Twinkle, Twinkle, little bat

Hello Everyone,

This digi stamp is called Alicia Bel: Pretty Ritty. I was inspired by the Alice in Wonderland, Dormouse so I colored her up in the way the cartoon Disney movie portrays him.  I hand wrote the little song he sings:

"Twinkle, twinkle, little bat.
How I wonder what you're at,
Up above the world you fly,
Like a a teatray in the sky."

I used Copic markers to color her up
and Distress Oxides for the background.

Most of the Copic makers used:
R21, R30
R30, E04, E23, E27, E29
W1, W00, YG03, YG17, YG67
RV06, RV09, RV19, RV66
V04, V05, V06, V09, V15
Y08, Y26, Y28

Vintage Nurse

Hello Crafty Friends!

Hope all is well. My son Tiberius had gotten sick mid week so I was inspired to work on a little "Get Well Card" then next thing you know I get sick too. :(
One day I'll color this image in bright colors but this time I felt like giving her a vintage look. The stamp is called Nurse https://www.aliciabel.com/product-page/nurse. The sentiment is from C.C. Designs called For the Nurses.   I used Copic markers and Distress Inks to color this image up.

Bond Girl Birthday

Hi Everyone!

The image I colored a whiiiile ago but finally made it into a card. I'm sharing this card for "Birthday Celebration Day 20 with Corinne & Sharon." Betty and her DT gals are having fun challenges all month long. The challenge Show your favorite technique and anything goes as long as you use a Simply B Stamp.  (Easy enough right?) The prize is for $10 Gift Certificate to Simply B Stamps store. This one is drawn by Alicia Bel for Simply Betty Stamps.
I love these stamps! the Bond girl is from Simply B Stamps (Retired image in digi form Betty has them back Saturday June 29th through July 3rd in collection sets) but the background is from Make It Crafty. I created the sentiment on my computer and just added a little glitter with Copic Atyou pens. The image was colored with Copic and Spectrum Noir Markers. My favorite technique is merging stamps or adding a background. Thanks for visiting. I hope you liked it. Burlesque 2 Bloghop

Hi Everyone!

I bet you're having a super fun time hoping. I you're coming from the very creative Miss Laura's blog http://craftylittlewoman.blogspot.com/ then you're in the right place, if not then you'd want to start at: Simply Betty's Stamps Blog: http://simplybettystamps.blogspot.com/

This was colored like a month ago and we all had to keep them a secret this entire time. Here is my card:

I used Betty Pucker Up digi stamp
You can find here:
http://simplybstamps.net/category_328/Betty-Burlesque-2-Digis.htm
or here
http://www.aliciabel.com/public/en/sexy/73-marilyn-lipstick.html
If you've shopped here before you'll notice the price reduction on these fabulous stamp ;)

I hadn't added a sentiment since I wasn't sure I was going to give it to
one of my girly friends or my hubby.
I used both Copic and Spectrum Noir to color her up.
The Paper is from a 6x12 double sided paper pad I have from Crafty Secrets. I love that paper!

It's not very well pictured but I colored her legs first,
then I used a Sakura gelly roll to draw in the stockings in a cross pattern
so they look like very sexy shimmery and sheer stockings.
I used the Copic Spica glitter pen to add to her lipstick (both the lips and tube).

That's it for now ladies and gents. Sorry couldn't show more at the moment. I colored more but
with my daily tasks didn't get a chance to put them on cards YET. You
will definitely see more of these little ladies they're so much fun to color.
Thank you so much for stopping by -- Leave a comment let me know you stopped by ;)

Happy Birthday Betty

Hello Everyone!

Hoping all is well. Wishing Betty Roberts a super happy birthday. Betty is the brain child/creator of Simply Betty Stamps a.k.a. Simply B Stamps, this image was drawn specifically for Betty's shop by Alicia Bel.

I made her a little card... although I wanted to do something else but haven't had the chance to work on that particular project so for now this is what I have done.

I used one of her clear stamps on
black cardstock with PrismaColor Pencils
to achieve this effect. (No OMS this time)

Here is a closeup  of the image
It almost reminded me of chalk the blackboard in my
elementary/middle school days.

13 Days of Halloween, Day 12

Hello Everyone!

Just stopping by to show off another little card I've made using digi stamps from Simply Betty Stamps it's from the Alicia Bel line and I think she's so cute.

The sentiment is from Dilo en Espanol Set# 2: Queremos Pastel

I made these roses a while while back with my Spellbinder's die
Rose Creations

Here's a slight close-up with a little bit of better lighting.
I colored with almost all Copic markers this time exception of the cat's eyes
and the gray stone and gray shingles and window frames-
those were with Spectrum Noir markers.

I made a little card using Witchy Boo Betty and House of Usher from Simply Betty Stamps; She gave this house scene as a freeby for a day or two a while back on the Facebook fan page and am embarrassed to say that I didn't use it right away.

Hope you like it.

Big or Small Save Them All

Hello All!

Hadn't posted in a while and I had colored up a digi from Simply Betty Stamps but hadn't done anything with it. I knew I wanted to eventually use her on a Breast Cancer Awareness card... just needed a sketch or something since I'm a little challenged.

I used Betty Little Dark Mistress
(which is retired as a digi by the way and is now only sold as rubber)
Papers are by: Anna Griffin

I used a quote I found online
Big or Small Save Them All
I thought it would be awesome to use with this stamp heehee
Thought it was a fun way to show awareness to some that
may want to avoid something as serious getting screened for this cancer.
Some cultures as Hispanic/Latinas I've heard that
may skip getting a mammograms or pap smears
because of being ashamed or fear that the doctor may look or touch in a perverted way
and no I didn't read this online... Growing up friends of my mother or
hearing chit chatter on the bus or street they
would say something along the lines of they went to an appointment
and the doctor wanted to check here or there... and that they will
never let anyone see or touch them there oooooh no how embarrasing.
BUT you can't save them unless you get those things checked out.

Well it's getting late and I have a bunch of things to do tonight and in the morning ugh!

Thank you so much for stopping by... I hope you liked the card.

Simply Betty Stamps Secret Release # 3: Sneak Peeks Day 3

Hello everyone!

Coming back today with another fun project featuring Simply Betty Stamp

Betty Little Dark Mistress

Make sure you start from the beginning so you won't miss any of the amazing project. If you're coming from Rachel's page  http://rachelspaperwishes.blogspot.com/ then you're in the right place; if not then your starting point should be at: http://simplybettystamps.blogspot.com/

Super fun image and I do see myself making different cards with it (it'll help my coloring too.)

So here I present her to you paired up with Morning Betty (an older stamp of SBS)

I'm showcasing the card as a filmstrip (snip) inspired by the movie:
Elvira- Mistress of the Dark
This is the scene where her car breaks down in this "conservative town"
where she's told she doesn't fit in.
I cut the film strip with my Cricut but since I don't have a cartridge
with a film strip I just "created" one with my Gypsy.

Hope you like it.

Simply Betty Stamps Secret Release # 3: Sneak Peeks Day 2

Hello again my crafty peeps!

I'm back again with another secret sneak peak from Simply Betty Stamps.

Make sure you start from the beginning so you won't miss any of the amazing project. If you're coming from Rachel's page  http://rachelspaperwishes.blogspot.com/ then you're in the right place; if not then your starting point should be at: http://simplybettystamps.blogspot.com/

Today I'm introducing: Betty Little Dark Homemaker

I'm not sure who the image was inspired by but after giving it quite
some thought I felt she looked a lot like Morticia Addams about to deadhead a rose...
I found a quote and hand wrote it on the card that reads:
"Oh the thorns are lovely this year." - Morticia Addams

This is the finished card.
(yep those are real thorns got them from my green bin and poked my fingers a few times too LOL)

I decided not to use scrapbook papers this time and go with a garden scene
from Make It Crafty digi stamps it's called Rose Garden. I decided to make the bird into a crow...

Just when I was done writing on the card I seemed to smudge my image on the face
with some black ink argggg.... but I was able to scratch most of it off {sighs}
then go over it with the color I chose for the skin I almost cried LOL nah jk
Here you can see that I tried to apply "eye shadow" with Star Dust gelly rolls and Atyou Spica.
Also the crow I've seen them in the neighborhood and they seem to have black with shiny
sort of bluish shine to them. Hope you love these images as much as I do. They were in
digi form for a few days and then were retired to only rubber stamps.

Next in line is:

Simply Betty Stamps Secret Release # 3: Sneak Peeks

Hello there my crafty peeps!

Wooo.... I been on a roll with coloring... and I say that 'cause I'm usually super slow at it or it takes me several days to finish a project LOL (no seriously).

Make sure you start from the beginning so you won't miss any of the amazing project. If you're coming from Rachel's page  http://rachelspaperwishes.blogspot.com/ then you're in the right place; if not then your starting point should be at: http://simplybettystamps.blogspot.com/

So here is my card using: Betty Little Munster Lady.

I still consider myself "Halloween challenged" so I asked my hubby,
"What does this image look like to you?"
He said, "It looks like a Priest, Mage or Warlock... but then again maybe not Priest
since the costume cut looks sort of 'dark' but it still looks like a conjurer or spellcaster."
To me all that just means some type of witch LOL I used to play World of Warcraft a long long time ago but I don't remember any of this stuff and
I don't remember playing with any of those races or classes.
BUT his info gave me an idea... I have this paper stack named,
ALL SEASONS by Recollections
I chose two Halloween papers from that stack and fussy cut the potions.
I tried to hand-write the letters a little sketchy with a white jelly roll
using the opening lyrics from this song called:
I Put a Spell on You by Screamin' Jay Hawkins, yep it's an oldie heehee.
I don't know what I'm going to do with this card yet (scratching my head) LOL.

Here is a close-up:
I used Spectrum Noirs on everything except the lips
and the light part of her hair.

Anyway I hope I didn't bore you too much with my rambling next in line for the sneak peek is:

Aeryn Kelly-Reitmeyer http://www.aerynkelly.com

Thanks for visiting and go ahead keep on peeking heehe!

13 Days of Halloween, Day 1

Hello Everyone!

Hope all is well. I have a Halloween tag for you today. I haven't really been a "Halloween" type of person but ever since I been following Simply Betty Stamps I'm diggin' the theme. Her stamps are way too cute which I been buying from time to time but haven't had the time to color or after seeing others show case them I get a little intimidated LOL but we all have to start somewhere so I'm starting to use my SBS digi stamps which until recently I was just hoarding them in my computer. Anyway check out http://simplychallengedchallenges.blogspot.com/ there you'll be able to participate on SBS 13 days of Halloween. The first challenge is:

Trick or Treat for a Tot or anything for a child.

Challenge Guidelines:
1. Make anything suitable for a Child, a treat bag, a page layout, card, anything as long as it is Halloween and for a child!
2. There must be at least 6 entries for the prize.
3. Winner will be determined by popular vote by the DT
4. Must be a new project never posted on any online sites

I have created a tag for my daughter Jade. I'm going to tie it to her Halloween candy bucket (some call it "Halloween pail") when she takes it to school on Halloween, when we take her out trick-or-treating and then she can just keep in her room as decoration.

For this tag I used S.B.S.: Pumpkin Mickey Hat Betty Digi
the back just has her first name.
The tag was cut with my Cricut
The papers are from a punch pad by Martha Stewart
The sentiment I just typed and printed it out
The sheer ribbon is from the Dollar Tree
And I used a spellbinders die.

I'm still working on my "highlights" and or
lighting/shading technique with markers
but slowly getting there...
by observing the lovely crafters at SBS and other groups of course

Here is a close up of the digi image.
I used Copic markers to color her face, body and costume
BUT I used Spetrum Noirs to color in her hair.
I tried to go lightly with the Stikles on the Mickey hat...

My daughter loves her tag hope you like it.

Thank you for visiting.
