Slinky Tart DT: Be Stylish

Hey Everyone!

Gung Hay Fat Choy!  (Happy New Year!) I'm back with a shaped card today for Slinky Tart Design Team. I was inspired by the corset this digi stamp is wearing and by my mom who used to sew and had all of these different sewing machines; mostly the Singer brand and I would love to feel on that black metal and how the pieces moved. They would often have gold or metallic designs. Very Steampunky if you think about it. Also, thinking about the amount of manual work and hours it would take to make such a beautiful and interesting creation.

I used The Big Teese digi stamp that I purchased last year, click on the link and you'll find her or you can explore the site and find some personal favorites here http://payhip.com/SlinkyTart.

I colored her up with some of my favorite colors to wear: Red and Black
I cut it with my Silhouette Cameo but I created a card with simple welding in the program.
The paper is from Recollections.
The pearl swirls are from Prima Marketing.
I used Faber-Castell Pit pens Silver and Gold to doodle around
Then some layering with colored Sakura Gelly Rolls
The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts and then used Copic refills to color them up.

Here is a close-up of The Big Teese
I used Glossy Accents to add a glass effect or add a lens to her eye piece.
Here you can see that it is an actual card and not just a flat piece.

The backdrop is my prom dress... of course I can not fit into it anymore
but I love the design and I love the colors. My hubby didn't want to go to the prom and in the end
I convinced him and we found it the night before our prom in San Francisco's Chinatown.
If I remember correctly I only paid $38... maybe a few pennies less...
The price was right and it fit perfectly... well a little tight on my hips but it was okay
I was happy I didn't pay like $300 to $500 like some other classmates. LOL

May 2002 with my High School Sweetheart (and now husband + 4 kids together :D )

Thank you for visiting.

Crafty hugs,
