7 Kids Crafts: Fearless Pursuit

Hello Everyone!

I hope you had a nice weekend! We've had a 3 Day weekend, Memorial Day, in honor of the men and women who have died while serving in the U.S.A Military. My Husband's Grandfather Celsus Yopp enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1951 and continued to served for over fifty years but passed away last year.

I didn't get to do very much crafting as I hoped but I did get work on a little ink blending. I used this pretty cool set called Catherine Pooler - Fearless Pursuit along with some Distress Oxide and some blender brushes, you can find some here: Picket Fence Life Changing Blender Brushes. With some good tools it doesn't have to have to be complicated to create a very colorful card.

I wanted to create a sunset with the colors and I wanted to be a beach scene so I used a marker to block in a section to make it look like a silhouette of an island. Then I used the Palm leaves and used the same marker that I created the island for the palm tree trunks. The Catherine Pooler - Fearless Pursuit comes with the palm tree trunks separated but I wanted to be a different angle so I drew the trunks myself. When I finished I added a few water ripples with a White Gelly roll and it was dry I added a little bit of clear star right above or under the white lines.

7 Kids Crafts: Flora

Good morning Everyone!

I'm so excited about this Sweet November release! I've been having a ball coloring these sweet images up. When I first saw the drawings that Amy Young drew up, I was amazed and I thought I would color up Sweet November: Fauna Meadowdancer first. BUT wouldn't you know, on my messy crafty desk Miss Sweet November: Flora Sweetbrier kept looking me and calling me to color her up first. LOL Sweet November: Flora Sweetbrier's majestic wings kept telling me to color her up as a Monarch butterfly. Monarch butterflies are very beautiful and travel about 3000 miles from Canada to Mexico every year without loosing their way. Monarch butterflies are an endangered species which is very sad but there are many groups out there including my Mom that raise them and grow special flowers like Milkweed (there are different types for different regions) to keep their species afloat. Monarch butterflies as beautiful as they are, they also contribute to the health of our planet. It is important not to use pesticides or herbicides on our gardens/yards- EVER!

Okay on to my card. Here is:

I just love Flora's pose and long long hair.

I knew I wanted to color her up as a Monarch butterfly

but I was debating if I wanted to color her hair black

since her dress would already be black with white spots.

Then a lightbulb popped on top of my head... LOL

So I colored her hair from a medium to dark brown down 

to orange to match her wings. I think it worked out out 

pretty neat but I wish I would have left a little more shine.

In the end I added Nuvo Jewel Drops

to the butterfly bush in random spots,

they kind of look like little butterfly eggs.

I colored the entire image with Copic markers:

B000, B00, YR00 (forgot these color but I think it was BV00 and BV01)

I had lots of fun merging the different images to create this scene at the gym. All of us who love or maybe not so much love but need to go to the gym could benefit from having a gym buddy to give us that extra push or inspiration.  I'm usually looking like the little gal in the back of the gym unless it's Zumba then I would probably be more like the girl in the front. heehee I like to use a planner and every now and then I use these cute little planner stamps to decorate but I don't spend time coloring them. Catherine Pooler 8.5 x 11 Premium White Cardstock

I colored everything with Copic markers. First I printed the Sweet November- Workout Room, colored it then stamped the TGF stamps separately. After fussy cutting the TGF stamps I carefully glued them on the workout background.
