SBS DT: Aloha & Howdy

Hey Ya'll,

How's  it going? Coming in with a brand spanking new line from Simply Betty Stamps.

I got to color two digis one for the State of Hawaii and the other State of Texas. Both were colored with copics only for Hawaii Betty I colored the background with distress inks.

Here is Hawaii Betty and she comes with that sentiment.

Distress inks used:
Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Mermalade and Fired Brick
Sand paper from Recollections

Close up

Here you can see the mess on my desk and the process before cropping.

Here is Texas Betty.
You can find her here:
http://simplybstamps.net/item_3231/Texas-Betty-Digi.htm
Paper and Embellishment are from BoBunny Anthem collection

Again mess on my desk and the process before cropping.
I don't know much about Texas besides what I see on tv and food I've tasted
but this is how I image some places that would have armadillos... maybe???
I hand drew the image with Copics... just skipped pencil and inking all together and
freehand the scenery but I'm happy with it.

Thanks for looking.

SBS: Rio's 17th Birthday

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to say "Happy Birthday Rio!" Hope you are having a very special time young lady. I wish you the best in life- ALWAYS!

I used this image which Betty particularly drew just for Rio's birthday but of course you can buy it and use it for whenever you'd like to use it. Here is the card I made for Rio's birthday using

http://simplybstamps.net/item_3069/Franken-Make-Up-Rio-Digi.htm

I colored her with Copic markers
used a bunch of Halloween stuff that I've gotten in swaps. I would say all decorative
elements and papers were all given in a swap... except the roses and the doily.
Rio love Frankensten so of course I made here in her classic wedding dress only
it's a little tainted.... just to add that Halloween touch to it.
 added some blood splatter.
I like that the Halloween border is so glittery- I cut a few of them just to add
to the areas that were sort of naked on the card.

Will be mailing this out soon...

Happy Birthday Rio.

Thanks for stopping by,

Katya Bess

Happy Birthday Sharman

Good Evening Everyone!

Today a crafty friend celebrates another birthday, her name is Sharman.

Sharman is a special lady that I have come to meet in the crafty world. She is always so gracious and has lots and I mean lots of words wisdom. HeeHee She is a beautiful person inside and out, a mother, grandmother, a person that loves the Lord and a very good friend -there is no doubt. :)

Happy Birthday Sharman!

This image was drawn up by Betty as a commission for her and when I had the chance I made sure I bought it myself.  :)  You can find her here http://simplybstamps.net/item_2532/Sharman-Digi.htm

I colored her with Copics and Sakura GellyRolls

Okay, I know the way I made the card is sort of Springy... and not of the current season... but it's because I know Sharman loves flowers; in particular Calla Lilies. I didn't use Calla Lilies this time but I used these Jolee's boutique 3D stickers with orchids and I hope she likes them as much as I do.
The birthday greeting Starform Stickers were sent to me by BreAnn McFarland. :D Thank you!

Here you can see the shimmer in the orchids and the shine from sentiment and vine swirls.

I hope you liked me card.

The winner from this challenge will part of the Dia de los Muertos Party Release Hop! That sure sounds fun to me :D

I used Copic markers to color her.

SBS DT: Use Cotton of Gauze

Hello Everyone!

Here to welcome you to the 5th day of the 13 Day's of Halloween over at Simply Betty Stamps Blog and to announce that today is my official first day as an SBS DT member! Woohoo! I had to like double check with Betty cause she asked me to be on her DT and I couldn't believe it. Ahhhhh! LOL I did the happy dance probably like 20 minutes later with Jade cause I still couldn't believe it for a little while... I had to ask her are you sure you want ME? LOL She must of really liked my Zombie Bday Betty or she must of been desperate I don't know.... LOL I hope that I can come up with some cool and interesting cards while I'm part of the team since to me I feel that they're all so competitive and creative it'll be hard to keep the ideas coming but I'll try my best.

Well for my first project I had to work with a Halloween image from Jude and Friends lines and use cotton or gauze.

I made an easel card with Little Dragon Jude (click on the link if you'd like to buy it.)

I colored the image with Copic markers.
The gauze/sterile pad I stretched it, ripped off some pieces, added red sticky take
to make sure it was secure. I didn't want to use glue because I didn't want it
to come through the front. I drew eyes and mouths with my Sakura pen.
The designer papers from We R Memory Keepers: Spookville lots
of pieces were scraps from a previous project and
I got those from a Secret Halloween Swap last year.

Here is a little bit of the side view of the easel card.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you liked it.

Make sure to enter all of the fun challenges going
but the challenges have a limited time so get to it. :P

Again, thanks for visiting.

Emily's Very Merry Birthday Blog Hop

Hello Everyone,

Back at it again with these cards.... gotta get them out while the mojo is still there right? LOL
Well I had loads of fun coloring this image that Betty graciously let us have as long as we had it ready for Emily Shroom's birthday! She's from the Land of Down Under and is visiting the USA and as far I know she's been having a blast...  A bunch of us have a wonderful birthday surprise for her and we hope that she enjoys it as much as we enjoyed creating these for her.

If you are coming from the awesome crafty mama, Mrs. Summer Painter, then you're in the right place. If not check down below for the full list of the blog hop. Next is SBS' very own Tuesday Solo Colorist Erin.

Well here is my card.
Will post the link to this digi as soon as it's put on to the shop.
but you can check out the store here and you might find other cool stuff while we wait :)
http://simplybstamps.net/category/new.htm
 Colored with Copic markers.
I used paper all designer papers from Crafty Secrets.
The plain paper are all Recollections.
The doily die is from My Creative Time.
the little tea cup is my own hand drawing trying make a match for Betty's Teapot. LOL
I originally had just cut the image into a square. I've been trying to not fussy cut some images to see
if it helps me speed along since I'm a slow colorer but it was just too too too much white.... it
would have worked out if I wanted it to be a CAS card but it just wasn't the look I was going for and
it was making feel a little weird about it...
so I went mad on coloring then doodling the entire background. So there to me
it finally felt more like something out of Alice in Wonderland since I'm lacking the
papers for that theme.
That is the back of the card. LOL I would never do that but it was
just too funny to pass up that stamp set.

Chillin' Like a Villain

Hello Crafty Peeps.

Happy  Monday :)

Okay I'm using Chillin' Lola Limited Digi once more. I had to make another card since I messed up on the last one. This time I didn't use any pattern or designer paper nor any embellishments just to make sure I didn't forget and add anything I wasn't supposed to. LOL

So I hand drew the sand and sand skull then I inked it with my Copic brown multiliner. It's a lot thinner than I'm used to but it worked wonderfully for this challenge. Erased all of my pencil guidelines and Copic colored away :P

This is what I came up with. I wanted to make it emo style but girly at the same time.
I had so much fun making my last two cards at the beach and I even took a little longer on the writing on the sand to make it pop a little more.
Even though I can't swim; the beach is one of my most favorite places to be. :)
I think I should have written a different message but maybe I'll do that on my next beach card.

This is part of my process.
I drew in the lines then inked it with my Copic Multiliner.
This is how it looked before I colored Lola and before I trimmed it to fit on the card.

Hope you liked my girly emo card.

Thanks for looking.

Emo Lolita at the beach

Good morning Everyone!

Just doing a short post to to show my card.

I used Chillin' Lola Limited Digi from SBS (click on the link to find her.) She was on sale for $1 for a limited time.

There is a mini challenge going on now to create our own scene. I had so much fun creating my background and I decided the colors based on my little embellishments. LOL I used Jolee's Boutique dimensional stickers as inspiration for my colors. I got so much into the coloring that I forgot the rules. LOL oh well. The rules were: "...I want to see your best backgrounds! Create a summery background right behind Lola. Add sand, a sky, water for the ocean, anything! Using JUST your markers, pencils, watercolors, distress markers. No stencils, stickers, designer paper (this includes digital paper), or stamps! Winner gets the rest of this line free! That's 5 more Summer Emos! Upload you project here in this album labeled Summer Chillin' Lola! Now get going!"

Wasn't too hard right? BUT I just had to "mess it up" by adding pattern paper and dimensional stickers. Anyway, I can't use it for THAT challenge but i still liked my card so I will show it off either way. I have a crafty friend who said she won't be participating because she can't draw... I told her this and to other people as well. If you want to participate and don't feel like you "draw" better than someone else- DO IT ANYWAY- you'll never know what they're looking for or how they are judging the creativity. Just do it for fun.

I used My Pigma Sensei pen to draw in the towel, the beach palm, beach and sand.
The dimensional stickers are from Jolee's Boutique called "Beach Fashion" Aren't they cute?
I wanted to use more but then I realized that I wasn't supposed to use that either... grrr.
The inside I just matted it with pieces I cut from the main image I drew up for the background and
papers from My Mind's Eye: Miss Caroline that Roz W.  sent me in a swap.
Oh and lastly I added glossy accents to the drink she's  holding but it got messed up. grrr.

So much for a short blog... that was long as heck!

Anyway thanks for looking and reading if you did. :)

Corinne's Girly Swap 2014

Hey Hey!

Hope everyone is doing well.  Today is the big day that we're showing off our swap goodies. Yay!
You should be coming right over from  Sam Slater's blog. If not use the blog hop list at the very bottom as your guide.

Okay, yy swap buddy is Tanja Charles I was happy to get her 'cause well she is really a friend that I get to chat with almost everyday. LOL Sometimes is just to check up on each other sometimes is silly randomness but mostly is CRAFTY stuff which is my favorite thing to do. :) Although we chat often.... You know that woman didn't want to tell me what she really wanted until one day along with another buddy BreAnn, we took pictures of our dies and let me tell ya she IS late to the die party (she said so herself).... very very late. LOL jk Tee just teasing. So since she's a good buddy and it's her birthday month I decided to buy her some dies along with other crafty goodies of course.

Still waiting on the mailman for mine though... darn post office.... We love them and we despise them at the same time. LOL So I will have to update my post for ya gals and gents.

"I got a package! I got a package! I got package Hey Hey!!!"
So excited to use these things I don't have that color catch it all for my sprays I only have 4 but
now I need more... I do really need to start smashing little life things or color combos. LOL
Tanja made the colorful beads. Can't wait to use the glitter and everything else.

Thank you so much for my crafty goodies.
Tanja got me these crafty goodies.

_________________________________________________________________________________
Anyway here is the card I made. I used Copic and Copic Atyou pens to color her. I used http://simplybstamps.net/item_2727/Bubble-Bath-Betty-Digi.htm just click on the link and you'll find her there.

The Paper and the brad is from Bo Bunny: Isabella Collection.  I tried to color the image to sort of match the papers or as close as I could with my limited Copic collection. I used roses from my stash... well from Orchid Crafts. The dies are from La La Land Crafts and from My Creative Time.

This is what I got for her.  A few things I didn't have myself so I got doubles and some things I wanted but it was the LAST. Is that baaaaad to get things for myself too or what? Good thing it was my own money and not my Hubby's or he would wrung my neck. LOL jk...
he supports me in my crafting... or so he says....  I beg to differ much of the time.

I tissue wrapped everything for the swap in WHITE
and the one BLUE one is for her birthday... not for the swap\ or swap hop.

This is what I got for Tanja
