7 Kids Crafts: Snowy Christmas Blessings

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the Christmas Fairy Release week by Sweet November Digital Stamps. I am excited to share the card I made today using:  Christmas Pine Fairy. I colored her up with Copic markers and and little bit of Polychromos for shading/molding the facial features. For the wings I used Spectrum Noir Sparkle brush pend and Uni-ball Signo Sparkling Gold. The die set is by Hello Bluebird and it's Snowy Sky Scene die. I used Distress Oxides for the background.

There are in the four pretty little Christmas fairies that were released for you all to enjoy. You can find them here:

Christmas Pine Fairy
Christmas Holly Fairy
Christmas Mistletoe Fairy
Christmas Poinsettia Fairy
and if you missed this month's Freebie stamp you can still purchase it here: Jingle

Here's a little excerpt from the Sweet November team about Pine Fairy:

"Some say that Pine Fairy coined the term 'rustic elegance'. She is all about finding the beauty in natural elements when it comes time to decorate for the holidays. From pine cone wreaths bathed in the glow of bees wax candles to the classic Christmas tree decked out with nuts and winter berries, she knows that Christmas doesn't have to be bright and flashy to be beautiful."

She does look very elegant and reminded me of those High School Senior portraits we take
for the yearbook. heehee
So I enlarged her and cropped her so I can give her more details on the face.

Here I had to tilt the card and changed the lighting again so you can see her
shimmery wings and embossed stamp from
Our Daily Bread Designs.

I hope that you like the card and hope that you can play along for the month of December at the
7 Kids Customers Create! Facebook page

You can also share all of your creations you've done from
items Kelly carries in her store.
Thank you so much for stopping by.

Aloha!

Good Morning!

Just wanted to share a card I made with the rubber stamp I colored for Day 25: of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. This one is from the Aloha Kit. All of the stamps in the Aloha Kit are super cute and I have colored only one before this one. I had this Doodlebug paper out on  my desk so I decided to pull out my Aloha Kit- good thing I had already cut the rubber stamps too. The aloha sentiment is also from the same kit I just stamped and cut around. The rectangle die is from Our Daily Bread Designs, the small circle die is from My Creative Time and scalloped die is from

7 Kids Crafts: You Make Life Bloom!

Hello Everyone!

I used a Dreamerland Crafts stamp. Just an FYI all of the stamps from Dreamerland Crafts are part of o the Vendor of the Month sale at 7 Kids Crafts using code DREAM for a 20% off discount.

Nourishing Life

To make sure not to cut around the bunny's tail, ears and the boy's hat I first fussy
cut around those sections so I can use the outer bounds method with
the circle spellbinders die. I also don't have a circle that is 1/4 bigger
so I just traced the outer part of the circle die and fussy cut it.
I used Memento: Desert Sand ink (Copic safe) to stamp the image. I know I want to
cut it with a circle die so I just traced my circle die before I started coloring.
I used the Homegrown 6x6 pad from Echo Park.
I used a little distress ink for the sky
and Distress Oxide for banner Shabby Shutters and Vintage Photo
and Kraftin' Kimmie rubber stamp for the sentiment.

Copic markers used:
E0000, E00, E11, R11
E23, YR12, E21
E31, E33, E42
R17, E07, E81, Y02,
G28
YG25
E50, E51

7 Kids Crafts: Dreamerland Windy Days Together

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope you're all having a wonderful day. I wanted to work with a combination of watercolors and color pencils. For this card I used a rubber stamp from Dreamerland Crafts called Windy Days Together. I wanted to show you a card with this stamp because Dreamerland Crafts and Washi Tape are both items included in the Vendor of the Month Sale over at 7 Kids Crafts just make sure to enter code: DREAM for 20% off discount.

I started with Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolors (first time using this one) on Canson Mixed Media 138 lbs paper. It's not very a heavy paper so I made sure not to over saturate it with water. After watercoloring and drying the image, I went in on certain areas with Polychromos just to outline certain areas and to give her a plaid look on her dress and hat. For the purple flowers on the bush
I used a Caran D'Ache Supracolor Watercolor pencil. The Dreamerland Crafts stamp did not come with a sentiment but I have another really cute set from The Greeting Farm called Hey Pretty Kitty and I use one from there. When I was all done I used a Picket Fence Studios - Life Changing Brush with Distress Oxide Vintage Photo to well make it look like a vintage photo. To give it a
finished look I used a rectangle die from Our Daily Bread Designs.

Winsor & Newton (Cotman) Watercolors:
Ultramarine, Chinese White, Alizarin Crimson Hue,
Viridian Hue, Yellow Ochre and Burn Umber

7 Kids Crafts: You're All Sorts of Wonderful

Hello and Happy Sunday Everyone!

I hope you area all having a wonderful day. First I like to mention that the Vendor of the Month over at 7KidsCrafts.com is Mama Elephant and Nuvo Drops (Does NOT include new arrivals.) To make sure you get the 20% discount make sure to enter the code: MAMA

For my card I used two sets of Mama Elephant sets, one is called Mama Elephant: Big News and the other one is called Mama Elephant: Stackable Cuties.

I first colored the little unicorn with Copic markers on the Catherine Pooler - Premium White Cardstock.  I drew a rainbow and sky for the background with watercolor pencils from Caran D'Ache which are so pretty especially when you add the water on top. I feel that I can control the color a little more with watercolor pencils.  I had drawn some clouds and I did not like how they came out but remembered that I had some small cloud dies from Stamp AnnieThing so I used those
and distressed them a little on the edges.

I'm a little uncomfortable making CAS cards but I think this one came out alright... just the planning took me a little longer than I had hoped for.

Mama Elephant: Big News and Mama Elephant: Stackable Cuties

I dimmed the lights so you can see
the shimmer on the wings and on the unicorn
and I even added a few little sparkling stars
around the unicorn and sky
Here is how the colors look with the light.

I added a little bit of embossing powder to the
sentiment just to give it a little sparkle.
Here is how I started, lightly colored
then added water in a controlled fashion
with a small watercolor brush.

Copic markers:
RV000, Y00, G00, BG10, BV0000, C3 and C1

Caran D'Ache Supracolor II Soft:
080, 060, 010, 210, 140, 120, 110, 005 and 171

Don't forget today is the last day if
you want to get the Sweet November MERMAY Bundle
of course you can buy them individually and I believe
they are here until Friday 5/24

Thank you for so much for visiting.

7 Kids Crafts: Thank You So Much

Hello Crafty Friends!

Happy International Scrapbooking Day!

Today there is lots of fun stuff going on at 7Kids Customers Create Facebook Page and a nice sale at www.7kidscrafts.com - 25% off (exclusdes digis and new releases.)

This time I wanted to create a card for my son's teacher. She's going away on maternity leave and won't be at school for Teacher's Week. I wanted to create a card that isn't girly at all because I want her to think about my son when she looks at the image. heehee. I was actually one of the winners for from CC Designs for the month of March and I waited to use my gift code until April, I just couldn't resist those cute bears. CC Designs - Bears Clear stamps. Kelly also carries some of the C.C. Designs stamps and dies. The Mama Elephant die is from www.7kidscrafts.com and I thought it was a perfect size to use up with the background I created a long time ago and set aside.

I used Copic markers to color the image + 2 Crayola color pencils
Y15, Y18, Y19, E 29, E37
E31, E35, E29, E37
(I forgot to bring my Copic colors to add blush and for the flower stem
but Daenerys came to the rescue with a red Crayola pencil and a Green one)
The green came out a little to light and waxy on the Copic paper
but the Red Crayola pencil actually looks pretty good on his little
blushing cheeks.

The layering die is from Divinity Stamps
formerly known as Our Daily Bread Designs

Don't forget the current sale and the live videos
or if you miss them they'll be up on the facebook page.

if you miss that sale there's another sale
going on all month long.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

LMMS: Chrissie Let It Snow

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope you've been having a lovely day/evening. It's almost that time again... Christmas time and some of us (me actually) don't have enough Christmas cards created! Yikes! Every year I grab a new Christmas cardstock or paperpad because I think I'll be working on Christmas cards all year long and then I don't get to make as many as I want. Luckily it's still November and have a chance to make cards for a few family members, some teachers and some of my crafty friends- I hope!

On to my card....
I started with a rubber stamp Polka Dot Pals Chrissie from
Little Miss Muffet Stamps and I also used Polka Dot Pals Add-on Faces clear stamp set
I had lots of fun coloring her up on Kraft colored cardstock- to me it gives her
a slight vintage look.
I colored her up with Copic markers and then went in with a few stores of
Polychromos colored pencils.

Some of the Copic colors I used were
B32
R17, R46, R59
Y15, Y35, Y23, Y26, Y28,
W9, W7, W5
YG63, G94
W3, W1
then I laid a little color pencil on top for lighting
Uni-ball Signo White Angelic for the snow and eye lights.

For the colored layered background I used a die from
My Creative Time and the die for Let It Snow sentiment
is a die from Our Daily Bread Designs.

Here's a close-up
I really enjoyed making this card.
I think I will make more in different colors- at least to practice.
I've been playing along with
#thedailymarker30day coloring challenge and really enjoying it
especially with this card- I finished all of the coloring in one day.

Don't forget that there are Anything Goes challenges over at
There's also a sale going on at the shop various stamps

LMMS: Lamb and Star

Good Day Everyone!

I hope all is well. I've been working on a few cards behind the scenes and this one is one of my simpler cards at the moment but it has a powerful meaning to me. I got the idea to make it a card from a bible verse. Matthew 2:10 (through verse 11)

The name of the Little Miss Muffet Stamp is Lamb and Star. The image was separated because I originally meant to add a die cut in between the mountains and the pasture but I ended up liking the image centered and I will have to make another card or two to show my original idea as well as the layout in which it was intended to be used by LMMS artist Barbara. The inside of the card is a rubber stamp from Our Daily Bread Stamps and it's called "Come Let Us Adore Him"

I colored background with mostly distress inks straight on to the paper and then blended by using the mini ink blending foam. I made sure to block the image with a removable sticker or masking paper. When my background distress inking was done I colored in the star, the lamb and added a little shading and a few lines on the grass with Prismacolor pencils. I finished off the coloring by adding stars with a Uni-ball Signo Angelic pen and tracing over the black lines on the star. See! Easy peasy! :D For the sentiment in the front I hand wrote that myself... Every time I tell myself to not put my sloppy handwriting on the front for the next card... next card comes around if I don't have a proper stamp or die for it I mess it up with my sloppy hand writing LOL I don't know why I do it! Aaaaah!

Here is the inside of the card. I ended up not using Kraft cardstock inside and went with
plain white since I didn't need to use color pencils.
I know the stamp inside says it differently but I liked it a lot and the meaning is the same.

9 When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. 11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

I hope you enjoyed this card as much I enjoyed coloring and making the card while playing
Norman Hutchins - Emmanuel song on a loop. heehee

Stamp AnnieThing September Release: Day 1

Hi and welcome to Day #1 of
Stamp Anniething's September release!

We got some really fun new Chibi Kids to share with you today!

Nurse Holly wants you to Cheer up!

Holly will be available in the store Friday along with the other 2 stamps we show  you  this week!!
`~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Here is my card using Nurse Holly
only I didn't  use the nurse hat this time.
I decided to just leave her as a little chibi girl with her Teddy Bear.
I colored my image with Copic markers
E11, B34, E57, E34, R22 and R20
R85, R83and RV95
E34, E37, E39 and Blender Pen 0
The papers are from
Kaiser Craft called Summer Breeze
Dies are from Our Daily Bread Designs custom dies
as well as Desert Craftin Divas

Here is a close-up
I read some where that September 9th is  National Teddy Bear Day
because in 1902, President Theodore Roosevelt refused to shoot a bear cub
while hunting in Mississippi.
the drawing about was created by Clifford Berryman
who published a cartoon of the incident in the
Washington Post on Nov. 16th, 1902

I tried looking around but there were different dates for the
Teddy Bear Day... I wanted to share because I thought
it was a cute story behind the Teddy Bear. :)

I hope you enjoyed our September peeks so far!
See you tomorrow!
 Have a great day!

Thank you,

Katya Bess

Happy birthday to you Brother

Hello there!

Today I  have a boy birthday card for you. I used the James - Happy Birthday To You stamp set.

I wanted a simple but cute card for a male/boy.

James looks so cute and the sentiment is included
and it fits perfectly with my card sketch. Woohoo!
I used Copic markers to color him up.
Skin: Lipstick Natural, Egg Shell, Baby Skin Pink, Milky White, Pale Yellowish Pink
Clothes: Sky, Light Grayish Cobalt, Pale Grayish Blue, Night Blue
Hair and shoes: Warm Gray No 5, No 7 and No 9

The paper is from Doodlebug 6x6 pad called Hip Hip Hooray
but instead of using their string die I just hand drew some because of
the varying heights I wanted to place the balloons.

I must say that I finally opened my tiny Xyron Sticker Maker
and oh my goodness!!! I love that thing... See I'm so messy
with glue or I get glue coming out from the sides and ugh...
too much too clean up and then I always seem to forget to close the cap
but this was so good and clean! My only complaint is that
I try to use as least possible but there still some wasted sticker sheet.
Unfortunately James head is too big for the sticker maker. LOL
but it's not all bad it's actually a great size for coloring if you're
a beginner or up there with the coloring pros out there.
Anyway, what I want to say is I recommend the sticker maker for those tiny little
pieces oh yea I also used it on his shirt (not the vest I colored that part.)

I fussy cut the inside shirt from the same paper pad.

That is all folks!

Thank you for visiting.

Have a great day!!!

Danielle is ready for Springtime

Hi and welcome to Day #1 of Stamp Anniething's March release!
Who's done with winter and ready for Spring?  We are!!!
Meet our newest stamp,

Danielle will be available in the store Friday along with the other 2 stamps we will be showing  you  this week!!
`~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Here is the project I made for today!

Isn't she so flippin' adorable? :P I had so much fun
coloring Danielle with her little cute polkadot skirt
she looks just like a little ladybug herself. :)
I bought a flower spray from Michael's last year
and I just plucked out some of the flowers and
hot-glued them on. I tried to match the pink of
the skirt and scarf with the flowers.
The papers are from DoodleBug (which I need to buy MORE of.)
hmmm the adorable fence die is from La-La land Crafts
and it's called "Heart Fence."
I took the hearts that popped out of the fence and
created a butterfly with the heart negatives.
the hill is from Avery Elle.
The tiny bushes behind her were a freebie I got
from Our Daily Bread Designs but I think
it's a border die.

Here is a close-up of the adorable Danielle.
I hope you get her ASAP and have
as much as fun as I did coloring her up.

She will be available in the STORE Friday!

Thanks for joining us for our March Release
 and have a great day!

Easter Blessings

Hello Happy Sunday Everyone!

Today I have a CAS card for you all. I made a simple Easter card using Jemma - Party Time. My 8 year old Jade has a dress very similar to this one so I colored it just like hers.

As you can see I did not make it a party theme

but an Easter theme instead.

Hair: W9, W7, W5

Skin: E15, E13, E11, R22, R21

very simple...
The dies are from Spellbinders Labels 7 Nestabilities
and Our Daily Bread Faithful Fish Pattern
The paper is from Recollections.
Here is a close up of the glitter from the Sakura Stardust GellyRoll I used.

Thank you for stopping by.

TSC DT: Messenger Angel

Good morning Everyone!

I hope all is well. Today is the start of my kids' Thanksgiving break....  Seriously.... they didn't have to take Wednesday out.... LOL My sanity is going to go out the window.... I'll have to pray on that. LOL

Okay, on to my card. I wanted to make a CAS religious Christmas card... but then it was too CAS so I added a bow.

I used http://thestampingchef.com/Shop/downloads/angelic-angel-ann/ to show the messenger angel... I supposed most angels in the Bible that I have heard of have masculine names and are some very powerful beings.... but I really wanted to use this image in this case.

I used Distress inks and a ripped up piece of scratch paper to form the clouds.
There were specific colors I wanted to use to represent a messenger angel At least for the clothing:
A belt of fine gold. I used Copic Atyou pens to add some shimmer on top of the Copic coloring.
The clothes white as snow but I added strays of color to show the radiance or glowing and shimmering  that comes from an angel.
The yellow light shinning in the background clouds is also with distress inks.
The gold ribbon was a thrift store find- my mom got it for me. :D
Close up of the face and wings
this photo was to show the shimmer from the gold Copic Atyou pen.
The die is from Our Daily Bread Designs and you can find it here:  https://www.ourdailybreaddesigns.com/index.php/elegant-oval-dies.html

This is from Luke 2. Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
14 “Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
15 So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. 17 Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. 18 And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.
I hope you liked my card.

I will restore you to health...

Hello Everyone,

I was on a roll with sitting on my craft desk but hadn't been feeling well with too much cramping and back pain... (pregnancy things) So I had to stop :( I tried to color laying in my bed and it's not fast and practical as I'd like it to be plus with kids jumping or rolling around on the bed you can see how much of a challenge it can be LOL... well enough whining.

I created this card with a digi image from Robert Jackson you can check it out here- http://fineartsbyrobertjackson.com/just-hats.html
The digi is called:  Sunday Hat.

You can sort of see the shine/sparkle on her
hat, earrings, necklace, blouse and on her rose, which was
done with my Sakura gelly roll pen.
The Bible verse stamp is from Our Daily Bread Stamps.
I stamped/wet embossed the sentiment in silver
For the background I chose to dry emboss with an embossing folder
that looks like roses its from Provocraft/Cuttlebug
(sorry I don't have the name of the embossing folder)
My mom found me this super pretty ribbon at a thrift store (awesome find)
it's from K.D. Richards Inc- The Boutique Ribbon Collection

The rose on the lapel is also a Robert Jackson digi stamp
you can find it here:
and it's called: Rose
The card looks much more sparkly in person I'm just not as good as
capturing that with my camera.

Thank you for visiting.

Playing with COPIC markers and Color pencils

Hello Everyone,

"Espero que este bien de salud y en sus finanzas...." my grandma always starts her letters when she writes to me LOL Basically  she hopes that I'm in good health and doing good in my finances- I'm also hoping that for you my crafty friends.

Speaking of finances.... I bought more Copic Ciao markers.... just 24 more... lol I only had a set of 8 Manga Skin Colors (which I hadn't even used) and getting frustrated with lack of vibrancy or just having to color and go over it again with pencils and OMS which also takes too long. Sometimes the pencils work for me and lately it hasn't- more so because of time blending. I probably just should have gotten a larger set of Prismacolor pencils and different point sizes of tortillon blenders so I won't have to stop and "sharpen" (nail file) my one point.

After playing with my Copic markers I see why there are so many people talking about Copic classes and certifications- but I tried. Only because they're more expensive and the "best" out there doesn't mean it'll color wonderfully like you want them to.... you have to also know how to color and have special strokes and know what colors to blend. LOL it's weird because I know how to paint I mean I can blend well and not make lines or make a blotchy mess all over the place (aka the face- the most important part) with paint. I guess I just need more practice with these markers. Overall I like them. I also need to watch more YouTube tutorials and one day if there is a class nearby I may attend. If I just lay down one color I'm fine no streaking but blending is where I need help. In the meanwhile I'll keep practicing.
Coloring some of The Greeting Farm's
Cheeky Beach girls
Here is my attempt at blending but off the paper and bringing to the paper instead of blending straight on the paper.
This one I am planning on making her look like she's wearing a dress
and I'm cutting off her beach ball. I used colored pencils and OMS for her hair
and eyes (which I changed from green to blue.)
The skin, flower, slippers and swimsuit were done with Copic markers.
The lips with a gelly roll.

I don't know what I was thinking with the hair but it made
me think of those retro posters where the color is a little bit exaggerated so I'm keeping it as is.
I used Copic markers for everything on this Cheeky.
This is more obvious where my blending skills are lacking on the face.

Trying to work on African American skin too... but don't have many of the Copic "browns"
So I didn't do anything to blend the skin. The hair, eyes and ball are colored with pencils.
The flower, slippers and swimsuit were done on a sparkly cardstock.
Gelly roll lips.

This one wasn't as bad coloring since the lightest skin tones felt a little easier for me.
The hair, the swimsuit, ball, flower and slippers were done with colored pencils
and no OMS except the hair.

With my family life I color here and there so I didn't get to color and cut out in one sit; just took the pictures all at once. Plus looking at some of my older post my lighting really seems to suck so I took my Cheeky's outside in the mild sun to snap some photos.

Here is a card I made with the first Cheeky Beach I have post if you scroll up, you'll see.
This is for Mother's Day- a 'Mum' I met from the crafting world. I sat her at what I call an English Garden the paper is from Recollections All Seasons 12x12. The crackle paper I printed the bench on is from the Pastel, Heart Warming Vintage Collection- Crafty Secrets.
The bench is a digi stamp from http://digitaltuesday.blogspot.com/2011/03/digital-two-for-tuesday-79.html the blog name is  Digital Two for Tuesday.
I love this bench and Also because I haven't bought the newest TGF stamps
with those cute little seats. Plus this one has that vintage feel.
The Sentiment is from the "Mom" collection from Our Daily Bread Designs- http://www.ourdailybreaddesigns.com/mom.html I love that site!

Here is a close up of the Cheeky sitting on the bench.
This also makes me think of that song, 'Sitting in the Park' waiting for yoooooooooou by: Billy Stewart
LOL so not related to the card.
The inside may be a corny (belated) Mother's day poem but it came from me so hopefully she likes it.

Well that's all folks.

Crafty hugs,

Katya Bess
