings and embossed stamp from
Our Daily Bread Designs.

I hope that you like the card and hope that you can play along for the month of December at the
7 Kids Customers Create! Facebook page

You can also share all of your creations you've done from
items Kelly carries in her store.

7 Kids Crafts: Know What's Better Than Christmas Cookies

Hello Everyone!

I hope you're off to a great week. Just wanted to share this card I made using Noe Bundle by Sweet November Digital Stamps. This image I started coloring for Day 24 of #TheDailyMarker30Day challenge. It's a really cute image and I used both Copic markers and Polychromos pencils to for shading. The tray of cutout cookies are actually from Mrs. Claus Bundle. For a mega pop of bright and cheery to the background, I masked the image and then used a dauber to create a texturized look with Distress Ink: Mustard Seed. See Bright and fun. I made this into a long card or what some call a slim line card but I like to think of it as a money card. Heehee

Oh yea, also just to let you know that 7 Kids Crafts is having an early Black Friday sale. 30% off store wide (excludes: New Arrivals, Pre-orders and digital stamps)
For 30% off use code: BLACKFRIDAY30

The sentiment I created myself on my computer.

The inside says: Christmas Dough

Copic colors:

Y06, Y15, YG23, YF25, YG17
RV25, RV29, RV66

Thinking of You

Hello Crafty Friends,

I hope you are all doing well. I have a friend named BreAnn, who had a birthday in Heaven this month. When this time of the year comes around I always seem to think of her mother. I never know just what to say but this time I am sending her a card. I know that this month in particular BreAnn, her family and friends always showed awareness for Pulmonary Hypertension. The PHA or Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness ribbon is Periwinkle but for some reason I had the inspiration to color the roses red and small flowers pink. I will definitely work on cards with Periwinkle or another purpley color for PHA.

I decided to use  a digi stamp called: Ching-Chou Kuik - Love Birds and colored it up with Polychromos and a couple of Prismacolor pencils. To embellish and add dimension to the the image I used Nuvo Crystal Drops. I also used a die set from Sizzix Thinlits by Stephanie Bernard #661116 I purchased the word dies on Amazon but I'm sure you can probably find it in different craft stores. I used the words "thinking," "of," and "you." The technique I used to not have to crop off or cover my image is called Eclipse Technique and I learned that from Amy Young.

Thank you so much for visiting.

7 Kids Crafts: Gingy have a holly jolly Christmas

Hello Crafty Friends!

Last week over at 7 Kids Crafts there was a vault release with sweet Gingy. There were 5 images in total.

For today's card I used Gingy with Popcorn by Sweet November Stamps. I colored him up with Polychromos pencils and I used both a soft and burnishing techniques depending on the area I was coloring. I used an older Hello Bluebird sentiment from the Typed Christmas sentiment set. I stamped the sentiment with VersaFine Clair: Nocturne.

I loved coloring and giving little Gingy a background setting for his little popcorn and holly berry garland. I started with some big pine tree needles to emphasize on Gingy's small stature. Then I sort of filled in the background with a big Christmas tree skirt. Then added a dark wood floor, white baseboard and a creamy yellow wall. To add some shine to the frosting and holly berries, I added glossy accents and let dry overnight before cropping down with the rectangle die by My Creative Time.

I hope you get a chance to play with theses cute little Gingys if you grabbed them

And she's not alone, she's got help from Gingy, the sweet little gingerbread man brought to life by Christmas magic. Gingy has been sorting the biggest and best of the gumdrops for the special gingerbread house that he and Mrs. Claus have been putting together."

7 Kids Crafts: Monsters Only

Hello Crafty Friends,

I had used this stamp on my previous post here: Dreaming of a White Christmas and I got so many questions about the coloring that I decided to do a facebook live with it even though I don't think I'm an expert at color pencils at all. You can check out the live here if you have time: Katya's Facebook Live at 7 Kids Customer's Create using Beaming elf. Kelly has ordered more of this cute elf from Penny Black and you'll be able to color him up too when it's restocked. During my live coloring I had a crafty friend, Sheila Fisher said she was planning to use him with Halloween colors. I thought this little elf colored in Halloween colors was a brilliant idea and after the live I had to ask her if it was okay to use that idea and she said yes. Yay! The first thing I thought was to color him up in green skin to make him into a little cute goblin and give him candy corn colored stripes. haha

The colors are listed below.

The Doodlebug papers are still in the shop and you can find them here:
Doodlebug Designs- 6x6 pad Candy Carnival

The banner and the sentiment which are all part of a 90 piece die cut set are available here:
Doodlebug Designs - Chit Chat Die Cuts - Candy Carnival
(note: I did trim the white from the banners/pennant.)

Beaming - Penny Black

Polychromos used:

Orange Glaze, Light Cadmium Red, Purple Violet, Mauve

7 Kids Crafts: I'm Dreaming of a Bright Christmas

Hello Crafty Friends,

I wanted to share this cute little elf called Beaming, (back in stock) by Penny Black. There are still more cute Christmas Penny Black clear stamps available at 7 Kids Crafts store. I colored image with color pencils. I wanted to keep the card clean and simple so I didn't add much to the background. I also wanted to light up the Christmas lights by plugging them into an outlet so I drew it in just for fun.

I did a live tutorial on how I colored up this image...
well it was a second card but same technique and same colors were applied.

7 Kids Crafts: Spread a Little Holiday Cheer

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all are having a great day. For this card I mixed some digi, clear and rubber stamps. First I printed Emaline's gift (Sweet November vault digi stamp) on Kraft Cardstock because I find it easy to color with my Polychromos pencils.  I also printed another one of her the same size on basic printer paper so I can create a mask.

After fussy cutting that mask I used some daubers to color in the background with Distress Oxides and the snow at the ground was with ColorBox Frost White. You can probably hit that with the heat gun but because of my erratic schedules I just set it aside and worked on it the very next day. All of the inks were completely dry, and I felt it needed a little more of something.

I realized that I had purchased this Snowy Afternoon Flakes stamp by Studio Light from the 7 Kids Crafts. I was afraid that I wouldn't get a good impression but the impression was pretty good. I stamped it with  StazOn Pigment Snowflake. I did mess up on my card though. LOL I'll show you my practice paper so you can see how good it stamped on the very first try and then I'll explain what I did wrong on my final card. Hopefully you won't make the same mistake as me or if you do how you can disguise the little accident. (My kids say "Happy little Oops" that they learned from their art teacher or maybe it's a "Happy Little Accident" as Bob Ross would say. haha

Yes, I keep pieces of scratch cardstock and reuse them because I don't like to waste my  paper...
Can you see? That was just one stamp and I didn't have to condition the stamp at all. The paper was nice and flat but on my card I had a slight shift on the snowflakes because my paper was slightly curved and I should have used a washi tape to hold it down. The stamp is large and covers about
5.5 x5.5 so I couldn't use a magnet on the top of the card. So my suggestion is to use washi tape
but as I mentioned before I failed to do that part.

Here you can see that I was trying to hold it down as I was trying to put the stamp press on it
and it's where I should have used the washi tape instead.
I didn't mention that I did cut a piece of paper
to a rounded shape so I can cover the face. I know snow goes everywhere but because I put so much emphasis on her little facial features I didn't want to cover them up with snowflakes.

To try to fix my error I tried to use a Sakura Gellyroll Clear star to hide some of the flaws in the snowflakes that I messed up on. It's not too noticeable now. The sentiment stamp is from The Greeting Farm, and the cursive writing I wrote myself because I felt there was too much negative space.

Anyway, that was too much rambling on my behalf. I hope you learned something and I hope you like the card even though there are human errors on it. LOL

Thank you so much for stopping by, in a couple of days Sweet November Stamps will have a brand new release. All I can say is that is Halloween-ish. heehee

Design Team's cards and live videos

Hello Everyone!

Just wanted to share some of the details for the Artist Trading Coin I created on Facebook live at

7 Kids Crafts: Cupcake Cutie

Hello Everyone!

It feels like I've been gone from my craft room forever even though only a week has passed by.  I did do a couple live crafty videos while out of town for 7 Kids Customer's Create!  and I was a nervious wreck. LOL If you have watched them let me know what you think and I'm open to suggestions because I am still learning.

On to my card, I wanted to make sure I colored her up pretty big without cropping her. I knew that while I was going to be out of town I was going to use my Polychromos pencils so I printed her on Kraft paper. I kept this card pretty clean and simple because I wanted to put details on her face and the whip frosting of the cupcake. Isn't Josie adorable?! When I looked at her I imaged her with dimples. At first I was a little sketchy on how it was turning out but as I kept coloring it came out alright, I think.

Cupcake Cutie - C.C. Design

Polychromos (in random order) used:
Ivory, White, Black, Burnt Siena, Burnt Ochre,
Cadmium Yellow, Burnt Umber, Dark Flesh, Black

Light Cobalt. Turquoise, Light Phthalo Blue, Cobalt Turquoise,

Sweet November - Peony Fae
Sweet November - Rose Fae
Sweet November - Dahlia Fae
Sweet November - Gerbera Daisy Fae

Plus lots more  add-ons

A little excerpt on Sweet November - Rose Fae:

First along the garden path is Rose. Everyone knows that Rose is the queen of the summer garden, her beautiful blooms standing tall and proud above all the other flowers. She is as sweet as the fragrance of her flowers and even more lovely than an entire bouquet.

For this image I kept thinking she looked like a mixture of Snow White, Rapunzel and even Elsa from Frozen. After I colored her hair black I was thinking I should have colored her hair blonde instead... but maybe for another card right? I used Polychromos on Kraft paper to color her up but I didn't press very hard or tried to burnish to keep the soft look.

Here you can see some of the shimmer on the sheer fabric of her dress.
I know it's a little hard to see the shimmer with my lighting.

Polychromos:
White, Warm Grey II, Warm Grey IV, Black
Dark Flesh,  Chrome Oxide Green

Distress Oxide:
Pumice Stone, Black Soot

7 Kids Crafts: You've been in my thoughts

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome to the Summer Garden by release Sweet November Stamps over at 7 Kids Crafts. The design team has some really beautiful cards to share and I really enjoyed coloring this month's release. Because these images have many details I really wanted to use my colored pencils to give them justice. I am sure that anyone can color them beautifully with markers or other mediums but for my ability I wanted to use pencils. I get a little more control using colored, plus I hadn't used mine in a while. I wanted to use only Polychromos pencils but I didn't realize that I grabbed a couple of Prismacolor pencils as well.... shows my organization heehee but I did like the colors when I laid them down on Kraft Cardstock..

August 1st and 2nd there will be a Sweet November Summer Garden Bundle Deal Just click the link for the special price.

If you checked out the link you'll notice that there are several lovely Summer Garden lady fae in this collection.

Here is an excerpt of Sweet November - Gerbera Daisy Fae:

Next along the garden path the happy Gerbera Daisy Fae welcomes all with a cheery disposition that matches the flowers she so loves. There is a happiness in this corner of the garden that is completely irresistible. One can't help but smile as you watch the daisies sway and dance atop their long stems and Gerbera Daisy dancing right along with them.

To create my card I use 4 different sets listed below:

I used lots of colors to color my image.
